Dan Who posted a review.  He's saying the same thing a few people on Reddit have said--that he received two sets of the side-eyes, but no straight-on eyes.  Are any of you who have received theirs seeing that as well?

After watching more reviews and reading lots of Reddit posts I can say that some people are getting straight-on eyes, and many aren't.  There appears to be variance in exactly where the eyes are positioned on the plastic, and some people are luckier than others.  The two that Dan said were pointing right both looked a little different to me as if one was pointing more right than the other.  So what kinds of eyes you get looks like it's going to be the luck of the draw for all of us.

Someone on Reddit asked the owner if he could try flipping the eyes upside-down to see if they were closer to straight, but it's clear from the way the eyes are designed that they can only be situated in one vertical direction because they plug into the face with three pegs--one is between the eyes, and the other two are below the eyes.

Another QC issue that Dan Who and several other reviewers noted is that they couldn't bend the fingers at all out of the box.  But every reviewer I've seen with that issue solved it with heat so no big deal.

I was wondering why these eyes seemed so similar! Sure hope Hasbro offers corrected lenses - I would like Giant-Man to look straight ahead.

Came across this U-shaped Detolf shelf last night and put an order in: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1356182070/ikea-detolf-shelves-14-inch?ref=yr_purchases

Definitely inspired by neozero's display to create some extra shelf space alongside a big guy. It's going to be a tight fit in the Detolf and might not work, but we'll see! Hoping to build deeper shelves sooner than later but there's about 100 other house projects that take priority.

That's a shame on the eyes. Hopefully they take care of everyone and do another run of eyes to send out. That's definitely an easier fix than bad Sentinel knees.

I kinda hate this figure.

He has lots of issues standing up in neutral poses. The fingers are very hard to articulate. His face plates are creepy and the eyes, as noted, are f'ed. Also the left leg on mine is extremely stiff - I just hurt my hand articulating it.

And I hated it in the prototype, but the ribbing on his trunks is so distracting and ugly. Doesn't match the era, doesn't match the other blue parts or leather accents.

Why did you back it?

Opened my Giant Man last night.  He's huge.  Almost too huge, but that's certainly a preference thing. Surprised to find so many joints are ratcheted, even the bicep swivels.  But...the toes are not ratcheted.  Nice strong ratcheted knees are a bonus (after the Haslab Sentinel issue) but why not ratchet the toes?  Certainly weight is going to be put on the toes during poses.  I hope it's not an issue, but it could be down the road.   It's just another boneheaded decision/oversight.

The finger joints are frightening.  I've managed to move all joints with extreme caution, but one finger joint is going to need heat.  I feel the pegs going into each joint are just too short, which is understandable given they're smaller than the Sentinel and Galactus fingers.  But...I can see these being an issue as well.  You definitely need to spend a few minutes to pose them.  No quick posing.  Hopefully, they can be worked through a bit to not be so impossible to move.  As it, I'm getting them into some half-grabbing poses and leaving them alone.

The eyes...sigh.  Of the three normal sets, I have one looking slightly down.  One looking left (from GM's perspective).  And another set looking even more left.  I don't have a set which is dead-on straight.  I but the down looking ones on the stoic face and it seems ok.  It's extremely perplexing they didn't design the eye component to be flippable, so you could double the options of looks for the figure.  It seems like it would have been possible to do so.  Just another odd engineering decision.  Getting slightly wonky eyes on a $20 mass retail figure is one thing, but getting them on a $200 year-long preordered item shouldn't be happening.

It seems like a lot of gripes, but it is another large impressive figure.  I'm glad it exists and I'm glad I have it.  I do wish that premium items didn't have such odd issues though, especially as they seem like they should have come up in the design process.

I agree they should be flippable and that it was lazy to not make them that way.

I'm also now thinking that the one set looking down and the two sets looking half-left and fully-left is intentional, or at least not a QC issue on random individual figures.  I've now seen half a dozen Youtube reviews where all of the eyes are that same way, although I have also seen 2 or 3 in Reddit pictures where one set of eyes was looking almost dead forward.  The zombie eyes also seem to be looking forward correctly on most or all I've seen so far.

Here's a Youtube review where he appears to have one with the regular eyes looking straight forward.  He shows them outside of the head at the 11:07 mark.

If it was intentional to have the alternate eye sets looking to the same side, they really should have been flippable so you could make them look right.  So odd.  It's like Todd McFarlane was on the phone with the Haslab team telling them how awesome side-eye is on a figure.

Actually, nevermind--someone direct messaged me via Reddit who doesn't have an account here but reads the forums anyway pointing out that the eyes in this review are actually being held by the reviewer upside-down at the 11:07 mark making them seem centered both vertically and horizontally, but they're actually the down-looking eyes.  So this reviewer also has two sets of side-eyes and one set of down-looking eyes. 😳

Weird response. Only two of those issues were known at the time of backing and one always hopes things turn out better in production. That didn't happen this time.
