Hasbro isn’t allowed to lose the license until I get yellow costume Daredevil from the She-Hulk show.
And I get my Swordsman & Mantis 2-pack and Skurge, PantherCult gets M'Baku, Thor-El gets the Warrior's Three and SDcomics gets Jim Hammond Human Torch and Toro.
If ML ends before I get all of these plus Jack of Hearts, Stingray, and the rest of the Inhumans I'm flying to Rhode Island and bopping all the execs right on the nose.
Echoing what some others mentioned - this is not the same as other times licenses were possibly shifting. Cocks seems to be a renegade with his eye on a radical shift. I hope cooler heads prevail over there, but it seems like a strong possibility. Hasbro keeping the license is also a strong possibility but between Cocks, Disney's abysmal track record since Endgame and Hasbro eating losses on Disney IP it makes more sense to walk away. That was not the case in prior years.
I'm just gonna enjoy the great stuff coming and expect Hasbro Legends to continue beyond 2026 but more like what we saw in 2024 and maybe with other companies having their hat in the ring too. Maybe no Star Wars (?) If they drop toys altogether and I'm buying 3 Transformers a year from Flame Toys well then....the end is nigh.
All the things people are listing as wants, remember that whoever gets the license more than likely will be using the Marvel Legends brand as well. These things may yet get made even if Hasbro doesn't do then. It's just going to depend on who takes over and what they want to do with it. Hypothetically, of course.
Hasbro has to make Madcap, and of course the Basil Elks Basilisk, for me. 😉 😀

I am very happy to join your crusade for Basilisk. He's pushing toward my top ten!
And Madcap too, of course...
Dan also mentioned there is a focus on team completion in 2026.
Is that because:
-That's what collectors have wanted for years and they are finally listening to us.
-They know that it's possible they lose the license, so they are going out with a bang and completing some teams just in case.
Has to be the second one. The new-ish CEO clearly wants to move Hasbro in a different direction with a focus on profitability at the expense of losing a bunch of less profitable revenue. Seems to be there's a big chance Hasbro becomes a second tier more specialized toy brand going forward that doesn't do major licenses like Marvel or Star Wars.
Glad the Marvel team seems to be aware that there's a really good chance they lose the line after 2026. Twenty-five (mostly uninterrupted) years is a very long run for a toy line. On some level, I almost welcome a toy line ending, because I can't remember the last time that happened besides DCUC, which immediately went to McFarlane.
For me, personally, hoping to finish all the early '90s X-Men teams with the core members (Hound Rachel for Excalibur, X-Force Feral) but would also love some of the members that came on later or as reserve/temporary X-Men members like Revanche, prisoner Sabretooth, and Joseph; Feron, Kylun, Cerise, and Micromax from Excalibur; the proper looks for Justice and Namorita from early '90s New Warriors; missing classic Avengers characters like Swordsman, Dr. Druid, classic Mantis, Jack of Hearts, '90s Wonder Man, I could keep going on; and more '90s/classic Spider-Man characters like Cardiac, Carrion, and Swarm.
Some people are reading WAAAAYYY into things. Happens every time the license contract is expiring. They've stated a few years ago they want to complete teams. They're just responding to fans wants. We've known Hasbro pays attention to the Fwoosh Top 10 polls. They have for quite some time. They do listen to fans.

25 years is a good run for anything, especially a toy line. Whenever Hasbro ML ends they can go out with their heads held high in that regard. There's not too much left for me personally. Every Marvel character I have a connection to has been done at least once, but in most cases two, three, four or more times over. I'm covered. Yes, I'd take Rachel Phoenix as would any X-Men fan. And I keep forgetting about this guy, but CARDIAC would be very welcome before Hasbro ML closes up shop (whenever that may be). I started reading Spidey comics when Mark Bagley came on as penciler and Cardiac's first appearance was right around that time too. I always thought that guy was way cool. He's a deeper cut and if the license changes hands, I don't see him coming any time soon if ever. Hasbro might be the only chance for this guy.
Wasn't there some sort of hang up with licensing and ownership of the Cardiac character? That's why he hasn't been made, or at least something to do with it.

That's my understanding as well, though I can't cite any backup source.
I thought that someone asked the creator about that, and his response was "What? I've never heard that before, they can do whatever they want with him."

Welp, there you go. Let's fast track that Cardiac figure.
