I know that they can't give us all we still need at once but I agree with you that Feral, Rachel and Outback Betsy are really long overdue for our X-Men collections. The figures are so good nowadays that the older ones will look bad next to them when they are finally released.
That being said, I like many of these rumors. Green Banshee, Marrow, Husk, X-Force Nightrawler, AOA Gambit, Havok, Polaris and all the 97 figures would be instant buys for me!
Also, did we get some more rumors about the MvC two packs? I'm really hoping they are true since I would love a new Jim Lee Psylocke so badly!
I'm sure that I'll buy more from this list than I really want to as I'm a sucker for the pinless tech and new hotness, but continue to be frustrated by the level of repeats and relative lack of new characters (comparatively speaking). There are several new characters on this list that I'll be thankful for, but they seem small in quantity compared to repeats.
Gen X Husk is the one on here that I have on my own personal Top 10. Champion of the Universe and Triton are both long overdue and I'm excited to get both of those! Confirmation (kind of) of Marrow is great and a certain buy for me. We've already seen Fabian Cortez and ROM. I'm definitely down for both of those. Female Electro and Spider-Boy will be purchases as well.
These new "ultimate" releases just sound like another way to get us to buy all of the A-listers yet again at an increased price point, which I'm sure that I'll fall for hook, line and sinker. I feel dirty every time that I re-purchase a character that I already own and it's the one thing I hate most about this hobby.
This "Ultimate" edition concept was something I'd been hoping for discussing for at least 15 years here. It's another step toward import caliber offerings at a (sort of) lower price. I'm curious how the forearm swapping would happen with Spider-Man without completely breaking up the sculpt or somehow messing up the deco. They have a ton of accessories now to really load up a release with hands and heads to make something special. You just have to hope they choose a very classic spider logo and blues/reds that pop. I know people are pretty hot on the RYVs body, but I've felt that the FNSM size was more appropriate for Peter. Either way, this is an exciting one.
I also hope after this last Spider-Verse wave we've seen the last of sculpted webbing on Spider-Men without any paint deco. I didn't mind this back in the Toy Biz days because it really felt like the printed webbing was especially unreliable. Of course, then I look at the 2002 movie Spider-Men and realize they've been able to do pretty good sculpted/paint application forever - they just... don't. The Peter Parker Spider-Man figure from the Spider-verse line would be incredible if the sculpt had slightly raised webbing and paint like the recent Andrew Spidey. It would make the figure go from pretty cheap looking to must-have. Anyway, hopes for the future.
I am so pumped for Marvel Legends again, can't believe I'm saying it but the line looks great and my 90s wants are coming to fruition 😀 I was really pumped to see JayC's post on MarvelousNews yesterday.
Some of these lists leave me cold while this one is like "I'm 110% in." After NYCC I passed on the '97 Sentinel because we didn't have Cable..... so now gotta get that lol. So much awesome 90s X-Men stuff and Spidey too. Not to mention non Hasbro lines. So yeah very happy right now especially with how much I enjoyed 2024 and Cortez looks great.
I'm betting Dwight's "favorite BAF" is attached to that X-Men wave. Makes sense. I'm going with Cameron Hodge or Holocaust. Either fits the theme and both would be impressive. We know he wanted Hodge. Ares would make sense as the BAF for ROM's wave, but I don't think there will be one.
Cable and the X-stuff had me, but this Ultimate line might be the big winner. They gotta see the success imports have - why not do this. I will be all in, hope this is where they make a Spidey with etched in weblines and eventually a good Green Goblin.
I hope the Punisher listed as being in an Iron Man wave is a redo of the Punisher in War Machine armor. Fun concept and a great looking armor, but the previous figure used an older MCU War Machine figure as the base, and it was rather limited in articulation.
100% same. It's gotta be him, right? Why else do a Punisher in an Iron Man wave? Some of the artwork I looked up looks intense. If there's only 1 new sculpt in that wave, hope that's it. And slightly on the bigger side.
After NYCC I passed on the '97 Sentinel because we didn't have Cable..... so now gotta get that lol.
This is hard for me to understand 20 years into this line. You passed on one figure because we didn't have a companion figure to it... knowing full well that character was almost 100% coming within the year? And now that it's mostly confirmed, aren't you glad this leak means you won't miss the Sentinel?
It's like when people passed on Jim Lee Rogue in 2016 because there weren't any other Jim Lee X-Men.
Classic Adam Warlock is one of the few Marvel characters I still want to see made. I can't imagine he's much more than a new head on a Vulcan buck with some overlays.....I hope he turns out looking good.
Kinda surprised Cosmo hasn't been re-released yet so they can double-dip that single-character mold.
The Champion of the Universe & Magus 2-pack is an interesting pairing. Do these two have any direct connection besides both being cosmic characters?
It's great that they are (rumored to be) making Adam Warlock and Magus in the same year. What are the odds we'll get two heads packed in with Magus for his original and Infinity Gauntlet looks?
Motherfluffer. I sold off my Super Skrull BAF a couple of years ago, thinking there would be a redeco single release. I gave up and re-bought the BAF on eBay this past Friday. Alas...hoping for a brighter colorway if this is true.
Not a lot of great stuff for my particular tastes, but some of them are welcome surprises if true (Champion of the Universe/Magus, Classic Warlock).
Hopefully Champion of the Universe leads to classic comic versions of Grandmaster and Collector.
YES! That's the look they should do on her inevitable re-release. I still love the hair on the first one, but that look above would be great.
@beamish Collector is a new head and cape on the Red Skull body. Easy
