Medusa and Gorgon -   Rinse and repeat.   I have multiple Medusa figures in the collection.  Unless this is Medusa in her FF costume I hardly need her again.    But Gorgon is a must have.    Of course he couldn't be packed with Triton,  or Maximus,  hell even Psynapse.    But this is how they get you.    I'm sure for me to get Triton in two years they will pack him with Black Bolt or a re-release of Crystal or some other way to charge me for something I would otherwise not buy.  Sigh.

Good news! A Triton/Black Bolt two pack is already rumored for next year!

I'm actually ok with a new Black Bolt - the existing ones are hella underwhelming. I'm assuming the Vulcan body, but maybe by some miracle they'll see fit to develop a new body of similar size with proper torso/waist articulation. Pipe dreams. Hoping they come up with a better solution for the wings this time, too.

The existing Medusas I'm more or less fine with, but you can definitely see plenty of directions they could go. Different looks she's had that haven't been made, or just redo the classic but go all-out with poseable hair. I'm not saying it will be, but it could be something I'd be more than happy to rebuy.

Has there ever been a source for this no duplicates claim?

My source is the team - Dwight specifically - telling me that very thing to my face two years in a row at San Diego Comic Con when I asked about M'Baku and Skurge when Black Panther and Ragnarok were filming and came out.

I'm sure the team has said it in interviews and other places as well.  But they have told me directly to my face when I asked.

I feel like in recent years they've explained that this "rule" been broadly overinterpreted. Does "no duplicates" mean Skurge can't be made 7 years after Ragnarok was released? Or just that Marvel doesn't want multiple different looks of minor characters fighting for merch attention around the time of a major film release? I would assume the latter, especially considering all the characters we *have* seen get made despite MCU appearances.

I just remember how long it took to get a comic style Loki once the MCU started, obviously they’re over it now, but they went for a long, long time before putting one out. I really don’t get the reasoning for characters like Skurge, who would look almost exactly the same just bigger.

Re: the Punisher/Fury set: if accurate, I’ll bet it’s based on the old Punisher arcade game where you could play as Frank or Nick. Frank would be classic-ish with white boots and gloves, and Nick would be in a bomber jacket and fatigue pants, not his SHIELD uni.

I'm into it. I've never had the chance to play this game, but I'm down with an "out of uniform" Fury. His colors remind me of Clay Quartermain.

No idea if this is official game art or fan art, just sharing cause it looks cool. Who's the big guy in the upper right?

I answered my own question, because I'm a resourceful lad with access to the World Wide Web. The bald gentleman in question is Chester Scully, who made a handful of appearances in the Punisher solo book in 1989. More info here.

Agreed -  honestly the Legends team was fairly expansive about this approach at the time.   They didn't want "confusion" for consumers looking for the characters they knew from the movies so they avoided comic versions of anyone who wasn't a main character.

Now, of course,  with the movie appearances years in the rearview the excuse for excluding them is that the characters aren't "hot" so it's not the right time.  It's lose, lose for us.

When I saw that rumored list on reddit, it felt too good to be true.

FF She-Hulk, Deathbird, Astonishing Beast, and Rachel Summers are all huge needs. That Nick Fury design looks sick, and Punisher always sells. Teasing aside, I'm glad you Inhumans folks may finally finish that team soon.

I assume Hellfire Miles will be this look:

I'm actually excited about Sorcerer Supreme Doom, too. That could be a cool figure.

Gladiator & Deathbird Two Pack -  sigh... Gladiator... again.   Will they do anything different?   It's egregious to me that they will force me to re-buy a character I've bought multiple times already to get one I desperately want.   But Hasbro gonna Hasbro.

I'm a big fan of Gladiator, so I admit I don't mind getting him again regardless, but my own personal hope is that he's on the new Hyperion buck. That's a really nice buck, and would look amazing as Gladiator. He may potentially use the old head and cape, but that's fine by me.

Gorgon is obviously the most exciting thing on that list - with him and Triton done, the Inhumans shelf suddenly looks a lot healthier. I’m cautiously optimistic about Medusa too - if they do something more exciting with the hair, with a load more volume, she could look awesome. With Elektra and She Hulk in recent years, they’ve got loads better at doing those vintage hairdos. If they just repaint the old one again… sigh.

I’m down for Deathbird again, though the Gladiator tax is irksome. I’ve never been as crazy for Rachel as everyone else, but she’s clearly a glaring hole in loads of collections. Hopefully they nail the look most people want (Excalibur?). I’ll probably grab her too.

Gladiator was my number one for a long long time and I was glad we got him, but I always disliked the body they put the original figure on, because to me he's better on a slimmer body.

Hellfire Miles sounds like something Ghost Rider uses when traveling.

Both excited to think we might be getting Rachel and concerned to think what version they might give us that isn't Excalibur/Hound Rachel.

Yeah. Either it's no longer a thing or they exaggerated the extent to which it was a thing given we've had multiple instances of MCU villains having their comic counterparts made. I'd love for someone to ask them about it in an interview.

New rumors for 2025, sourced to a video from the "Power of X-Men Podcast" YouTube channel. I don't know a thing about this source and haven't watched the video - I just saw the reddit thread.

https://old.reddit.com/r/MarvelLegends/comments/1h637xt/2025_further_leaks/

Spoiler
Rumored list
Fantastic Four She-Hulk

Punisher & Nick Fury Two Pack

Sorcerer Supreme Doom

Hellfire Miles

Gladiator & Deathbird Two Pack

Astonishing Beast

Rachel Summers

Medusa and Gorgon

Huge grain of salt on this. But pretty great if it ends up true!

Congrats to the Rachel Summers fans!

Astonishing Beast is huge, we're now a good way into the Astonishing team. We really just need Kitty, Colossus and Armor now.

Hellfire Miles is an odd choice... it's a cool look but this would be the first time we've gotten a Hellfire Gala look, right? Strange for it to not actually be an X-Men character.

Although not the only ones that I'd likely buy, I find the prospect of Deathbird and Gorgon to be the most exciting of that most recent set of rumors.

Let's be honest - if anyone exaggerated how much of a thing it was it was probably us, not them!
