I think they might still need to factor in cancellations. That 13889 final number is nuts, but there could still be fluctuation either way, right? And if it dips, that's certainly less incentive to just throw in the Skrull head.

How has the number not already decreased?  Surely ONE person ordered an extra trying to get it to fund or to reach a stretch goal, but then when it fell short wanted to cancel the extra.

One answer is that maybe they're not allowing cancellations right now, or maybe the number is just frozen for now and not counting cancellations yet.  But I vaguely recall past Haslabs slowly decreasing a bit after they closed including the very next day, so I'm surprised this count isn't decreasing yet.

Looking back at the Skystriker the final two tiers didn't get funded, and the count as it shows now was about 1,000 away from the second tier--although I'm guessing it was less than that the night it ended and cancellations reduced it further.  Bummer to get SO close and not make it particularly when it's pretty clear that extending by one day would be a win for everyone.

That zombie head is going into a box never to be seen again for the majority of us.  Same is true for the Skrull head, but a lot more of us would use that than the zombie one which I assume is why Ryan made it the final tier.  Let us get there, Steve Evans!  😪

now commence speculation as to what they do for the next HasLab... do they stick with another big guy now, or go with a vehicle, playset, or roleplay item.  hmmm

There's no other realistic big guy.  Dozens of us will say Fin Fang Foom, but that's a fantasy.  He wouldn't fund.  The only way to think he would is to ignore the low supply of the BAF and the extremely low popularity of the character.  There's also an issue with the name.  There shouldn't be any issue with it, but there inevitably would be--particularly in China.  That's also why we'll never see him in the MCU.

If there's another next year it'll be a vehicle, playset, or roleplay item.  My guess is we get nothing next year.

Congrats to those who backed this project. It wasn't without drama, but I always figured it would eventually get there on the final day. As for all of that talk about big takeaways for Hasbro, I guess it's something between "never underestimate the power of FOMO" or that their fans are playing a game of chicken with them to see who reacts first. By adding to campaigns during the process, they created incentive for people to hold out until the end to see if the company sweetens the pot. It didn't happen here, but it still made it across the finish line. Perhaps the only take-away for Hasbro will simply be that they've reset expectations and maybe there will be less of that in the future. Or, mankind is just inherently a bunch of procrastinators and anything can happen on the final day.

Good to see the surge yesterday. I practically had to lock myself up like a werewolf last night to keep from backing.

And I'm sure there's a Haslab coming next year and the years to follow. They had trouble with one campaign, otherwise it's been nothing but success.

I do agree that it won't be another big guy. My guess would be a playset at this point.

I can't imagine a Fin Fang Foom becoming a reality. It would require so much more articulation in the neck and tail. It is really niche with little to no media tie in to support it. It would probably wind up being a lower run, which would in turn increase its price proportionately. I'm personally wiped out, monetarily, spatially, and psychologically! If it did become a HasLab offering, I'd back for FOMO, but it would be reluctant, and I'm pretty sure I'd be priced out anyway.

I'm far less skeptical about Foom after how well Giant-Man finished. A great execution (like all the Haslabs have been) and some desired figures thrown in would go a long way - though if he would have to cost $500 like has been said then that's probably a deal breaker. I'd also like to throw out there that I don't think the name would be a problem, or at least not from any serious person. It's clearly a play on "Fee-fi-fo-fum" and not derogatory, and contrary to popular belief most people aren't out searching for things to be outraged by.

A modular Danger Room set that encourages multiple purchases seems like a solid possibility, but there's no telling what that would look like or what it would cost - or how many sets you'd need to make it worth it. I'm just happy this was a success!

I wonder how many less of this thing would have sold without the scummy Kickstarter method. If it had instead been a normal Pulse/fan channel exclusive.

You just inadvertently illustrated why the name is a problem--people will just guess why it's like that, and as you just did they're almost guaranteed to guess wrong.  China will immediately guess wrong just as they did with the MCU Shang-Chi movie.  Most people will think it's a play on the infamous slur against the Chinese people and their language that I won't go into here that many or most of us who are 40 and above have heard many times during our lives.  That's not at all correct, but that won't stop large portions of the media from doing it.  Ryan and Dan won't risk that kind of media coverage.

The reality of the name is that we don't have to guess where it came from because Stan Lee told us--it's a play on the title of a 1934 movie adapted from a long-running play that Stan had seen called Chu Chin Chow.

I'd guess that at least one takeaway from this HasLab and the EOV our Hasbro team would greatly consider is adding at least one figure as a tier, but one that 1) makes sense and 2) is a repaint/not critical like if they did a Fantasticar and the figure was Johnny in the red version of his FF costume or human Ben Grimm.

did they officially write-off doing large team sets or was that just conjecture?

I'm not entirely sure FFF would have the notoriety draw without great tiers, nor would Celestials.  Apocalypse would probably be the closest to a safe bet.  I feel like with the lack of sure-fire big characters & vehicles being relatively unimportant to the Marvel/legends brand compared to GI Joe then doing large teams that stand very little chance of most members making it to retail would be an option.  The Imperial Guard immediately comes to mind

Glad to see this funded.

But...They better do the Skrull head regardless. It won't cost them anything, but it'll show they kinda care.We gave them an easy pay day for doing the bare minimum. People should be demanding this from them now, given everything that's happened, either give us Skrull head or extend the campaign for another hour.

I very personally want to see the next one be a hall of armor or modular play set, like danger room. And should use the order limit to make for larger displays if we want to go big
