@schizm was trying to drown out the people bragging about their Bratz cars. Incessantly.

This year will very probably show it. 1k people crawled out of the shadows in the last few hours. 5 to go. The 'influencers' who know they'll need the clicks for a review will come out saying they backed soon. Always supported it. Etc.

I just searched Haslab Giant Man on Youtube.  Don't make the same mistake.

My favorite thing about these big Haslab figures is those articulated fingers. Aesthetically this guy mostly looks like a huge version of a Vulcan mold figure, but those fingers make it entirely unique.  SO many extra posing options with those fingers.

And I really do hope that the engineering on the final version of this guy makes him as posable as he looks to be in Dwight's pictures. Both the Sentinel and Galactus really don't have a lot of posing options that aren't just centered around them standing straight up in some way.  You can get them into kneels and very limited leans, but nowhere near as many different options as you have with smaller figures.  I'm sure the weight of Giant-Man will eliminate a lot of poses that a 6-inch figure could achieve, but he definitely looks like he'll be able to get a lot more poses than the Sentinel or Galactus. It'll be fun exploring his posing space once we have him in hand.

I was skeptical he would fund until the pace picked up a few hours ago, but the current pace makes it look like he will fund now.  It ain't over yet though, so everybody go out there and keep backing!

As we inch closer to the deadline, I find myself less ambivalent and more invested. I think part of my apathetic view was a defense mechanism to allay any disappointment in the case it didn't fund. Anyway, we're Very close to 9K now. I've got a good feeling about it.

Even if this plays out like a soap opera, I wonder if this is a marketing ploy to keep people on the edge of their seats

with 5 hrs left we are almost close to victory

As a software developer my guess about the count discrepancy between the international sites is that they don't synchronize the count between the sites in real time. Maybe it's every few hours, or maybe it's done overnight.  Some sites may also synchronize on a different schedule from the others due to technical limitations in the region.

I probably could have checked that a few days ago, but I've still never been to one of the international sites.  I tried going to one during the Dragonfly campaign, but it wouldn't come up for me and I never looked for a way to circumvent the region checking code that prevents an American like myself from getting to those sites.

The count is absolutely flying right now. It's increasing at a rate of something like 10 backers every minute!!!  🤩 🤩 🤩

Down to 199 needed per hour. The number keeps dropping so we are definitely picking up speed.

1000 backers in the last 5 hours  should be doabie... that's still an average of 200 per hour.   Do we really think there are droves of people waiting until literally the last hour to pledge though?   Who are those people?   Drama queens?  Savior complexes?

FOMO and impulse multiple purchases, maybe, @panthercult? I'm sitting here contemplating backing a second one, and I don't know why. I don't "invest" in figures, that's not how I derive joy from my collection, so I'm not sure what's got me close to pulling the trigger on a second one.
