Giant-Man:
5,734 / 10,000 (+55) 57.34% of funding goal with 10d 19h left.
An ever so slight uptick in the daily backing compared to the past few weeks. Maybe a NYCC mini-bump? Hopefully more of this over the course of the weekend now that NYCC is getting into full swing.
If for some reason Giant-man doesn't fund, they need to do box sets. For example:
Asgardian box set:
12" Mangog
8" Simonson Odin
Warriors 3
Heimdall
Hela
Simonson Thor
Executioner
$300
I can't believe I haven't heard this comparison between a Full BAF wave ($24.95 x 7 = $174.65 + tax is almost $200) Here's a GIANT BAF, bigger than any BAF before, and it's about the same cost... without having to buy a bunch of figures you may not want. The after market on Galactus, Sentinel, Giant Man, PITT, Fin Fang Foom are all in the neighborhood. I bought in on day one, because I'd like the figure and enjoy the process, but this logic would have certainly pushed me in if I had doubts. When it funds, there's no way you'll ever see this below $200 again.
The comparison was made more than once, actually. And highlighting the opposite. For $25 less I get 8 figures instead of one.
I'm not arguing that this Giant Man isn't a decent value, it is. And it looks nice. But if I have to choose - I'm spending my money on 8 characters for my collection rather than one. Especially one I already have in various sizes. And one that doesn't actually fit well in my display space.
My biggest reason for not backing this one, is the size. I pretty much knew when they started teasing that it would be Giant Man, that it would be oversized just because it was a Haslab. I didn't want Giant Man to be over 18" tall. That is the largest I would want him to be and even that's pushing the boundaries for myself. I still contend that it would have been a better idea to have it be a 12"-16" figure and then possibly include a variation on Giant Man as an added figure. Give me 2 or maybe 3 different Giant Man figures in that scale for $200. I don't know what the tiers could be but I would be happy with just the figures.
Giant Man looks to be the most posable of the HasLabs. I plan to display mine in a crouch so he can fit in my display. I can't really do that, and wouldn't, for either of the previous ML HasLabs, because it seems out of character for both. Giant Man is one I would mess around posing a lot more than either Galactus or the Sentinel.
I just had a thought, why don't we back the Giant-Man Haslab to 10,000 now, and then stop at 11,000 if nobody wants the Zombie face or the Skrull head.
Just watched Shartimus’ footage, and while he was talking near the end it sounded like someone was interviewing Dwight and the guys, and asking some good questions. I’d have much rather listened to that.
Zombie Giant Man looked so great today with What If Zombie Cap, Iron Man, and Wanda.
Now let’s see what else. Ryan thinks Fin Fang Foom would cost 500 bucks. I told him I doubt I would back it for any price just because I’m not that interested but mileage may vary.
I could go for that. Figure tiers are a must though, like a robed Mandarin and big boot Neo-Classic.
Yes! I’d be with you, buying it immediately! But I’d be pretty crushed if it didn’t fund.
Giant-Man looks like so much fun in all of Dwight’s photos. So poseable for a big figure. He’s absolutely necessary for me as an Avengers fan!
Reminds me of some of his epic feats in Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. Like when he picked up an entire ship and tossed it at Graviton! Really hope this funds!

Nice bump again. Looks like a bit of interest from NYCC finally hitting the backer numbers. Let's hope it keeps up to make the final days an easy push.

If I decide to back GM (still on the fence), it would also be with the intent of posing him in a a crouch or kneel, as well. So it's good to hear that'll be possible.
What will be interesting is if it barely backs at just 10k or so backers. It will cause investors, not scalpers, because you cannot scalp a preorder made to order figure, to pile in because the fewer the total made, the more profit to be had from reselling. But if a bunch of investors pile in at the last minute, that pushes the backer count high and makes it less profitable.
I think Hasbro allows you to cancel your order within a few days of the closed Haslab. So here's the interesting scenario:
It backs at just around 10k. Investors pile in pushing it up to 20k in the last hour. Investors see the final count is 20k and decide to withdraw, after the campaign closes including a few others. This pushes the total count down to 9k below the threshold. Does Hasbro still make it? Probably, to avoid embarrassment.
