@schizm I think that's a fair critique if that's how you genuinely feel about most Marvel Legends releases. The line has its own peculiarities that collectors of the line either accept or don't. To me, this looks like a typical Marvel Legends figure as far as build and approach go, just a whole lot bigger.
I wonder if more people would be backing if it wasn't so huge.

That would be me. I have no complaints about the look, the tiers, the price, the character choice - the whole campaign seems nicely executed. But to me he is just too big - I feel like he will tower over/dominate an Avengers display to the point the rest of the team will seem like afterthoughts, and I think being so close in height to the Sentinels and Galactus actually diminishes the relative huge-ness of those guys as the centerpiece of their displays.
I backed the EoV - despite some misgivings - because I could see how an eventual GR display (with the rest of the GRs on their rides) would work and would be cool; but even though I have less affinity for Robbie than I do for Hank, this is just not the size Hank that I want.
I'm also on the fence simply due to how big GM is. I imagine if it's close to funding or fully funded the last week, my FOMO will kick in and I'll back it. For now, I'm not there.
Giant-Man:
5,145 / 10,000 (+26) 51.45% of funding goal with 27d 17h left.

This is where I am, too. I think the package is great (other than the zombie and Skrull add-ons) and I'm rooting for the campaign. If this Hank had been released before Sentinel and Galactus, I would have been a day one backer, despite owning the BAF. But having those two big guys in hand, I know a 2-foot tall figure is just way too big for my purposes.
Like you said, unless you really do something elaborate, you're gonna have a bunch of figures literally standing at his feet. Or you're hanging things around him or something. But they're just getting lost next to this massive guy.
My sentinel is back in the box because I just didn't want to devote so much space to him. (And if I'm honest, I would say it's too big for the same reasons as Giant-Man, 6-inch figures tend to get lost around it.)
The great thing about Galactus is he's basically a standalone figure, and you can add Silver Surfer and Nova, which is all you really need. And he's awesome. (He still takes up a ton of space, though.)
All the talk about Fin Fang Foom or whatever's next, I'll likely never back a giant figure again. And I'm hopeful the ML team has something else up their sleeves for the next go-round.
I get the misgivings, and I hope they eventually come out with a 12" version for those who don't want this one. But I'm glad they aren't limiting what they make based on the dimensions of a Detolf. Elevated shelves and hanging flying characters around him is exactly how I'm envisioning incorporating him into a display - I've got the BAF Giant-Man in a Detolf with other Avengers, and he's practically getting lost! Once again I'll share this picture I saved of another Fwoosher's display (pre-forum crash, so apologies for not giving credit - please claim if it's yours!)
Hank will be considerably smaller than Galactus, with the top of his head probably only just reaching that top set of angled shelves based on comparison pics they shared.
It's a not-inconsiderate amount of real estate he's going to take up, but I've already dedicated a significant chunk of (future) real estate to this massive collection - what's a few more vertical inches?
I put together the Cassie Lang BAF yesterday and thought I'd be happy with the many growing characters at that height. That said, I backed this campaign immediately. I'll figure something out for display purposes. That's a 2024 me problem.

This is basically 100% how I feel, but I'm backing him anyway.
I think I'm going to have him in some sort of kneeling pose to keep his size down.
Why is the number of backers going so slow?
Probably has something to do with the missing HunkaHankabadonkadonk or something.
I think it’s a reference to someone’s complaint that Giant Man has no butt.
