Interesting and not at all surprising figure inclusion for Collector Con - a simple Spider-Man repaint, but one I'm going to want.
I'm not a huge fan of the on-line drop happening during ComicCon - last year's figures I had to order while walking through Downtown San Diego toward the convention center. This year's hotel is a little closer, so I may be at breakfast, but having to remember to log in to WalMart at 7 am on Thursday - the first formal day of the show - isn't ideal.

I don't hate this... I do think it's odd to do spider-man of all characters first from the Hellfire Gala. And i don't think they got the "glowing" aspect of the costume painted very well.. the big red spider on his body also is suppose to glow, and it's rather dark. I do also think this spider-man should have came in a 2 pack with Gala Mary Jane. Anyone knows how this scales with Legends figures?
Be prepared... that Galactus head costs like $80 or something insane. It's very cool with fun effects - but for a popcorn bucket it's bananas.
The metallic popcorn tin and the one with Reed are probably like 8 inches tall - so that Galactus head is definitely over a foot tall - it's probably at least 16 inches to the tips of the head fins.

The decision for which figure to do from the Hellfire Gala had nothing to do with which characters from that story/event deserved to be made or were important. It had everything to do with Wal Mart wants a Spider-Man variant to sell as part of collector con. What is a Spidey Costume we haven't released as a figure yet that won't require too much tooling.
That's the entirety of the thought process. Wal Mart told them it didn't want second line characters that would sit around and go on clearance. Most of their recent store exclusive Legends have been Spider-Man - we're still waiting on Ghost Spider, right and they did the 70's movie Spider-Man and a couple of others. They don't want to send big batches of the exclusives to Ross or Ollie's again so I think it's going to be this for awhile... Spider-Man and/or Deadpool and that's it.
