I think there are some who are being awfully, awfully nit-picky in regard how these projects are handled. If they just did this...or they should have done this...or if they would have included this...or if they would have just announced this...

The bottom line is, do you want a giant-sized Giant-Man at this price or do you not?

If your answer is, "Yes, I want a giant-sized Giant-Man but only if my specific conditions are met"...well, then, you may not REALLY want a Giant-Man.

Seconded.  The level of nit-picking on this project baffles me.  The figure looks absolutely awesome, and I expect a LOT of FOMO from the people who have talked themselves into skipping it.

@kailryu I can only really see roleplay if it's significantly more niche and/or bigger.

Say... a replica of Iron Man's breastplate or Loki's helmet and staff with the mindstone. Maybe Doom's helmet and cloak.

I agree if it feels like a retail item, people would feel cheated.

Longtime lurker, first time poster here: I'm cautiously optimistic about Giant-Man funding, it's at 6,100 right now and a lot can happen in 6 days. But a part of me is still worried and if this doesn't happen it would sting to not get a Giant Man on this level and for such a reasonable price. I don't even care about the tiers, I'm not paying $200 for heads I'm paying for a big action figure. And with the BAF sitting to close around this price on the aftermarket I'm surprised to not see as many people jumping on it for what is a great upgrade. I'm sure if it fails Giant-Man would be tackled again far into the future but definitely not as grand and unique.

Where are folks seeing reports of Transformers not having a HasLab this year?

You know, I'd go and order four more of these if I weren't waiting for my storage unit of X-Force #1s to appreciate.

I'm still going to cross my fingers and hope for a future Hank Giant-Man (normal size, in this costume)/1st-ish Wasp two-pack. I'll still happily buy whatever Wasp costumes they want to make. I think they're fun.

One possibility is that they're planning a Hank/Janet 2-pack either way the Haslab goes, but if it fails they would use a different sculpt for Hank.  If they use a mini version of the Haslab but it fails then that figure becomes a permanent sad reminder of the failed Haslab in the minds of everyone who wanted him.

I could also see where they might opt to save on tooling on Hank if this fails.

Just reissue the Retro Scott Lang with a different mouth and slightly altered colors if this fails. Maybe with the lab coat and West Coast Pym head.

I am expecting that new Ant Man helmet to get a couple of reuses and think it'd also be cool to get the Allred FF as a set. It could work as a straight redeco of Scott, Ms. Thing as an alternate Thing head, Medusa as Walgreens Medusa (hopefully with pinless limbs), and then She-Hulk as the one who probably needs a new body although maybe some Power Princess parts would work.

Anyway... That would be my take. A different Hank.

Heck. Maybe Yellowjacket with Wasp...

I agree that the Giant Man looks amazing & is a huge upgrade (the smiling head notwithstanding), but I think the primary issue for people not backing it is the size.  So yes, definitely an upgrade -- but for many it would probably require upgraded space/displays which many may not be able to do (I know I can't).  I would definitely go for a 12" Giant Man or maybe even 18" -- but beyond that I just don't have the space for anything larger, especially not with the Galactus Haslab already being so big & Giant Man not being that big of a character draw just on his own (my preference is also the 90s version, but I am definitely in the minority).

Not to drag up tiers again, but the only thing that would have convinced me (& perhaps others) would be a Wasp costume that is likely never to see retail (like her asymmetrical white/blue or her insectoid form from the 90s) because then even if I sell Giant Man at a loss I at least have a Wasp I knew I wouldn't get otherwise.  I hope it does fund for those that want him, but I think that those backing multiple because they think his worth will increase astronomically should reconsider the level of profit they anticipate to make.

It's weird; I want to support Marvel Haslabs, I backed EoV and I still may support this one, but I'm not super-excited for it. Partly character choice, but also execution - why all the stitching detail? - the smaller figures could support this level of detail, but they don't include it, so this guy is slightly out of synch with the main line. Also, agree the faceplate expressions are fairly goofy. Part of the problem is they still don't quite have a handle on the new paint app methods - they're leaning into it too hard. One day we'll look back on this like the early years of computer coloring in comics, where everything was overly garish. I rarely see this kind of coloring in the comics, so why shoot for it here?

And yeah, this all adds to the nit-pickiness the campaign has had to deal with, but still better than Star Wars discourse!

@fletch Giant-Man a 3rd-string member of the Avengers? For shame! He's a founding member, been on most iterations of the team, and was consistently referred to as the "most powerful Avenger" back in those early, drama-filled adventures. You do Hank dirty with your cruel words.

Ha! Guilty. And also a big Hank fan. I loved his old scientist adventurer days, and Yellowjacket is one of the greatest designs in Marvel.

Maybe my problem is that I never liked him as a big guy. Heck, Hawkeye was a better Goliath.

Character selection for this campaign was always going to be a stumbling block.  Hank Pym is not a big merchandise mover.  And despite his long history, he's not an A-ister (someone that can carry an ongoing book/show/line).   While some of us can appreciate this costume and era, 60s Giant Man isn't something which is going to move many units.  Hopefully, it's a success, since I want it.  I would prefer a smaller version (~`5-18") of this character, but I can understand Haslab wanting to make something more sizable and something which is much larger than the Toy Biz Giant Man.

The only other critique I have for the campaign is the unlock tiers just aren't exciting. Obviously, additional figures would have been more exciting and enticing for people to support.  But they would have also dramatically added to the cost of the campaign.  Maybe if Giant Man himself was smaller, it could have evened out a bit.  As it is, the unlocks really don't add an additional umph to the campaign and have made it boring to check up on the progress.

@chooch555

During the Transformers segment of PulseCon B Mack (I think that is his nickname) the marketing manager mentioned that they were not going to be doing a TF Haslab this year (2023) and that next year for the 40th anniversary expect an "Omega level" offering.

Who knows what that will mean, but it was said then.

You must've been sleeping throughout the nightmare summer of 2020---bagged X-Force #1 with the Deadpool card was closing for over $100 for a while there. It was insane, hahaha!

For real, though, the aftermarket on this would be nuts since they're essentially being made to order, and in much smaller numbers than Galactus and the Sentinel. We couuuuld see a nice surge that exceeds 10k, but I don't think it'd be many more units than that. Anyone remember what the Galactus surge was like near the end there? Not really the same thing since we were getting Morg n' Nova, but still...

It more than doubled during the last week.  Geek.Dad.Life has charts showing the numbers for most of the Haslabs:

I do want a Giant-Man this size, at this price. I don't want this one though.

The bottom line is I want the Giant-Man I want, not what would amount to an eyesore in my toyroom.

Something this size is going to draw the eye and become the focal point of my or any Avengers display.

I just won't have a goofy 1960's costume as a focal point, I would rather pass on this has-lab entirely.

The price doesn't bother me,

I bought the Glactus, the sentinel and the dragonfly haslab projects.
