Mondo made the animated version of Juggernaut which is just as insanely bulky as the Capcom version, and he's basically a statue which doesn't really surprise me given how articulation in Mondo's figures isn't good anyway. They didn't even TRY to articulate his elbows and knees, so it'll be interesting to see if the Legends team is able to create something faithful to the game's bulk and how much articulation they're able to engineer out of it.
The Mondo version of Juggernaut from the X-Men animated series is shown below. I like the bulk, but I passed because it's pretty much a statue and there are MUCH better Juggernaut statues out there.
That's a stylized vinyl statue/figure. It's not meant to be part of their animated figure line. Pointing out the limitations of articulation in a vinyl figure is kinda silly. They're not really meant to be played with.
With the stated intent of focusing on "finishing teams" in '25 & '26, I can't help but wonder if the brand team is anticipating losing the license in 2027.
I feel like every year there is always something to buy, even if what I buy are mostly re-dos or upgrades, either major or minor. But there are always a couple of net-new figures I can check off my list.
What would I need to feel done with Legends? About 20 I think. My attempt at parsing them by likelihood is below. All are 70s or classic versions. RD = Re-Do.

I love Legends, but if they stopped making them I wouldn't be mad lol.

I also LOLed. But I also feel the same way. It might even benefit me really.

Yep, I can relate to this. I started collecting Legends in the very beginning when my two sons were very small. I wasn't even a comics guy growing up, but my kids loved superheroes. The Legends line actually sparked my interest in comics, not the other way around. 2 decades later, my kids are adults and have zero interest and my house is filled with little plastic men... and I probably spend more now than I ever have on them. How did that happen?? I never dreamed the line would go on so long or that I'd still be buying them... and even replacing figures of characters that I already had with new ones? I think that it's a mental illness.
When I chose to pare down my collecting - why did I pick the one line that would never end? Never die.
@enforcer well see, I wonder if part of the appeal is having an ongoing, living collection. If it was finite and you reached your ultimate list, would you still enjoy it? Would the act of simply having them give you pleasure? Or is acquiring where it's really at? I wonder about that but not enough to scare myself into quitting, because the answer is probably that my collection owns me.
@ru1977 A little bit of both for me. I still love looking at my DCUC collection despite the line having ended years ago. However, I didn't just sit on my hands afterwards. Truthfully, I think if Legends stopped and wasn't picked up by another company, I would shift my focus to other lines to scratch that collecting itch. No jokes about my itch, Benty.
@akajomiha that's commendable, no sarcasm. The closest I have is Neca stuff, which I no longer collect but still have some in a case, alongside some McFarlane movie figures from over 20 years ago. But right now I feel like Star Wars is the next I'll stop, going just for OT characters and even then I have a list of less than ten I want. And Marvel has been weird since I only collect movie figures, and they've been kinda conditioning me to go without anyway and shifting my goalposts of what makes my collecton "complete". So now my wishlist is just primary mutants and the FF. Then I may be done there and see if I'm content just having them.
With Lightning Collection cancelled and my G.I. Joe shelves full, it's really only Marvel Legends from Hasbro that I'm paying any attention to. Even then, I'm down to just a few, specific gaps that need filling and they seem laser focused on not making those characters.
Basically, I'm buying so few Hasbro figures these days that I don't know if I'd just eat a tariff to finish the shelf or not bother because I have enough already. Let's find out!
@fletch I recently gave up two shelves of Marvel (by selling and also crossing off on my wishlist, this giving up the reserved space) for Classified. But I'm kinda in a similar spot since I'm close to being done on a couple lines and Marvel I expect to be a slow trickle for me over the next several years anyway.
