I’m a bit surprised how slow this one has been going, so do people just not want a Giant-Man? I wouldn’t have guessed that prior to this campaign.

I think there's a fair contingent,  several who have been vocal in this thread including me,  that respect the effort but don't want a Giant Man this big.    I don't have the display space for this version of Hank, I can barely accommodate the old Wal Mart BaF on my shelf.  So, i'm not backing not because I don't like it or don't think it's a decent value but that I don't have the space to display it because it's just too big.

That’s fair, and it’s the individual’s money to use as they see fit, I guess my question is, if this doesn’t fund are they content to just not have Giant Man? Or are they going to pursue the Toybiz version which will jump in price post-campaign? I know some people always think a better version is coming, but I don’t see any reason to think they’re going to invest in Giant-Man again if this doesn’t succeed, especially after they seem to have designed this campaign around the backlash to the previous one.

Super-Adaptoid might have been able to fly away from Pym's battering, you know, if it had the wings it's supposed to have... 😏

IMO, I think they completely missed the point of why the EOV failed. It wasn't the figures as tiers that killed it. It wasn't just because it was a vehicle.  It also wasn't simply because of the choice of character. It was a combination of all of those factors along with the unwise decision to try there first early bird offering that was a train wreck of an idea. Likewise, if Giant Man does fail, I predict that they learn the wrong lesson from it's failure. If they want to learn from their mistakes, they need to touch base with the fans and then determine why it failed. They shouldn't jump to conclusions and then include those into the next project.

I am one of those people that simply don't want a Giant Man this large. I think it's a great looking figure and I'll admit that the FOMO has it's grip on me. If I didn't already have the ToyBiz Giant Man, I would be even more inclined to back this. However, if I did, I don't know that I would be able to display it unless I had it sitting on a shelf with his legs hanging off. I already had to create a dedicated shelf for my Sentinel and Galactus.

I still have the Toy Biz Giant Man, but I don’t mix Toy Biz and Hasbro, so that figure is in storage with the rest of my TB collection. While that was a great figure, I think the HasLab is better in every way. I don’t have space for ANYTHING anymore. That ain’t stopping me from finding a spot for this figure.

Or just take his powers and grow larger.

I haven't had 90% of my collection displayed for years now as the permanent home and display room hasn't yet materialized, so the idea of fretting about where something will go is a non-issue. I do actuallly display TB Giant-Man with the rest of my Avengers, and I love the figure, but the truth is he kind of gets lost in the crowd with all the flyers and risers coming up around him. If they'd made the Haslab 18" I don't think I would have been complaining, but after seeing how much fun this big boy is I'm very excited to get him and design a larger Avengers display around him!

Dude, they go to conventions and talk to literally hundreds of fans.  They put on panels and do Q&As.  They read these boards.  They're on Social Media.  They give interviews.  I don't know how much more "touch base" they can get without taking showers with us.

Which is something I would be opposed to.

On principal.

Seriously, Dan's on twitter.  Tell him how you feel.  He'll listen.

So I haven't really checked back in here since the forum went down and might be out of the loop.  I'm not too familiar with modern comics so I'm curious if Hank Pym has returned to wearing this costume recently.  I recently re read all of Hank Pym's Tales to Astonish and Avengers issues as Giant-Man and it seemed to one of his power limitations that he couldn't grow beyond 12 feet before his strength actually started lessening so the size isn't making sense to me.  I guess I'm hoping there is at least some reason for this decision other than they just felt like making him bigger just because they could or just did a google search and saw some Alex Ross picture.

I think there are some who are being awfully, awfully nit-picky in regard how these projects are handled. If they just did this...or they should have done this...or if they would have included this...or if they would have just announced this...

The bottom line is, do you want a giant-sized Giant-Man at this price or do you not?

If your answer is, "Yes, I want a giant-sized Giant-Man but only if my specific conditions are met"...well, then, you may not REALLY want a Giant-Man.

I do want a Giant-Man this size, at this price. I don't want this one though.

The bottom line is I want the Giant-Man I want, not what would amount to an eyesore in my toyroom.

Something this size is going to draw the eye and become the focal point of my or any Avengers display.

I just won't have a goofy 1960's costume as a focal point, I would rather pass on this has-lab entirely.

The price doesn't bother me,

I bought the Glactus, the sentinel and the dragonfly haslab projects.

Is no one gonna comment on the fact that Huck's back?

I'm curious as to which modern costume you'd like to see here.

Yeah I see people arguing that Giant Man shouldn't be the centerpiece of an Avengers display, but I think he makes an avengers display a centerpiece.

New NYCC interview posted last night by Boog, and in it Ryan gave a very specific reason why they haven't shown the Wasp during the campaign that they've been teasing during every interview at the con:

Boog:  I think that at least seeing some renders of Wasp or supporting characters now would probably help boost the campaign.

Ryan:  You think so?

Boog:  I think so.

Ryan:  You think people would be able to conceptualize to see something and then be like "oh, I understand why that's a separate item," or it's like (Ryan cups his hands to his mouth like they're a megaphone) "THROW IT IN FOR FREE!  EVERYTHING YOU SHOW US SHOULD NOW BE $200!"  That's a trade-off, it's a gamble.

So it sounds like they were worried that if they showed a Wasp, or a scaled-down version of the HasLab, then despite the low campaign price people would still take being charged extra for supporting figures as a negative, whereas if they wait until after the campaign we're less likely to get pissed about paying for those separately.

I don't care either way, but I'm sure we'll be hearing some hot takes about that over the next few days.  😳
