Haha to the person thinking the shadow looks female and just drawing boobs on the shadow. Classic.
i mean... look at the silhouette without the lines, that's kinda a robust chest for a guy
Watch it be the Clint version of Goliath and those are the chest straps from that costume. Now THAT would be a curve ball. Or it's multiple giant characters, as some have speculated, and Clint Goliath is one of them.
I still think it's going to be a $400 24-25 inch Giant Man with Tier 1 being an alternate head or heads and possibly mini figures / ants, Tier 2 being First Appearance Wasp and Tier 3 being Yellowjacket (could be either Hank or Rita). If they went farther than that then I could see Jarvis as a final tier.
If this is the route they go I will active campaign against it. Of course I could skip it, that wouldn't be my issue but if characters I want in my collection like 1st appearance Wasp, Rita Yellow Jacket and Jarvis end up locked behind a $400 paywall I will be livid. And I DO NOT want a two foot tall or taller giant man - 20 inches max I think,

Of course that could also possibly be the only way we'd ever get those characters at all.... except maybe FA Wasp, but of course they haven't made that version of her yet, so.... so it may very well end up like Robbie, Mephisto, Madelyne and Hellstrom, it's either part of a HasLab offering or not at all.... I'm not saying that's the way it should be - but it certainly could work out to be that way.
I still think safe money is on this being a lower-priced offering than we've seen before. And I'm not just saying that because jroug, who seems to have some sort of inside scoop, said so.
After the failure of the Hellcharger there's just no way they gamble on a $400 Hank Pym set. They want an absolute guaranteed win and to gain back some goodwill that may have been lost (rightfully or not) over the last year or two. I'll be surprised if all the tiers are Hank Pym/Ant-Man related too - Hank is only so popular on his own, and they're building this up as an Avengers offering. If it's a $200 reasonably-sized Giant-Man with FA Wasp and tiers that include Jarvis, etc that's a much better offering that some fans will still grumble about, but ultimately is much more reasonable than having to drop $400 to get those crucial characters.

I'll believe a sub-$300 HasLab from a Disney licensed line like Marvel or Star Wars when I see it. That's far more likely for an outright Hasbro owned license like GI Joe, Power Rangers or Transformers - but I'd be shocked by anything that cheap for Marvel or Star Wars. Heck, $200 is basically the cost of one normal wave and not much more than the average 5-figure box set. What's the point in doing a lengthy fund-raising campaign for something at that price level? I'm sure that they could release an 18-inch Giant Man with no tiers or anything else included at $150 and easily sell way more than 20,000 copies as a Pulse and fan channel exclusive - but if they're going to make it a HasLab I'm expecting that it's going to be much larger and more expensive with more bells and whistles (so to speak). That's like the whole point - something that they could never sell without a fundraising campaign otherwise.
And honestly, I don't think Hasbro is that worried about needing a win on a Marvel HasLab. The whole Legends line is a such a tiny part of their overall portfolio that it barely registers in the big picture. Sure they want it to fund so that they can make some more money, but if it doesn't then it certainly won't impact their bottom line very much at all. It's more on their branding team for not coming up with a marketable offer - but they're certainly also not going to price anything in a manner that it isn't super profitable for them.
$300 I could believe, maybe - but I'd expect the overall offering to be far more limited in scope than even the EoV was for that price point. That's about the lowest I could possibly see them going. We'll find out very soon, though -- and I certainly wouldn't mind being wrong about this! I'm just trying to look at from their perspective - why they would even bother with a HasLab below that level? Why do a campaign for something that would easily sell enough otherwise?
For perspective the recent NECA TMNT sewer living room was $300 and and it's not too far removed from something that could be made out of Lego bricks. I'm not jilting NECA there, it's just that we have to be realistic about pricing and what you get for it.

yeah, i think $200 is unlikely, but to play devils advocate, higher cost doesn't = higher profit and ultimately profit is what hasbro wants. They could easily shell out something of lower cost, sell more due to it being more affordable, and make a larger profit over something that costs much more and sells lower units. So it's not completely out there
It's gonna be a comic set. If memory serves, it has the A60 branding when it was first teased, she the new image showing the shadow of it has comic figures. If it was MCU, it'd be teased with MCU figures

Oh I get it. And here's the thing - if the HasLab was an 18" Giant Man with those characters included I'd likely back it, though I'd acknowledge it would still suck for people who didn't/couldn't buy in but wanted those characters. My anger would be from the fact that if they make Giant Man as big as the Sentinel it will be too big for me to display. I already had to get creative with the Sentinel and hade to figure out how to make room for Galactus. I don't want a Giant Man figure as big as either of those. I don't have room for it and don't want to have to remove something else to accommodate.... but I also don't want to have to spend $350 to get my Jarvis or Rita figures and a giant Giant Man to leave in the box.
I get it - the HasLab team wants to make something big and impressive and justify the $300 plus price. But holding figures that some fans want hostage as a tactic backfired on them in the EoV campaign and I think it would be risky for them to try to do the same thing with this. At least with the G.I. Joe HasLabs we know the figures are variants of figures that will be released at retail (except the blond girl, I suppose). With the Marvel HasLab it has been the only way to get the included 6 inch figures at all and I think it's problematic to go that route with fan desired characters.
Anyway - we'll see what if any lessons Hasbro learned from the last Marvel Haslab attempt.
If Corridor Crew has taught me anything it's to be suspicious of shadows that don't match the shade of other shadows. I've a feeling that shadow was digitally painted in.
Unfortunately there's literally no way anybody here at Fwoosh will ever know for sure.
Except for, oh you know, the person who posted the pics, cause they're the ones who took them. Now, whether or not, you want to believe them, that's entirely up to you, but still...If Corridor Crew has taught me anything it's to be suspicious of shadows that don't match the shade of other shadows. Galactus was 32",the Sentinel was 26.3" so if this is to be Giant Man, 20" tops.
I hope it's like some of you speculated and is several larger big guys and or gals.
It would be interesting if it were Janet as when she was a Giant.
Lights and sounds would be grossly inappropriate for Giant-Man, so I'm guessing this will be cheaper. He'll also be smaller and require less paint than Galactus or the Sentinel. Remains to be seen whether that means we're looking at ~$250 or $350, but I'm willing to bet it'll be a less expensive campaign.
Honestly, I don't know if I can justify to myself a $300-$400 figure that I already have a version of that I am happy with. The ToyBiz BAF still holds up, for the most part. MAYBE if the tiers are just phenomenal, but even then...finances are tight these days.
I tend to agree. If it's the same costume as the TB BAF and the tiers aren't "must-haves", I'd rather save some money and buy the BAF for ~$175 (sold mine off many years ago, sadly).
If Galactus and the Sentinel were any indication, there may be a flood of Toy Biz BAFs back on the market before long.
