Everyone here tells I'm crazy for skipping due to being able to buy the Target Exclusive Black Widow.

I saw at least one person in this thread offer to help you out with a Widow for cost+shipping. Did you ignore them so you can continue to talk yourself out of this?

My hang-up remains the height, the unattractive fingers and how the hyper-realism of his suit design does not match the rest of the line. But yeah - not gonna back until the end if I do.

Galactus didn't hit its funding goal until day 40-41, and the general trend is that we shouldn't have expected much activity right now. Still confident he easily hits the mark in the last 3-4 days of the campaign.

Not arguing that the trend is a big push at the end, but I think comparing to Galactus taking near the end to fund needs the context that it needed 14,000 units at $400 to fund, so 40% more units than the goal here, and twice the price. That's a tougher hill to climb so not surprised it took a while, and I admit I was skeptical at first it would get to 14,000 units given it didn't have the army builder appeal of the Sentinel.

@fac

Yeah there were some big differences with Galactus compared to what is going on with Giant-Man.   Mostly in regards to the offerings, the goals and the price.   All of that worked against Galactus until the end.

Most of those things are also working against Giant-Man right now.  Except the price.  The offerings are kind of "meh."  Giant-Man himself is pretty great in my book, but the tiers are lackluster.  I'll say it again, the ML team took the wrong lesson from the EOV when they decided against figures "behind a paywall."   But what can you do?  They made the decision and now have to live with it either way.

The one thing working in favour of Giant-Man is the price.  I mean $200 for a "giant" (haha) Haslab figure is a pretty great price, and the base offering is good enough in my books.  However the tier unlocks are a nice addition if they unlock, if a bit uninspiring.  Figures would have been nice, even if they price went up because of them.

From my perspective this is still on track to fund, even with the slow progress.   The question is how much does it fund by in the end.  If it gets there before the final day, it should make it to all the tier unlocks.  If it doesn't fund until the last day it could be a struggle to get all the tiers.  Which actually could help the value on the secondary market since it would be one of the lowest Haslabs (in number of backers).

It is genuinely mind-boggling that there have been people born and are now going to college during the life span of Marvel Legends.

I think I need to sit down.

If someone were born the first year of Marvel Legends, or the year prior with the Spider-Man Classics line, they SHOULD have graduated by now 😲

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't recall there being any commercials/ads for any of the previous Haslabs before. I just saw an ad pop up on YouTube advertising the Giant Man Haslab. This feels a little bit like desperation to try and get this to the final stretch.

I'm skeptical it will fund due to nothing being shown at either Con.

I believe fans were expecting figures to be shown at least one of the Cons.

It could have worked in their favor it could have not that is just chances you have to take.

I also think some fans are still pissed about the EOV and how it was handled.

You don't tell fans that some of their favorite Marvel characters the only way to get them is through this Haslab.

I would say a lot of those fans said okay I'm not backing anymore of your Haslabs no matter what it is.

I'm gonna be so upset If the Haslab Giant-Man fails. I want it so badly, just like I wanted Mephisto.

It wouldn't be terrible if they threw in the towel.  It's all downhill from here anyway.

Star Wars and GI Joe have a TON of Haslabs left to do though since vehicles are so integral to those lines.

NYCC would be a good time to announce any additions/changes. Not getting my hopes up bar some tier requirement changes.

Yes, I've got two sons that have both graduated college that weren't born yet when I started buying the first Marvel 6" figures by Toy Biz (Legends and the Classics lines).

I don't think there will be anything new at NYCC. Maybe one or  two new figures, unrelated.

Dan Yun said - "something maybe new later in Oct". So idk.

If they were smarter - they would have shown Classic Wasp already. They have all parts for her. It's like they're not even trying.

I want a classic Wasp, but not locked behind a Haslab pay wall.  I love that weird pointy helmet she had.
