Wasp has had an assload of costumes, most of which are not likely to make retail because another look is more "current" or Hasbro would be iffy about pulling the trigger -- like the asymmetrical white/blue Perez outfit.  Or even her weird anime insect Wasp form from the mid-late '90s.

Giant Man isn't that much of a huge draw character to spend that kind of money on (I'd be more than happy with a 12" Giant Man) compared to say a Sentinel or Galactus.  Tiers of a Wasp costume unlikely to see release elsewhere, Jarvis, etc are more likely to draw people on the fence & FOMO is a real thing.  My preference for Giant Man is his 90s himbo costume, but even in these duds a Perez Wasp & Jarvis could push me towards backing.

Nothing could have moved the dial on EoV for me, not even Goblin Queen & I am a HUGE X-Men fan of that era.  GR anything is just not on that level which is why they were pulling from other corners of the universe to entice people.  Giant Man at least has Avengers to pull from -- Wasp, in particular has such an important link to him & the Avengers overall.  These face plates aint it lol

What's wrong with having this for 250 with a Wasp in one of the 300+ costumes she's worn that will never be made otherwise along with some other stuff of that nature?  There's a lot of overdesign here on the figure in terms of articulation, but hopefully they include some paint outside of the face this time. Not sure if either Sentinel or Galactus had any.

I still love that old Toy Biz Giant Man even if I don't display it anymore. I'm not a fan of mixing aesthetics though, and that BAF has some really dated proportions. Legs too long, torso too short, skinny overall. And as mentioned, it was one of the more difficult BAFs to complete due to being a store exclusive, and being broken into so many parts! What was it, like 12 parts you had to collect? Talk about wasting gas, I still get triggered by my memories  of Walmart exclusive hunts (Ares was just as difficult, maybe more). The HasLab looks like an improvement over that one in every way. The old BAF has its place with all those other old wonky proportioned Toy Biz figures, for sure. But this one is worthy of being displayed with current Hasbro figures.

I guess I got lucky - I was studying abroad in London when that wave came out and found them at a variety of stores. Most of them came home in my suitcase! 🙂

The original Giant-Man absolutely holds up - and I think his headsculpt outshines all five of the heads we saw today. I'm curious how those eyes work out, and applaud the team for continuing to find new things to try. But if it turns out like TBS Qui-Gon's eyes, or MCU helmeted Pepper's... shudder.

Does everyone here already have the eBay Exclusive Black Widow figure that they’re flaunting in all of the Giant Man promo pics? The more I see the photos, the more I realize I need Black Widow for the display to make any sense in my collection. And the more frustrated I am they locked it as a store exclusive with terrible distribution.

I don’t want to pay $6o shipped for black widow off eBay. I’ve already wasted time doing ten store trips over the last few weeks. If I can’t get it off Targets website by the end of this Haslab period, I may pass on Giant Man. Alternatively if Mafex announces a comic Black Widow in this time period, that would also work well for me.

@ben Bummer, sorry you can’t find her—I got her from Target online. And I saw a bunch of her on the shelf at my local Target. She’s a fantastic figure.

I'm honestly a little iffy because I want Hank as Ant Man and Clint as Goliath since my main collection is Kree-Skrull War.

But I think I could be satisfied selling off my Ant Man, getting the deluxe Hawkeye, and this.

As with any project like this that doesn't collect until the end, if I have the money and like it, I go ahead and back out of goodwill and set a reminder for the end to cancel if it didn't ultimately win me over.

Apparently Dan clarified on Twitter and Dwight clarified on Instagram that there is no Tier 3.

Even so, I'll give them until October 23rd before I decide to continue backing or cancel.

They may say they have no plans to do so but they always might throw something in.

Also, a Transformers Haslab goes up this month and might get my money instead.

Or the Ramen Toy sewer/alley diorama.

I don't have to decide until October 23rd so I'll stick around as a backer and see if I can get more excited.

I think it's a decent value but it also isn't exactly what I want. But I'm happy to stick around as a backer and see what happens.

Update: I can’t find it, but I found the other posts I saw it mixed in with, so I don’t know if it was deleted, fake, or whatever. But in my search to find it I ended up seeing several photos of the Engine of Vengeance so now I’m super bummed out all over again.

You and me both! I still lament the lack of a Hellcharger that would be coming my way soon, but the people spoke. At least Ramen Toy stepped in - their project is shaping up to be a worthy substitute for the real thing. Just gotta make myself a Robbie figure!

Care to restart the Ramen thread? I haven't read any updates since you posted in the now-obliterated-old-thread 🤣

I'm not that much of a glutton for punishment! After the board collapse the already-tiny number of people interested has dwindled even further!

Fair enough. If you could just PM me any updates you come across, that would be much appreciated! 😉

This got buried but yes, yes I will! Maybe next time they do a substantive update I'll just start the thread and you, me, and the other guy can have ourselves a party!

It's a date!

I backed immediately.  As much as I like more figures, I'm just as happy to buy more figures separately.  The idea of bonus tiers seems to have backfired over time.  We've come to expect hefty bonuses (because we go them before), but hefty bonuses have to be baked into the price.  I think the team made the right call to go with a "here's the deal, buy it if you like it" approach.  Hopefully this becomes a palate cleanser so future Haslabs that have nice tiers seem special again.

I'm not the biggest Widow fan, but when I saw the solicits for her I made sure I got the preorder and dang, DANG she's worth it. Just really solid all around.

The sentinel has a lot of paint apps. Little wires and metal bits. It also has a lot of color separation through the parts layering they did. It's a really impressive piece. It's not maximally painted, they probably could have put a bunch of washes on it, but frankly I think that would largely be gilding the lily. The paint it has nails everything I want it to in spades.

Wow, I can't believe a ML Haslab that costs less than McFarlane's $250.00 Batplane and offers a lot more, wow!

I don't see how Hasbro's MLs marketing team can get this 2 foot action figure on the shelves of Walmart and Target when McFarlane couldn't get the Batplane on their shelves and he's freaking McFarlane, heh, heh.

I can honestly say me backing this at $199.99 feels much better than when I bought that $249.99 bare bones Batplane that barely sits one 7 inch figure in the darn thing. The value and offerings feels much, much better to me. I thank Hasbro's entire ML team for this.

After the Haslab reveal, I could see FA Wasp revealed at Pulsecon as a boxset with Gold Iron Man and Hulk in purple trunks as a NYCC exclusive.

Removing the face plates for Giant Man will just leave the mask. Makes me wonder if this surpasses the 2nd tier, could an unmasked Hank Pym head be included?
