my retro cardback doctor doom from the FF wave came with the mask on wrong, I tried drowning it in hot water and taking the head out but it was too tight, what do I do? does anyone have any spares?

Sorry to hear about the trouble. I don't have this figure, so I don't know what it's supposed to look like with the mask on the "right" way, so I'm not sure how he's supposed to look. Are you just trying to pop the head off, or soften the plastic on the head to be able to pry the mask off, and reposition it?
I'm assuming it's laying on his face properly, with the nose in the nose indentation, etc? If so then the mask was mis-aligned in the mold and trying to heat-mold the reverse-face impressions on it is going to be near impossible to do, imho. Your best bet is to get another one and customize this one, I fear.
@adrienveidt are there any sites that sell individual parts like heads? I wouldn't want to get a whole figure just for the head
Oh, that's way out of my 18th-collection wheelhouse, brother. You'll probably have better luck finding a garage-cast/3DPrinted duplicate or such before buying the head loose, though.
There's quite few loose ML retro Doom heads on ebay, here's one for $14:
edit: Just realizing that's actually not the retro doom head - doh! Still pretty serviceable though - good luck man!
