No worries just wondering.  Great opportunity to talk to Ryan and Dan.

Oh man it’s my time to shine!!! Just came back from NYCC, and I had a long talk with Ryan, and it was so informative and there’s so much to say so let’s see…

Theyre excited about Giant Man, a little worried that it won’t fund, but that wouldn’t be the end of the world. I think they’re pretty confident it will fund.

Now let’s see what else. Ryan thinks Fin Fang Foom would cost 500 bucks. I told him I doubt I would back it for any price just because I’m not that interested but mileage may vary.

They would love to do a Quinjet or even a Blackbird. I’m going to talk to them more about it but they understand the problems with the EVO, and why doing a Punisher van would bring some of the same, like how Ramen can make a Charger.

I asked about the Arrakian mutants and he said I have a better chance of getting Cypher who I also begged for. Cypher could come in a head pack like Dani but I wanted a modern one. Ah well.

I begged for Storm Thor, he said it would be great but her costume might be too risqué. Same with brotherhood storm. on that note, he said he made Madelyne where you could paint the boob the way you wanted it but alas…

more tomorrow. Giant man looks really cool in person.

There might be another spider verse wave with Hobie with dread head and Miguel with unmasked. They couldn’t do those before because of time.

That's a good question - are they gonna wait for another Spider-Verse wave until the next movie (which is gonna be awhile) or move ahead with the options they already have available from the first two movies? Spyder-Bite, Spider-India, Scarlet Spider, an accurate Peter B. and Mayday, unmasked Hobie, Octavia, SP/dr and Penni, re-release Miles - that's a full wave right there!

Related question: what item's sales surprised them by how well it did?

I could go for that. Figure tiers are a must though, like a robed Mandarin and big boot Neo-Classic.

@ramkablam it would be like six hundred then plus shipping. I think what holds that back is would a six hundred dollar dragon appeal to enough people to make it worthwhile. Especially one in purple trunks.

another option he mentioned would be to do The Serpent from Fear Itself. I didn’t know that related to Fin so I stared blankly.

@schizm that’s a great question and I think the new wave would come with characters from who you mentioned. There’s so many they could do.
I’ll ask that tomorrow if I can.

He wants to do Cameron Hodge and I said people wanted X Tinction vs the Phalanx look. I don’t know the latter like that but I think the consensus in here is for the former.

@benha if you chat with them more, please impress upon them how much we need a Jack Kirby figure to go alongside Stan.

Thank you for the report!

They would love to do a Quinjet or even a Blackbird.

I have a wanted a comic accurate Avengers Quinjet since Jesse Falcon showed off the first wave of Marvel Legends at the 2000 San Diego Comic Con.  I always envied the GI Joe and Star Wars collectors because of the vehicles and playsets.  A Quinjet would be awesome.  And my biggest fear is ... they're going to do it.

Because I will no doubt buy it.  And then where am I gonna put the damn thing?

A Quinjet that could hold, say, 6 Avengers would be HUGE.  I don't know if I have the space in my display room.  And toys aren't much fun if you have to store them in the garage or attic.

I guess it comes down to this:  I'd love it if they did it.  And I'm certainly okay if they don't.

It's kinda weird.  But such is the life of a toy collector, I guess.

I'd love to have a figure of the King.  Good call.

I know it might not be the perfect character to release him for, but if they do a Jack Kirby figure I would love it if they included an alternate Uncle Ben head, because I kinda see them as similar in my mind's eye, and I would like to have both on my shelf. Or release a Kirby head as an alternate for Uncle Ben--either way works.

Y'know what would be sweet? If this doesn't fund as Hasbro just went, "We did y'all a solid and a great deal of you scoffed, so we'll go ahead and produce everything that has been pledged and that'll be that." Peoples' heads would explode, as it'd be the most awesome and exclusive Legend to date. Yeah, yeah, it'll never happen and it's silly, but it's baffling that this hasn't funded yet when it's just a little more expensive than a full BaF wave.

Let's just hope those fence-sitter and retailer surge is enough to drag this over the line, but it certainly feels like a tall order.

This!  I can't believe I haven't heard this comparison between a Full BAF wave ($24.95 x 7 = $174.65 + tax is almost $200)  Here's a GIANT BAF, bigger than any BAF before, and it's about the same cost... without having to buy a bunch of figures you may not want.  The after market on Galactus, Sentinel, Giant Man, PITT, Fin Fang Foom are all in the neighborhood.  I bought in on day one, because I'd like the figure and enjoy the process, but this logic would have certainly pushed me in if I had doubts.  When it funds, there's no way you'll ever see this below $200 again.

New thought.  If a typical BAF set costs $175 (with 7 $25 figures), what about a DELUXE figure BAF series?  Six or seven $40 figures (not $50-$60!) with a MUCH bigger BAF included?  They could slide a 24" figure into that wave pretty easily.  If the Marvel team decides to shelf the HASLABS, this might be a good way to continue to get those larger scale figure into the market still.   I stopped buying full waves unless I really want the BAF and I don't buy Deluxe figures unless it's really good (sick of all the price inconsistencies), but if it was a really good BAF, I would buy 6 or 7 deluxe figures at once.

That's awesome, congrats on getting in those questions.

I'm surprised to see they admitting they are a little worried about it funding.  I would have thought they were beaten down by the folks above them to keep it positive.  NO HONESTY!!!  🤣   But yeah it should still fund.

I don't know about Ryan's pricing predictions anymore.  Didn't he say if they were to do Galactus today it would also cost $500?  I mean look at Giant-Man, they got him out for $200.  What exactly does Fin Fang Foom (who I really want to get made) have that would require more tooling/parts/etc.  to make it so much more than Giant-Man, or even Galactus?  Ok the wings would be a big thing, but Galactus has electronics which require probably just as much factory manpower as molding a set of wings.  I would think that the parts count would probably be similar, but no electronics and less paint apps probably even out in the end.  Anyway, I would love to see Fin Fang Foom, but not for $500US.

All your other questions/points seem like the fairly standard answers they give, but still good to hear.
