I think it's a noble effort to try and keep any of our threads close to the top but I'll just check back in several hours.
@akatsuki Maybe like the bot you should have gotten diplomas from 30 different institutions instead of wasting time talking toys...then you'd know how to log in more easily. 🤣Â
On topic - I also think they misinterpreted the "no figures as tiers" reaction - I didn't think there were a lot of complaints about Omega with the Sentinels or the Heralds with Galactus - what some objected to was Hellstrom and Goblin Queen being not that connected to Ghost Rider, so while the complaints were overblown, the X-Men or Defenders fan who couldn't care less about Ghost Rider were put in a bad spot of potentially needing to back the main piece to get the side pieces. Honestly, they'd have gotten pushback if it was a random Hellstrom / Goblin Queen / Robbie Reyes 3-pack for the same reason.
I doubt they would have gotten too much pushback with a Janet or 1st appearance Ultron or normal-sized matching Pym, but I often underestimate the annoyance people have with these things.
Somebody do something, make this robot post thing stop.

Figures have been part of most Haslabs (where warranted) and they have their fair share of grumbling/complaints, but they didn't just stop adding them. For whatever reason, this time, the ML team decided they didn't want to put in figures as tiers. I personally think that it had more to do with the price than anything. They get to keep it below $200US (not really, c'mon $199.99 is $200). I think people would have been ok with up to $250 if they had included a couple of figures as tiers. I mean one of them could have even been a small (less than 6") figure since size changing is such a huge part of the character's history.Â
I also think this choice, above almost any other, had the opportunity to add figures to the tiers that the majority of collectors would probably have been fine with being "behind the paywall" of a Haslab. I mean Janet alone has to have had at least 50 different looks over the years, and Hank a couple dozen as well. They could have easily included some random (meaning not iconic) costumed look and collectors would have been, mostly, happy since it wouldn't have be a "must have" look for the characters. Of course there would still be complaints, but figures would have been included as tiers.
Either way they would have gotten grief so really it is a no win situation.
Oh and I will say this, Ryan seems to have calmed down a bit this time around. I found, in my opinion, him to be somewhat angry and combative during the EOV funding. At times I felt like he was talking at us, and taking things personally. I get it, when things are not going well it is frustrating. However that is the time to buckle down and do your best to keep on message. This time around he seems more mellow, which I guess is partly due to this doing fine so far, but also maybe they had a chat around how they wanted to present themselves this time around. He definitely has been out front more already (two different appearances on Youtuber streams).

Yeah, it's hard to say for sure re: the figures. I personally would love a YellowJacket and a Wasp in original costume or in her black and yellow more modern look that the movie was based on. But I know they're scared away from doing that. I guess Morg and Fankie and Bastion weren't iconic enough to cause a stir, but Hank and Jan definitely are. So yeah, they could take your advice and do Hank from when he was the Wasp, or in a lab coat, and do Jan in her weird bug form from the 90's, but I personally wouldn't want any of those and wouldn't want them inflating the price to add figures I don't want. I think we're all in agreement that Wasp and YJ will be coming soon to coincide with this (if it backs) so I am very ok with getting this for $200 and then those for $50 combined. Maybe some of those other looks can still come down the line. If they did the Squadron Supreme, they'll do anybody.

I especially agree about tiny figures though, and would really love to see those get added somehow and/or have had those instead of the faceplates that most of us have no use for. Transformers Masterpiece Skyfire came with tiny articulated figures, and that's what I'd love to see here. Tiny version of Ant Man, Yellow Jacket, Wasp in her original costume for sure, then some others they could add: Giant Man (in early Avengers issues he was sometimes ant-sized in his Giant Man costume), Wasp in a more modern look, Stinger and Black Ant. It was such a gut punch to get that Target exclusive Ant Man, where those normally have generous accessories, only come with an alternate pair of hands and no tiny figure.Â

The hackening has begun....
Are we about to say goodbye for another two months? Â
The robots are now able to click on all the pictures with a stop sign. They're getting smarter!
There'll be no stopping them now!
I feel violated.
Fucking Ultron bots and their university diploma transcripts...
This is being offered as a pre-order through EB Games/Zing here in Australia (they've done the same with other Haslab products) at AU$600.
Bear in mind that they sold Galactus at $800 and he was a third taller and came with multiple figures as a bonus.
Not sure they've nailed the price on this one. 😛
How many figures did Galactus end up coming with? 3? I think 200 bucks is a lot to pay for a trio of figures and the little bells and whistles they gave that release, but that could just be me.
