@enigmaticclarity Considering Hasbro just did another round of layoffs this week I doubt there is much appetite among the rank and file, bean counters, or C-Suite types for an additional expense on a project they consider fulfilled.

I don't imagine the ML team is going to want to go up the chain of command and try to sell them on the idea of "something nice" for the fans after the eyes didn't come out exactly straight.   I can see management just staring blankly at anyone who would bring it up and asking them if they are serious.

Seeing all these small issues with Giant-Man kind of eases the pain of not backing him.   I just couldn't pull the trigger last year when they want almost $50US to ship him to Canada, even at $200US for the figure.   It came out to something silly like $450Cdn for him.   So I was bummed to pass, but now it doesn't sting quite as much.

Every project at a big outfit like Hasbro has room in the budget to address quality control issues that crop up, because they almost always have an impact to some degree. It's just a question of how much did they budget and would redoing the eyes exceed it? And if the factory screwed up then the factory itself may be on the hook for a portion of the fix. Beyond that, then it becomes a question of "Does this suboptimal product damage our sales more going forward than it would cost to correct it?" Given they let an issue with the Sentinel go, an issue that would unquestionably have cost a lot to remedy, that could be a sign they'll ignore this or it could make this seem like a more important issue to remedy. If they value the HasLab model then the reputational damage might be enough to get them to ship a bunch of eyes. Especially because they probably have a prediction on how many people will actually reach out for a fix and how many will just let it go. Though really, with it as widespread as it appears to be, they should just ship new eyes to everyone since they have all of the information needed and bask in the positive PR they would receive in turn.

well I managed to get the plug out. Took about a half hour of finding the right tools and working it out.

Do you have a guess as to what may have happened? I mean, none of your actual antenna are broken off, are they? If not I'm guessing a QC person tested the antenna in the hole and broke one off, but then they didn't know how to remove it and left it for you to do.

No, that’s probably what it was. All my antennae were in tact in the plastic bag.

Pointing out the pun. 😉

Speaking of antennae, the zombie antenna just have that tiny bit of damage to them, right, but are mostly the same? I thought one was going to be very bent but all four black antenna are really similar.

I dunno; maybe I just got a good one but, I think my Giant Man looks pretty sharp.

Has there been any comment from any of the Legends guys on this yet, or are we still too early into it?

I haven't seen it, but man they need to. Mine are egregiously bad. Even the down-looking eyes - which seem to be hit or miss across copies - are super cross-eyed on my copy. My "forward looking" eyes are worse. Comically bad.

Have they EVER provided any fixes for a haslab?  As far as I know they have not.  This however would be the easiest.  Others I can think of:

Loose Sentinel Knee Ratchets

Unicron Maw Colored incorrectly from all previous prototypes/media until final

If they don't make a new run of front eyes, the least they SHOULD do is if you provide a photograph of the incorrect eyes is to give a partial refund or gift certificate to pulse.  They need to acknowledege this mistake and fix it somehow, otherwise why should people EVER trust a Haslab again to be as good as what is solicited?

What does this do for the new ONLY pre-order model? What if all Dragon Man copies come with 2 left open Hands and no right?

What if the 97 Sentinels All have fused right pinky fingers that can't even be moved with heat?

Even though Hasbro is obviously a sinking burning ship (due to being run poorly as a corporation looking for max short term profit instead of longterm steady gains), flagship items like this needs to be fixed or it will tarnish the name even if they wan't to sell the company off (If they can't be bought out due to Monopoly laws, however long those exist)

I didn't really even think much about it until this QC debacle, but it does seem that they should have been engineed to be reversed for more options. Probably they don't sit perfectly symetrically in the head vertically?  With something this big, they obviously should have made each eye poseable with a tool like lots of Japanese import 1/12 figures can do.

Only one of my Giant Men got delivered today even though they both left Chino on 10/14. The other one is still in PA.

I keep looking for info from the London Con to see if anybody asked Dwight about Giant-Man's wonky eyes. I haven't found anything yet, which is surprising since there were influencers there.

Well my two boys arrived . they have the forward facing eyes in both of the heads .

both right eyes are slightly toward the nose , the left eyes are both centered.

good enough for me , I don't have OCD so I'm good.

Just posted by Dan Who moments ago.  Haven't watched it yet, but Dan says at the start he did ask Dwight about the eyes.

I got mine and went ahead and opened him Saturday night.  I have to be honest, I can't tell which eyes I put in once I get him on the shelf and I'm not zoomed in on him with a camera.  My eyes that appear to look down seem to look straight ahead when his head is tilted slightly back.

You cursed me. My Giant-Man has a fused right pinky finger. I took both hands off and gave them a hot water bath because the fingers were all stiff as cadaver boners. All those finger joints were my main concern so that's the first thing I checked. I haven't even looked at the eyes yet because I'm so disappointed in the finger.
What they need to do is followup the '97 Sentinel with a smaller Giant-Man.

That's a photographic illusion, isn't it?  You didn't actually balance that group up there did you?  Great posing idea!
