Yeah, I never played Marvel vs Capcom either. Madureira and Pacheco are the two main reasons I have a fondness for Marrow.

I didn't even realize Marrow was in MvC.  But I likely didn't play it much.

Opposite for me. I don't really have much of an attachment to that era of X-Men (though Cecelia Reyes is cool), so an MVC display is pretty much my entire interest in Marrow. They've been pretty good about getting the characters and looks from those games into the line, so I'm hoping she'll be in her MVC era look as well to go with the rest.

After NYCC I passed on the '97 Sentinel because we didn't have Cable..... so now gotta get that lol.

This is hard for me to understand 20 years into this line. You passed on one figure because we didn't have a companion figure to it... knowing full well that character was almost 100% coming within the year? And now that it's mostly confirmed, aren't you glad this leak means you won't miss the Sentinel?

It's like when people passed on Jim Lee Rogue in 2016 because there weren't any other Jim Lee X-Men.

Cable doesn't get treated as well and I got into X-Men in the summer of 1992.  I still remember getting the very first ever Cable figure at a TRU around November of 1992 while reading X-Cutioner's Song.  And the look he had for the majority of the series is what I want.  There's no guarantee that's coming.  It doesn't mean much to most, but to me it does and given the amount of money I have spent on toys I actually wasn't upset about skipping a pricey Sentinel.

But yes, I am happy this leak dropped inside the ordering window.  I will take the leap of faith. I really dig the '97 aesthetic and think Waves 1 and 2 were fantastic.

Pure speculation post -

As for all of the X-Men names listed that aren't associated with a Retro Card, 2-pack or Deluxe, there's:

Fabian Cortez, Marrow, Husk, AOA Gambit, X-Force Nightcrawler, Ultimate Wolverine

That could be one heck of a Retro Card or BAF wave, just missing 1 figure and the BAF of course it's they are in a BAF wave.

DMB has X-Factor Cyclops in a 2-pack with Jean. Marvelous News just has Cyclops as "we'll be seeing" him listed with all the figures I put in the BAF wave. I guess time will tell.

I think the '97 wave was said to be on retro cards.  Apocalypse was so who knows.  I expect the other wave, which DMB said would reveal in December, to be a BAF wave.  Dwight was pumped about some BAF and it's gotta be that one.  I want Cameron Hodge, would fit with X-Factor Cyke and Cortez.

But I expect Holocaust, also badass, because apparently there was a cancelled AoA wave and they gotta get them out somehow.

I’d love to get a new figure of Holocaust/Nemesis. Definitely one of the coolest character designs ever!

Since Holocaust did make the jump to the 616 alongside Nate Grey, Sugarman and Dark Beast, I think  they figure he'll have more appeal than just the AOA folks.  But I'll take what I can get as far as AOA goes.  Hopefully they finish at least the Astonishing/Amazing X-Men teams and give folks a few horsemen before they completely move on.

I'd imagine the Ultimate Wolverine portends at least the main cast that the book launched with in the early 2000s.   I'd be most interested in Ultimate Colossus and Cyclops, though I'd be interested to see if THIS would be the Iceman they finally do right too.  Dunno that we'll get late joiners like Angel, Dazzler or the replacement X-Men after Loeb wiped out most in Ultimatum.

I'm banking on another figure of Holocaust sooner or later. I sold off the old BAF a year or two back expecting a new one - don't make a fool out of me, Hasbro!

I'm a little disappointed to see them jumping into Ultimate X-Men when they still have a LOT of eras started but unfinished. Including an AoA figure into every BAF line-up at this point makes sense since the second wave especially did not sell well, and I hope people get the characters they want.

I've been jonesing for more Ultimates, so this is good news for me.  It was always weird to do a few characters like Ultimate Cap, Goblin, Spider-Woman and the Peter Parker and Miles Morales Spider-Men but then not really dig any deeper into that universe. I'd love if they also eventually did some figures for the new Ultimate universe from Hickman as well.

I'm sure Holocaust is coming. What if.....the Ultimate Wolverine is modern and the BAF is Armor?  I think no matter it's gonna be the wave of the year.

It's ok, people who did play the game ignored her too.

If they do an updated Holocaust/Nemesis, it must look like the old Build-A-Figure, cause that is his most iconic look from the Age of Apocalypse.

I haven't followed closely, but did notice the discrepancy in some reference art.  Don't shoot me, but I kind of like an updated look I saw with thicker legs.  But imagine they will match the AoA storyline.

Also, and I am making a point to get out more again instead of sitting on my computer, I did see some livestream where Dan Who (I think) mentioned a tease Dwight showed at the Lucca Festival.  Looks like a whip type thing and very much like Senyaka's tendrils.  Would be a tease like Marrow's dagger.  Hope it's him!  I want a full blow Hasbro Jim Lee shelf.
