Maximum Hulk went up for sale on Amazon today and I was surprised it was only $60.Entertainment Earth has Max Hulk listed at $74.99.
For what it's worth, BBTS has it listed at $60 as well, which would be consistent with their "we'll hit you with the tariff increase when the product comes in" policy they announced. Seems like EE is trying to hedge their tariff bets up front. It's an interesting strategy, as I think psychologically most people will still pull the trigger on the $60 pre-order and roll the dice on the subsequent actual cost.
I was at my local Wal-Mart today and there are no longer any pegs or shelf tags for ML. That said, the toy section was restocked and all the Marvel stuff was cheaper kiddie toys like Titan Heroes, the smaller figs, and role-play.
Maybe I'm jumping the gun, but aside from exclusives they can sell online, I'm assuming they saw the tariff writing on the wall and they're out of the ML biz. Also, that space is now used for faster-moving, cheaper "shut the kid up" items.
I'm sure we'll get the classic Falcon costume in the SW wave. Would be cool if they did a chase Green repaint, but those days are gone. Very worried about the look of many other figs, Owl especially - classic is all I care about, but considering the costs of tooling they'd need to do, I'm not super-optimistic.
Surprised there's no classic Ock on retro card with bendy tentacles yet. That'll be a $40-$50 fig at this point. I hope they don't pivot to Ultimate on him because I want a classic carded version to go with my other retro carded Spidey figs.
To ansewr someone else's question about Ultimates, I thought they said the figs were going to be top-down new sculpts, but Hulk clearly is not and I think they pointed out a couple of re-use parts on Spidey, who is mostly all-new, so I may be confused. I like the color of this Hulk and the while headsculpts are appropriate to the era when he was that color, but they ae too goofy looking to get me to pop. I predict he will be a clearance item, might pick him up at $40 for the accessories, but even those are kind of underwhelming.
Like a lot of you (I assuming us older, "classic" look-favoring collectors) I'm finding that Hasbro character choices are reducing the number of MLs I've been buying year over year for some time now. Add in the tariffs and it'll be even easier to skip non-classic Namorita and wait for them to do classic (or not), for instance.
Sure wish they'd finish the f'n Inhumans before I die.
When I hear the name "Marvel Legends", I envision some ultimate series of Marvel figures where all the characters are the definitive, most famous iconic looks. I feel like that what Toy Biz tried to do (with arguable success) back in the day.
Now it's all about "this is close, but..." or straight "we'll give you the character in a random costume that a lot of people don't care about". This kind of thing works, but it gets tiresome over time. And don't even get me started on Team Building. All the Inhumans except Crystal and Lockjaw are look like outdated crap now.
With all this uncertainty and tariffs stuff, stop releasing bullshit, complete the teams and give us iconic looks.
I think Walmarts have a willy nilly approach to what changes during resets. Both of mine are still carrying Legends like the All-star MCU figures with Cap and Spidey and they just put out Retro Spidey wave and pegs for the Mini-Comic wave. One of the two took down everything Gi Joe Classified but the other one still has them and the newest wave to boot. I have no idea how they determine what store gets what but I have seen peg space for ML come and go frequently over the years.
I know the latest Walmart reset has pegs for the mini comics ML figures. They seem to be going more in on the retro card lines and the ones similar to them. They may feel a bit burned by the regular waves considering how long it took to get rid of a bunch of the last few lines they carried.

I started collecting during Toy Biz (2003ish) and have a ton of love for that era, but that is not really my impression of how they approached the line. I remember the endless discussions (on these very boards!) about the TB approach of trying to do a meld of looks into one meta-iconic design. I'm fairly confident I remember Jesse Falcon explicitly saying that was their method in some cases. So while you had the "straight from the page" figures like series 1 Cap or Iron Man, you had others like Storm, Doc Ock, Punisher, Maestro, and plenty of others that were weird amalgamations of multiple designs.
