I want a classic Moonstone as much as anybody, but making "Dark Avengers" Moonstone is a great move - because I also want a classic Ms Marvel! As long as they include a Carol head I'm stoked at this rumor, and will be buying this figure (at least) twice.

She's a definite need to add to the Under Siege Masters of Evil and/or to Hulk displays.
I can be as cynical as the next guy, but the cost of producing blue/yellow Cyclops would be the same as blue/white so not sure what they would gain by holding off on the blue/yellow version. They still have a half-dozen X-Factor variants to make that are almost all repaints, so I think they would be shooting themselves in the foot to put that same Cyke out again and burned the fanbase so overtly.
Well, see - the logic isn't about how easy it would be to give the other paint job. It's that they know we want the Jean in that look badly enough that they can sell us Cyke in the same costume they already sold us again - using the argument that it's on a better body than the last one they put out, or whatever.
Then later they can sell us the other X-Factor Cyclops as a solo release... or in a 2-pack with Jean in a different X-Factor costume, since she wore a few:
Green with yellow X - both head cowled like the X-Factor 1 cover - or uncowled.
blue with yellow X and flared shoulders
In fact there are multiple versions of Beast they can do too, right - human form with the brown costume with the yellow X, blue furred form with the same costume; human form in blue costume with red X
They could pull this same nonsense over and over by releasing one new costume we need repackaged with an old costume the previously sold us and string us along for YEARS, buying extras of figures we already have. Sigh.

I feel like there's a whole lot of wishlisting going on with this leak. I was going to say the Capcom stuff in general seems far out there, but they did just release a 2pk of video game Sentinels so...maybe this stuff is legit?
Are you suggesting the cynicism when it comes to Hasbro and their choices with Marvel Legends is unearned?
It is fair though that from a thematic standpoint if it's jean in her Green and Yellow it should be Cyclops in his blue and yellow duds. The question will be then - do they give Jean the full cowl look from the first handful of issues
Or do they go with the open top, flowing hair look she had moved to a handful of issues later?
I'll put it out there that I'll be pretty surprised if they do blue/white X-Factor Cyke again in this (supposed) 2-pack. I don't think the skepticism is unearned, but they must know that yellow/green X-Factor Jean isn't a huge draw for a large number of people enough to move pack with a rehashed Cyke that hung around for a long time on the retro card. If they do yellow/green Jean with yellow/blue Cyke it could be a great set - give them both swappable heads (cowled and uncowled) and it will be a fantastic set. Release the rest of X-Factor in short order and people will actually buy it because they know they can get the whole team relatively soon, and not have to wait 5 years.
An alternate head for both looks would be my preference, @panthercult. Won't hold my breath on that though. If I had to choose one, I would go with the latter look.
I would love it if they tried to "win back" some customer base by packing in a bit more like alternate heads - but I worry that they would do it by upping the cost. We might get extra heads and maybe an extra set of hands for each but the price of the 2-pack would be $55 instead of $50.
I would definitely love if we could then get another two pack of X-Factor Angel and Bobby - de-iced in his X-Factor costume. Bobby Drake would be cheap to do and Warren could be entirely a repaint which could help keep the two pack cost down at the $55 level? Unfortunately the corresponding Beast would need newly sculpted parts so they'd release him as a deluxe - never mind that they would get to reuse those parts over and over and over again...
But yeah, rounding out that version of X-Factor quickly would be a huge win.

Yeah, I don't see that as a copout at all, especially when they've already done several of her Dark Avengers teammates.
Though I'm probably the odd duck out in that this is my most wanted Moonstone look for that exact reason, followed by her Meteorite costume. No real interest in her classic look, as I started reading comics long after it was a thing. I sympathize with those who want the original, but this move makes total sense, especially if they include a Carol head.

Not necessarily. The Thing figures weren't deluxe, nor were the furry Beasts. X-Factor Hank would probably just end up being a new body that could/would be used for other characters.
I would think Beast and Iceman would the other 2-pack pairing if they went that route. While flawed. this is where I would expect some reuse from the human Beast from the pseudo-first appearance X-Men set and a non-iced Bobby to appear, both pretty basic really.
Angel gets the deluxe release in his Red and White X-Factor look. I don't recall that he had a look between that and the Archangel look?
Iceman with his regulator belt and furry Beast can be regular releases.
If they go nus, the second human Beast color scheme could get paired with the second Jean color scheme -that's a near perfect 2-pack exclusive for someone given just repaints.

Meteorite is absolutely my most-wanted look of hers, but I agree that the Dark Avengers look makes most sense now.
