He backed Giant Man! Now is not the time to pick fights! We are all on the same backer team.

I'm honestly not picking a fight, I'm really not.  And you're right.  It's not important.  Moving on.

I wonder if it actually starts losing backers when people start realizing that they won't hit the extra tiers.

@sdcomics No, I don’t think it’s contradictory because I’m pointing to a wrinkle you may not be seeing. I said what I did because during EoV campaign, I noticed the browbeating of those that chose to support. Some detractors went as far as actually pillorying supporters’ decision to buy. Accusations of ‘sheeple’ (a popular invective bandied about nowadays) and shaming those enthusiastic about the Haslab was part of it all. As someone said previously, check out the Ark. It became ugly, at times, and rooting for these campaigns to fail is a real dynamic.

@asm I can't see it being too substantial. THe extra tiers are mostly meaningless.

It's going to get to 9K at least I would think. I don't understand why Hasbro wouldn't do all they could to get it across the line at this point (extend for a few days, add the tiers into the base offering, setting 9K as the base). Adding the tiers alone would get it past what would have been needed originally. There are a lot of fence sitters who get last-minute FOMO.

The other thing is if two Marvel HasLabs in a row fail, then HasLabs are done for the brand.

It's looking like it's going the barely squeak through to me!

Well, if it gets close but doesn't quite make it, I hope Hasbro gives it an extension.

Im definitely not expecting that, but would welcome it personally if it doesn't make it by the countdown.

I still believe that this is going to fund, and probably by more easily than is apparent right now. However, IF it doesn't then I think the right move for Hasbro and the Brand team would be to take a year off from Legends HasLabs. Let people miss it for a year. They could always do a role play item or something instead (and I have zero interest in anything like that, personally). Let people be shocked when they don't announce one next year and maybe people will be more open to it the following year when they do announce one again. I think that would be my strategy. Maybe not even a whole year off, but announce it in early 2025 instead of the fall of 2024... let people think that they're done for awhile.

I think that the Rancor was only about 100 people short and they let it fail but that was a different team though.

I have a feeling that the time off might happen regardless. Right now it seems like the oversized figures are running out of gas, and though there's a few vehicles that might work (Fantasticar would seem most likely), the EoV might've put them off it for the near term. Just not sure what else will really sway folks into big figure purchases like this.

If it has good momentum but falls just short at the bell I really hope they consider this! It's been a mostly positive campaign, and extending it stands a good chance of reaching the goal.

With that they threw in an entirely new figure. I am sure they were hoping it would sky rocket the backing but because it stayed fairly flatline, it wasn't worth doing and it was best to just cut losses. With Giantman, we just won't get the tier heads and Hasbro might even just fudge it to get it over 10k to fund and move forward.

Yeah we've heard the argument that they don't want to set expectations by doing these sorts of maneuvers, but honestly these campaigns have all been run slightly different anyway so does that really matter? If it does fall short I'd love to see them do *anything* to try and get it across - seems worth it to have to scramble a bit at the last minute to get that revenue, and I agree with you that a relatively small value-add could have a big net effect on total backers.

It's added nearly 100 backers in the last 20 minutes... if it keeps up that pace it is definitely getting funded.
