Drunk posting is...always fun.
I do like the Phoenix idea but that's got to be priced as a lay-up for Hasbro.
A few things:
-Have Dwight, Dan, Ryan, Steve, Jesse or anybody else on the team officially commented on the possibility on non-possibility of Hasbro including the Skrull head? On Dwight's last Insta post, a lot of people asked, but he didn't respond to anyone. If none of the team have yet, maybe it's being discussed. Maybe we'll hear tomorrow at the Pulse thing, right before the event in the UK where Ryan would be inundated with questions about it.
-Future HasLab ideas regarding large team building: Imperial Guard, Serpent Society, etc. - I'm all for it if the campaign can wipe out a good portion of the team.
-A total win-win would be a HasLab featuring the characters they cannot release at retail due to Disney being prudes. At the bar minimum let's start with a combination of Mephisto and his throne, as much underboob as they can get away Madeline Pryor and classic Daimon Hellstorm with the cape, trident and pentagram on his chest. Add in Satannish, Satana in the original purple plunging neckline costume, Lilith Drake with the similar plunging neckline costume and any other religion-based name demon or supernatural woman in a skimpy costume.
OK, I'm lost. anybody want to translate the above posts for me?
I think the take away is that the lead content of water sources is dangerously high in some parts of this country.

See, I really see this as something they are avoiding just because there's no win for them here. If they decide 'y'know what, we got close let's toss the skrull head in anyway' - then noone believes in a final number for future campaigns and there may always be questions about how far away is too far away to throw in a bonus... but if they answer "no" people get mad at them because it's only 100 backers off and the fans deserve it or whatever and they're pilloried for being the greedy toy company.
Silence is legitimately their best option at this point. I expect them at their collector event thing to celebrate Giant Man getting across the finish line and showing off the Wasp. I do not expect them to tell everyone they're throwing in the Skrull head anyway. I will be legitimately stunned if they do that.

I would buy big box sets of those characters in a heartbeat. I would love if they pivoted to that option.

Keep in mind that this is all HASBRO's decision to include it or not, and HASBRO telling the folks in front of the camera to not comment. Dwight and co are not sitting around weighing the pros and cons of answering this question, the decision is made for them. I don't think this situation takes too much over thinking. "Why aren't Dwight and co answering this question?" It's because they are directed not to by their boss. "Will Dwight and co be nice and throw in something extra because it was super duper close?" Maybe if Dwight and co ran the company, but being that it's Hasbro that's making this call, you can operate under the assumption that the answer is a hard no. The money is in their pocket and there was no asterisk in the fine print that said, "Unless it's within 100 or so backers". It's done.
Jay C posted on Marvelous News that someone at Hasbro commented on the Skrull head at something called MCM London:
https://marvelousnews.com/252-34130
Earlier this week the Marvel Legends Haslab campaign for Giant Man ended with 13,889 backers which put it just shy of unlocking the second stretch goal for the Skrull faceplate. To be exact it came up 111 backers shy of the 14k needed for that item to be included.
Because it was so close to be unlocked, many have felt that perhaps Hasbro would just go on and include the faceplate as a thank you to those who backed the campaign. Well Tarot informs us that word out of MCM London is that Hasbro will not be including the Skrull faceplate due to cancellations they have gotten since it the campaign ended. No word what the new final count is with the cancellations.
Hasbro did suggest we could see the faceplate released in some kind of future set, but that nothing was yet set in stone.
Yeah we were close before cancellations.
Begging for the SKrull head reminded me of Joe fans begging for Ketchup and Mustard because they were "close" but after cancellations technically the second tier wasn't even reached.
My school's marathon drive just ended, the window for turning in money for prizes has closed. My 4th grade class got prizes for making their 25%, 50%, and 75% of their classroom goal. They were just shy of 100%.....like mid 90's. They asked if they can still have their prize for 100% since it was so close. I told them no, they did a great job raising money, but we were just short of 100% so that's it.
It reminds me of this Haslab.
Hand grenades would have spiced up dodgeball so much in the fourth grade.
All Hasbro would have had to do is say that international orders got the project over the 14k mark. Nobody outside of Hasbro would have been any wiser.
They could have seemingly kept their word about tiers and generate some goodwill in the process. Oh well.

But the international orders didn't get it over the hump. It didn't fund enough despite getting close

Now we know that because it’s been disclosed.
I’m saying they could have made it appear like it crossed the 14k even if it in fact did not. Only they know the true amount of backers.
That being said, anyone who may think that they went out and bumped up the amount just to make it appear like a success is also delusional. No way they’re buying thousands of units themselves.
