Quick question for the seasoned ML collectors here. Do u think likely we will see a comic based FF wave to punctuate the movie? or would it be worthwhile hunting down the retro carded FF figures?

If you can get them for a good price, go for it - I don't think they sell for too much. Otherwise, it's safe to assume the FF will come out again at some point. My rule of thumb is to not spend much more than MSRP on a figure because anything can come back around. If Puck can get reissued, anyone can. It all depends on how patient you are.

1) If you really want the retro F4 figures, wait til the movie comes out, depending upon how it does you may find them more or less desirable as most people would. Hasbro has been doing lazy straight reissues as of late without any actual improvements, so for all we know they may just rerun the 4-6 main family characters just to have product out there this summer. The figures I can't say are "great" or anything above average, as I have them myself, the only one I genuinely like is The Thing given his stature and more traditional face sculpt. You never know what's going through other collectors minds, so if the movie tanks you may even see folks selling them off here and there.
2) As I remember all of those figures are pinned joints, meaning we don't really have a pinless F4 offering aside from the movie figures. It wouldn't be unheard of for them to have new ones in the works that are pinless.
3) A number of folks have been asking for new versions of F4 items and characters like MoleMan, FingFangFoom, and the Fantasticar. Given that Galactus came with a handful of his heralds, if the car eventually becomes a Haslab, F4 characters would be the obvious pack in / tiered unlocks.
Overall I'd wait it out. With Moleman coming you're likely to see more F4 likely within the next year or so.
Which would you want an updated marvel legends Fin Fang Foom to be released as, a Haslab or a made to order?
Doesn't matter much to me personally as I'm not a huge F4 guy, I just wanted a F4 presence on the shelf, so I just have the retro offerings of the 4 main characters and then the alternate powered up versions of Sue and Johnny.
I think most would want Foom as a Haslab, but I don't know that he's THAT important of a character for most in their collection to warrant Haslab's minimum numbers. So if they could make a Haslab sized Foom and just make him made to order most would be happy with that without all the campaigning and grousing about daily totals and pressuring others to join etc. One shot, order what you want, get what you want, done.
As an X-Men fan I'm even running out of large scale items I would want. I doubt they're going to do a Blackbird to scale, so other than a Danger Room / War Room or some other sort of mansion facade there's not much I can be tempted with, which I imagine is why varying types of Sentinels keep coming out.
At least with Foom you'd have multiple sorts of fans perhaps wanting him, since that character spans the more Avengers / F4 side of the universe.
If they made a made to order Onslaught that was at least larger than the new Capcom-looking Juggernaut (as Onslaught easily dwarfs Juggernaut and beats him up), I'd probably bite, but I don't need him to be Sentinel or building-sized like he is in the comics seemingly dwarfing downtown Manhattan.
Aside from all that, Capcom Psylocke made it to Australia already:
Overall my (minor) complaints are that her thighs look a little thick and her hair impairs movement. But it's largely the Psylocke I was asking for so whatever. May have to see if the strike team head matches, I do tend to prefer the lanky-ness of the old 90s body somewhat as she was always pretty toned/thin as I remember in Lee/Kubert 90s comics. Just need an improved non-Vulcan-based 90s Archangel, perhaps with a mulleted head, and a decent 90s Iceman of some sort.
I only really collect X-Men too, but I have loads of large sets left on my want list.
Phalanx: I'm envisioning a modular, build-some-crazy-monsters set. This one would be amazing for Haslab, because multiple sets would be compatible with each other, incentivizing large purchases, and there would be plenty of great choices for stretch goal figures: Harvest, Cameron Hodge, Warlock, muzzled Sabretooth, etc.
N'astirh: This seems obvious enough. Not sure if there'd be enough interest, but I'd definitely be in.
Apocalypse: The man grows. Let's get a big one.
Four Horsemen: Robot horses? 80s fashion? Chance for a new Archangel? Definitely in.
Krakoa: Not sure exactly what this would be, but I bet they could do something cool. Arguably, they missed the best window for this, but would still be cool.
Amazon: I recognize that nobody else would probably buy this, but Factor X is my favourite Age of Apocalypse title, and I'd love to see Amazon, Cannonball, the Bedlam Brothers, etc., in addition to Havok, who's likely to be the only other figure we might actually get. It would be awesome to get a solid 12-inch version of Amazon, at least.

You're speaking my language when it comes to Phalanx Covenant. I'd even take the black suited ones that came later from the space adventure before Trial of Gambit happened. McFarlane is doing a Phalanx Covenant Wolverine "posed figure"/mini statue, so it's possible. Definitely want a captive Sabretooth. Plus Synch showed up heavily in those Uncanny books, so they can stick a Gen X character in there too.
Definitely want more AOA stuff like Havok.
Just saying most of the stuff I have left that I want falls more into the "would like to have" category. I'd like more 90s Acolytes as well, but for the most part most of my core collection appears to be done.
The biggest problem with the Savage Land set is that if you don't already have the Zabu BAF, you'll have to pay something like $150 for it on eBay. So in order to get the "complete" Savage Land gang one would have to pony up more than $250 (with shipping and taxes, etc. probably even closer to $275). I'll pass. Looks like I'll have to settle for just having Ka-Zar.
Just got XFactor Jean in the mail earlier. An ok figure by ML standards. Still don’t like this base body with the shin cut omitted, but that’s just me. Lack of painted yellow boots leads me to believe they will stick a yellow boots accurate one in a multi pack down the road. Maybe with furless Beast in blue and red outfit and/or first appearance fluffy snowman Iceman
@jtmarsh Yeah, for sure. I'm definitely with you on the Acolytes. Senyaka is in my top 5, and Amelia Voght isn't far behind, plus Exodus is kind of a shocking ommission from the line. It would be great to get some of the weirder ones too, like Seamus Mellencamp, Katu, and Spoor. Finishing the Outback X-Men is pretty essential for me, and there's a number of (mostly) 80s and 90s villain teams I'd love to see, but you're right that most of the core stuff is kind of there already. On the other hand, they're so damn close on most of the 90s X-teams, it would be a shame not to fully realize all of them.
@ninjak This is definitely true, and a huge bummer. Luckily for me, I had most of Zabu, because I picked up Cable, Wolfsbane, Ka-zar, and Red Widow when they first released. Shockingly, on Friday I was able to get Black Winter Thor (complete with BAF part) on Amazon for a little under MSRP, and the missing leg on eBay for around $15. I didn't love dropping $40 to finish the figure, but I was so damn close, I didn't want to let it pass me by. Maybe I'll recoup like $5 selling the Thor (unlikely, I know).

You'll probably make more selling off his various accessories and then the rest as fodder. A couple people have used the hair piece for some pretty good customs for female figures that involve big/wild hair.
I'm not as big on 80s X-Men, but will probably buy the Outback Colossus when they make him just because I always liked him as Art Addams drew him, Psylocke it will depend on whether she's the armored one or the billowy gown one. I do think we need to round out the Reavers with caped Donald Pierce as well.
Having said that, I got the Target X-Factor Jean today. Probably the least exciting figure I've gotten this year. Honestly I'd rather it were the red version overall, the boot issue is lame, the paint is sloppy on the torso, and the capped head is one of the uglier portraits I've seen (though I fully expect it to be reused for a 1960s blue/yellow O5 X-Men wave/boxset).
On the plus side, it's got the improved torso articulation (boot swivel omitted sadly), the hair sculpt and face is pleasant enough that it'll be the default look for me, the eyes seem particularly well done, which is a major plus as I don't have to be as nitpicky on facepaint as I used to be. Overall it's a decent figure hamstrung by Hasbro phoning in certain choices to make it a mediocre figure with some nice aspects to it. Plus it was nice to get new plastic in the mail.
6/10 overall. Looks better next to Cyclops.
More interested to see how Angel/Archangel, Iceman and Beast are handled before they start down the path of the same figures in the alternate coloring.
I really like that Shana but sadly I won't be getting her.
I don't need another Sauron and I never liked that version of Rogue, specially with how this one turned out. She looks so vulgar. And I'm not talking about the costume. It's really the sex doll expression and makeup. lol
