Great conclusion! I’m very happy that Giant-Man funded. Looks like such an impressive figure! He’s going to make any Avengers display look amazing.
I was nervous about this one funding after the bitter disappointment last year. So this is a win that feels extra nice. Wish we could have gotten the Skrull head.
Apocalypse would probably be the closest to a safe bet.
He's definitely their best bet if they try another big character. They'd need to go conservative on the backer count though and work the pricing out so that it funds somewhere between 4K to 8K backers.
That zombie head is going into a box never to be seen again for the majority of us. Same is true for the Skrull head, but a lot more of us would use that than the zombie one which I assume is why Ryan made it the final tier. Let us get there, Steve Evans! 😪
I'm not sure what you're basing that on, I'd assume the two are more or less equal in desirability. I've seen more people complaining that the Skrull head was second, but i think if it was reversed you'd have seen the same, as the people who wanted the zombie head first had no reason to complain. Personally, I wanted the Zombie head way more as I really like the zombie figures they have given us and it might make them give us more to make a cool display. The Skrulls wouldn't look as cool together IMO.
The Skrull Head was probably the final tier because it required making an entire head, not just a face.
But...They better do the Skrull head regardless. It won't cost them anything, but it'll show they kinda care.We gave them an easy pay day for doing the bare minimum. People should be demanding this from them now, given everything that's happened, either give us Skrull head or extend the campaign for another hour.
How on earth would having to make 14,000 Skrull heads not cost them anything? Honestly, from Hasbro's financial perspective, it's probably better for them that this finished 111 shy rather than 111 over, because now they don't have to make all those heads.
I really want that Skrull head, but I’m not holding my breath. I can totally see them sticking to their guns and not throwing it in as a “bonus”.
I'm glad I was able to back this though. I think a huge Apocalypse would be pretty cool if they’re doing another large figure next time around.
Really, really fun Reddit thread about a guy there who promised to eat a shoe if Giant-Man funded. 🤣

Soooooooo elated that Giant-Man made it over the hump to get funded, and with nearly 4k more backers than what we needed! Things sure were looking bleak for a while. I randomly decided to check and see how it was doing around 7pm EST last night and saw that the little counter just kept going up with every refresh. Wild that THAT many people jumped on it. I think FOMO hit a lot of fence-sitters in a big way when the numbers didn't lie and started to spell disaster for them at Sacrifice.
I put in an order for a second one JUST to try and give it a little more traction around the 7,300 mark yesterday, not expecting it to do much, but maybe a lot of other backers did the same? I'll probably sit on it for a bit when it gets here and trade it into my comic store for some sizeable store credit, which, to me, is just as good as real moolah since I'm going to eventually spend it anyway. Bah Gahd, FINALLY, I can stop kicking myself for selling my ToyBiz Giant-Man on Ebay in 2012.
I very personally want to see the next one be a hall of armor or modular play set, like danger room. And should use the order limit to make for larger displays if we want to go big
Jesse Falcon was really proud of the Disney Toy Box hall of armor set they did that he made sure was compatible with Marvel Legends, so it seems unlikely they'd do that again as a Haslab. You could do it in a far more premium way than they did with the Toy Box pods, but they're already really, really nice. I love those things and bought like 6 or 8 sets.
Plus they can easily do that at retail or as fan channel or Pulse exclusive. As many Iron Mans as we already have that'd be an incredible army-building item that should sell decently. I'm sure most of us couldn't get one of those Disney Toy Box sets, and as far as I know they never sold them after their initial run in 2019 or 2020, so it'd be a great item to do again under Hasbro Marvel Legends branding this time.
Hopefully collectors would start selling their MU Goliaths and SDCC Giant Man for cheap in ebay hahaha. Those are the things I can afford at the moment.
The Skrull faceplate probably wouldn't cost more than a few dollars per figure to produce, given it is just a single piece of plastic with some paint apps, no assembly required. If it is financially feasible at 14,000 units, it is financially feasible at 13,900. Having said that, adding it opens up a can of worms for them if the next HasLab is 250 short of a tier do they add or not? So while it would be a nice gesture to do so this time, it sadly might lead to future complaints or expectations.
I also like those Disney Toy Box Hall of Armor modules, I think Hasbro would make a good amount of money if they sold the armor bays one at a time with black/chrome paint apps as a Pulse army builder.
If Foom came with removable pants, so fantasy figure collectors who might want a 36" long dragon to display with their non-Marvel stuff could use it, it could succeed. But I think Apocalypse would be a better bet, the X-Men are pretty popular. Not for me though.
I think the more interesting question is do we get essentially a repaint of this figure as Goliath down the road as a Pulse offering.

The Shrull Tier was a complete full head, not just the faceplate.
They have an inherent problem with giving backers the Skull head without having it unlocked. That would give future backers a false sense of not having to reach the goals for tiers. If they do it once, it will be expected in the future.
At the other side of the spectrum, how many people will potentially cancel all or part of their orders now that the army building aspect has been taken away? Without a Skull head, some may not want more than 2 or however many they ordered.
It's a tricky situation that I certainly don't envy them for having to choose what to do.

Forgot that it had the ears added so needed a whole head...
Maybe they could do a Skrull faceplate and split the difference - not the whole head, but a bonus for being close the Tier.
I think it would be a huge mistake for Hasbro to throw in the Skrull head. I'm pretty sure Hasbro is fully aware of this though, which I why we wont see it happen.
While I feelk most people that want it, really just want it because of perceived value of the kickstarter, I also think there's a small number of fans that would actually use the Skrull head. Appeasing them would not be worth going back on their word and basically devaluing the kickstarter process for future projects.
I wonder if they could give backers a choice of Skrull head OR Zombie head? It wouldn’t make much difference to me, but I would probably choose Skrull head even though I have the MU Giant Skrull. I don’t like the zombie head because usually zombies have white out irises. The visible/normal-ish irises throw me off. And the other zombies we have aren’t comic Marvel Zombies, they’re MCU What If Zombies, so they technically wouldn’t work together. Zombie Giant Man would work well with those Marvel Select Zombies though, and I don’t have them.
If they do it once, it will be expected in the future.
Not if Steve Evans calls Ryan Ting and asks him to find 11,780 votes 111 backers, and Ryan quietly complies.
Nobody else has to know... 😎
