Bucky Cap arrived, and honestly he’s great.

Gotta love the flex of packing him with the exact same knife the original version came with.

Bucky Cap also arrived for me. The old one looks like a teenager next to this. Wish they would fix the forearm glove line. Having it sculpted into a body they intentionally made for re-use is so lazy.

I wonder if the Haslab will be a Pym/Ultron family tree set:

1. Giantman

2. Pymtron

3. FA Janet

4. FA Wonderman

5 Vision

6 Alkhema

I would love this lineup!! But for a wave of Legends. Because I want them all. Probably more than one of each, because I frequently buy an extra of my favorites, and these are all favorites. But making them all in a Haslab would be frustrating.

The scale creep has been outrageous. Legends will be 7.25" before long.

To me, it isn't so much that the new Bucky Cap is too big, it's that the old one was too small.

Someone will come along in a day or two and take much better pictures than me, but this new Bucky Cap is a huge improvement in my opinion.

They have to have another way to keep reselling figures besides just making incremental improvements.  At some point they will make perfect figures, but then they will be too small.  Enter scale creep for the win.

Comic Bucky Barnes is listed at 5'9", if anyone still follows those stats. That should make him significantly shorter than a Captain America figure, or the Vulcan body. The original Barnes Cap is probably better scaled to those figures, but he has a very small head, proportionately. This new one really looks great, but I think he's way too tall, just by pics I've seen. Like the recent Winter Soldier figure from the Crimson Dynamo wave. TOO tall. Hopefully I'll get to compare soon. Tracking for Barnes and Joe Fixit at first, showed me no movement for the former, and that the latter was in transit. When I checked this morning, that had reversed, with Fixit not having left, and Barnes to arrive tomorrow. I don't know what to believe!

I think it's a huge improvement in all areas but scale. As NORM said, Bucky is 5'9. At that point, it depends on whether you think Legends should be a true 1/12 line or something closer to 6.5". I would prefer a true 1/12 line, but obviously Legends has been going in this direction since it started. The bell can't be unrung without massive financial setback to everyone who collects it. It's akin to taking over the DC line, traditionally a 6" line, and making 7" figures. 😉 Some people might think it's better, but others either stop collecting the line or start with the new line from scratch.

Of course there are small inaccuracies scattered across ML (Kitty is huge, Lady Deathstrike is tiny, and now Bucky is massive), but if we use the new Bucky Cap as a baseline for ML, suddenly it's nearly a 1/10 line.

I finally opened the Destroyer/Masterson Thor 2-pack. I'm not happy that once again Masterson's head sculpt is overly proportioned. The head sculpts look great and all but too big compared to 80th's Thor and even cosmic Thor.

I don't understand how hard it would have been to give the digital sculpt to the sculptor explain to them to just tweak the facial expression a little, add the mask and beard to one and just the beard to another. Hasbro ML team may want to consider hiring out 2D sculpts from the GI Joe team. 2D would get the head sculpts right each and every time.

The only thing about Bucky Cap being on the Vulcan body is he shouldn't be on the same size body as Vision.

Hasbro could have put together a new body slightly taller than 80th Cap and used that body for Cyclops, Hawkeye, Vision, Silver Surfer, Grim Reaper, Classic Dracula and probably a few others.

I would think a 6' character on a 6" buck would make perfect sense. It's a great figure but it does bother me that he's on this buck..

Re Bucky Cap: You could argue the 5’9” was him as a teen in WWII and that he’s closer to 6’ now as an adult. So the Sunfire/Bullseye body was the best one for his character. Stats-wise he should be about Spider-Man’s height and Sunfire’s build. And since they were going to resculpt the chest, they could’ve re-used any previous body. He looks smaller next to the 20th Anniversary Cap, so in that sense he’s “OK”. But yes, he should not be the same height as Vision, Vulcan, Cyclops, or Hawkeye. Since Hasbro has thrown any adherence to stats to the wind, I just want new figures to scale properly against others. And new BuckyCap is still too damn big.
