@fac I really wanted to have GM crouching down, in like a three-point superhero landing pose. But I couldn't get his torso to bend enough for his arm to reach. Posing the legs was tricky also, as the boots don't get enough upward motion in the ankle due to the sculpt (this is my biggest gripe with ML articulation across the whole effing line). It's hard to get any lunging/crouching poses because of that. The ratchets in his arms are in pretty much every joint. The shoulders, biceps, double elbows. The stubborn fingers also help in the matter. The hips and knees are also doing a lot of the work. I would probably still reinforce the balance somehow if you're going to put a bunch of figures on a platform on top of him for a permanent display though. This set up lasted all of a minute.

Thanks for that extra info. The inability to get a stable partly kneeling pose is a frustration for me as well.

If I go the route of GM holding a platform, it will be an optical illusion as I will figure out how to connect the back of the platform to the wall so that it more or less would be supported on its own, leaving GM to be more like a third leg/extra support than truly load bearing.

With the exception of the eyes, this dude is perfect. I love it.

I decided to open mine and I agree with the above (although I would still prefer him at about 75% of this height)- question, though...

The fingers are definitely scary to move around, but I used heat the first time around. It got easier after that.

Did you use hot water or a heat gun/blowdryer on the fingers? I've got my trusty heat gun, but figured I should check before taking action. Trying to move the fingers is definitely agita inducing as it is now.

Hot water is much easier.  You know you're getting everywhere if you pop the hand off and submerge it in near-boiling water, but with a heat gun you have to be careful and sure of where you're pointing it and for how long.  I've also watched Shartimus cause paint to smear on a figure by using a heat gun for too long in one spot with paint.

I put all these Haslabs up on giant doll stands left unattended. They are 3-4 feet in the air. A tumble from there ...

@enigmaticclarity Yeah, I tend to agree with you- I usually use a heat gun without issue, but that's on bigger, singular joints. In this case, these joints are so small...I think I'll put Hank through some light torture by dipping his hands in hot water.

Thanks, @normdapito !

Hank arrived with slightly off center eyes. I can live with it until I can get a pair of replacement eyes. I currently have him displayed holding Ultron in his hand. My girlfriend was rather ho-hum about the figure, as she isn't familiar with the character, but once she saw him with my other Avengers holding Ultron, she immediately "got" it! She was actually impressed, which ain't easy!

Held mine at the nearest Walgreens and just picked him up, no issues so far but I won't have time to examine him closely for a few hours.  The only hiccup I now remember I also had with Galactus two years ago--the FedEx tracking status doesn't tell you when they drop it at the pickup location until sometime much later, not sure when but I'm guessing overnight.  I watched the truck on the FedEx tracking map throughout the day, saw it near the Walgreens in the late morning, finally dropped by there around 4 PM, and it was there and probably had been for five hours.

@enigmaticclarity we have to put your toy tracking skills to new uses.  Surely you could be fighting crime somehow.

Hank arrived; this is a really well-done figure overall. Think I got lucky with the eyes, the straight on are pretty much straight on, side eyes are good. I do wish he could bend more at the waist. Love the tightness of the joints, feels like he will keep a pose for a long time.

As with the Tri-Sentinel head and the Doom head, the Zombie face plate seems like something that will be used 1% of the time at best.

Question for the Avengers historians, is there a time period when he was drawn with the white antennae instead of the black?

Only two instances of white antennae I can think of are Marvel Zombies and the TB BAF.

I went back and browsed all of the early Avengers covers where he wore this costume, and on every single one of them he has black antennae.  But he changed to a different costume entirely in issue #28 so there isn't a large data set there to consider, and I'm sure they've had him in this costume far more than just those pre-#28 early Avengers issues.  I've only ever seen the white antennae on the Toy Biz figure myself, but I've never been a huge Avengers fan in the comics so there's definitely far more Giant-Man content out there that I've ever seen.

But I certainly get the aesthetic idea of making them white.  It reminds me of Mafex including white billy clubs with their recent Daredevil masterpiece that had a lot of people complaining.  White accessories mix better with a red costume than darker ones.  It's a striking contrast of two colors that blend well together.

I'm a longtime Avengers reader, and honestly the only time I can remember his antennae being white was in Alex Ross' Marvels project. That famous pic of him stepping over buildings has them. Black is definitely the norm, and it matches the smaller Giant-Man in the 2-pack they just released as well. So while I think the white looks better, I'll be going with the black to match that.

My Giant Man just came this morning! I'm working from home today, but of course it came during the half-hour where I take my daughter to school and my wife was the one who had to sign for it 😐.
