What will be interesting is if it barely backs at just 10k or so backers. It will cause investors, not scalpers, because you cannot scalp a preorder made to order figure, to pile in because the fewer the total made, the more profit to be had from reselling. But if a bunch of investors pile in at the last minute, that pushes the backer count high and makes it less profitable.

I think Hasbro allows you to cancel your order within a few days of the closed Haslab. So here's the interesting scenario:

It backs at just around 10k. Investors pile in pushing it up to 20k in the last hour. Investors see the final count is 20k and decide to withdraw, after the campaign closes including a few others. This pushes the total count down to 9k below the threshold. Does Hasbro still make it? Probably, to avoid embarrassment.

Well that scenario isn't gonna happen. You're not gonna have 10k sales to investors in the last hour. Hell, I'd be kinda surprised if we see that many on that last day in total from all backers.

Wow thanks for sharing those photos of Giant-Man at NYCC! He looks epic! He’s going to be an amazing and dynamic centerpiece.

Can some of you guys stop playing financial armchair analysts

We. Dont. Care.

We just want a HASLAB Giant Man, if you arent gonna back it, why do you go out of your way to convince others they shouldnt?

I noticed that the previous funded HasLabs exceeded the stretch goals by a lot (like over 8000 for Galactus), and this was at the last minute when Galactus was already green light for all 4 tiers.

So... I suggest that those that have already preordered one or even two figures, that they should add another to their accounts. Doing so ensures this is backed and once this reaches its momentum more people will rush in at the last minute (ie scalpers).

Adding another Giant Man to your exisiting preorder doesnt affect you one bit. If you change your mind you still have 30 days to cancel after the stretch goals are met. Those that stick around will still push this into production.

Im guessing the reason why Giant Man isnt reaching its goal is because a lot of those people intended to scalp excess inventory on eBay and because of the recession we are in, a lot of that excess inventory from the previous HasLab Galactus and Sentinel are left unsold.

As a collector of Marvel Legends for over 22 years now, although this project may not be a scalpers wet dream, I can assure you this will appreciate in value.

The original BAF sells for a hefty premium on the aftermarket. For those that did back this, consider adding another $200 for an additional Giant Man. I can bet that in a years time you'll probably be able to sell off the additional figure for twice what you paid.

Giant Man HasLab will be one of the most limited and sought after Marvel Legends ever made due to the limited number of backers.

Having 10 000 - 14 000 Giant Men is a lot better investment than 30 000 + Galactus

26 000 Sentinels. Think about adding another figure to your preorder list (for those that already did preorder).

In person, Giant Man looks amazing, and the one they show is the prototype. I’m debating backing and I have maybe two Avengers? That’s how good he looks. And his ability to be posed in so many ways really adds to the appeal.

Ahahaha...yeah, no. It doesn't work like that. Most of these "orders"  will be canceled.

Anyway, I backed it. If it funds, it funds, If not, it won't. Simple. I don't really need him. He is just too big. I would rather have 12-15 inch version or even Yellow Jacket.

But at least I can give it to my nephew as a gift.

I don’t have any Avengers from this era and I only have a few at most from others but this guy is just a giant action figure and that’s enough for me.

So you’d rather continue complaining that you couldn’t find one than accept an offer for one from someone here? Is it so you can keep complaining?

I know, right? i like how those offers at cost+ shipping are somehow equated to aftermarket scalping, too.  guess that'll teach you to try and help a fellow collector out, lol.

That and this continued insistence that comic Widow is somehow intimately tied to comic GM.  Where is that idea coming from???? Heck, even in the mcu Scott and Natasha barely interact outside of a brief fight in Civil War and the debate about time heist in Endgame.  I just really really don't understand the connection being made between the two here. What does Widow have to do with Giant Man?? someone please explain it to me.

@bash

You obviously don't get it, and never will so why explain it?  Oh wait, I'm talking about myself here.   🤣

I am by no means an authority on the comics, but I'm right there with you on this.  Tying Giant-Man and Black Widow together is a real stretch.  Even more so with the idea that the connection is somehow essential.  Again, maybe I'm wrong, but I don't see it.

Giant-Man:

5,890 / 10,000 (+71) 58.90% of funding goal with 8d 16h left.

Higher double digit daily gains is a good sign let's hope it maintains that for the last week and then the final bump should get this over the top.

I will take your bet! NO WAY Giant-Man doubles in price in a year. NOT gonna happen. I mean it's a great figure and I hope it funds BUT as others have said, it's TOO big and many (as myself) are happy with our Toybiz BAF. And again he's NOT as popular as Sentinels (where some wanted more than 1) OR Galactus.

Look at the current BAF Giant Man. If you were collecting Marvel Legends back then, you would know how much in demand that figure was almost 20 years ago without the fanfare of the MCU.

I've sold 4 Sentinels for over 900 each and the Ghost Busters HasLab for nearly triple what I've paid.

The bonus tiers for sentinel and galactus sell for $100.00 a pop. So yes Ill take you up on the bet. Make sure if funds and Ill send you a link to my auction next year when it sells for double.

Giant-Man:

5,980 / 10,000 (+90) 59.80% of funding goal with 7d 18h left.

Another high double digit bump, let's hope this is the floor for daily bumps for the rest of the week.
