The MVC line is more than I could’ve imagined.

Shuma Gorath...wow

I'm sorry -  who?   You mean 'Gargantos', surely  😉

Honestly the MvC line up has me planning to buy way more of it than I originally intended.

Like -  the Captain America/Venom pack I thought would be an easy skip.   But it's a totally new color for Venom and that Cap has a smooth upper torso in that classic look instead of the chain mail that the recent figures came with - so that became a must grab.

Psylocke was always a no-brainer,  but she's gorgeous.  Can't say I need another Thanos but I'll figure out something.

Even the Wolverine / Silver Samurai set turned out better than I expected.

I know there are upgrades for War Machine and Omega Red but I'm not sure if they're enough to get me to buy that pack.   It's a Wal Mart exclusive, so maybe I'll wait and see if that one hits discount price.

Juggernaut is another one that surprised me.   I thought I had a great Juggernaut and would be able to easily skip this -  but that Juggernaut is bigger and better and is undeniable.   It's a must have.

And obviously Shuma G... Gargantos is the show stopper.    Love it.  Can't wait to add it to my shelf.

This is a great program for this year and it's better than I expected, frankly.

Wolverine kinda concerns me. Single elbow but I can’t tell if he can bend past 90 degrees.

Liking them all so far. And remember your Jada SFers don’t really mix as accurately with these Marvel characters. It will be the Storm Arena Alpha figures.

Aside from 'Shuma', I don't think there's anything there I need, but some are tempting. I might pick some up, or wait for a sale. These anniversary sets usually get discounted, though having two heavy hitters like Cap and Venom in one set may not get to that point. hmmmmm.

Also interesting that I think this is the first fall anniversary program to not have 10 items. That's probably another way to alleviate the discounting. It did always suck to have that many items drop at once. Looks like they're still doing their cute 'we've spread the pre-order dates to make it easier for you!' thing, even though plenty of places (including Pulse!) charge when the item is available.

Blue toothpick tease?

At the risk of starting some weird internet argument, I thought it looked green.

Both?

I never played the Vs game so that colors my fairly non-existent excitement for Marvel Legends Summer Reruns.

I can't believe they actually have a neutral Captain America shield and it's not perma-jazzed with something. I do like the look of him so he's a maybe, even if I don't need blueberry Venom.

Juggernaut is way too big for my personal vision of him and I don't like the helmet so I think I can skip him. I do like the butterfly joints though.

Ninja Psylocke should have "again?" permanently added to her name.

Shuma-Gorath is the only for sure definite purchase.

I'm with you mostly, Love Shuma. I even dig better-boots Cap, but each version has to be less than perfect, so this one lacks "chain mail" and has a warped star. Everything else is meh, but I'm happy for MVC fans.

They've already back-doored some entries, like Cable, Marrow, "Maximum" Spidey and Big Gun Iron Man. But it baffles me that they'd repack War Machine and neglect Iceman, who truly needs an upgrade.

My guess is given the other Dark Avengers stuff we’ve been getting it’s gonna be Bullseye. Maybe the green color is just temp and it’ll be purple when released.

Not a fan of having stuff I actually want locked behind the assumption of Target / Walmart's "competencies."

Definitely in for Psylocke.

Wolverine looks good body-wise, not really a fan of the giant wings on his mask.  May see how he looks with another head swapped on so he's a "probably" will purchase.  Silver Samurai looks more like Gun Metal Samurai.

Oh boy, a Cap with a unblemished shield, come get it for $60.  I liked the Cap initially but saw he doesn't have any scale-mail on the chest, so I dunno that I need this one.

I like Omega Red, but dunno if I like him enough to bother with fighting Walmart for two already-done-a-few-times characters and then hoping they don't cancel or send me some other item randomly as they've been known to do.

Juggernaut I like, but don't know that I need a new Juggernaut.  Plus his dome has a weird divot/inlet around his mouth that's not on the comic version.

I'd be displaying these mostly with the comic stuff as I'm not diving into a videogame subset/shelf.

Overall, they all look decent, if only marginally improved in most cases.

Psylocke is the one I'm after, if I can get the others on sale great.  If not, whatever.

One has to assume we're getting a Gambit, Rogue, Sabretooth, Storm and possibly IceMan and Colossus if this line sells well.  Colossus looked more 90s in the game with his bracers, and we're always in need of a new attempt at Iceman.

It's crazy to me how many people think the lack of chain-mail on Captain America is a bad thing.   First of all - the Capcom sprites clearly do not feature any mail/armor motif on the torso -  so the smooth torso is source accurate to the game they are tyring to represent.

But second of all the Captain America I grew up reading as drawn by John Byrne and Mike Zeck very often did not look like he was wearing any kind of chain or scale mail on the costume

So, any version that looks more like the images I grew up looking at and less like the hyper realistic style of the 2000's is OK by me.

I definitely think the lack of visible mail on his suit makes the figure better not worse.   In fact, if it had the scales on the torso,  I would skip this two pack -  I have multiple recent figures that have that.    The lack of scales is the biggest reason I want to order this set.

Depending on price, I think I'll be picking this up. I have never liked the Bucky body, and pretty much every Marvel Legend has felt derivative of that particular aesthetic. So getting some different styles is much appreciated, this line seems to be forcing them to abandon that formula, so I'm on board with that.

The Storm Arena Street Fighter figures should be perfect. I've seen complaints about them being too short, but Ken was about the same height as Rogue in the game and much smaller than Cyclops. If anything, Ken might be too tall, but the style fits.

And Psylocke had orangey-yellow skin, a badonkadonk, and anime babyface with oversized eyes in the game.  Most of us aren't asking for that.  These figures come across largely "homages" to the game while filling gaps in comic line figures we'd been asking for, while Hasbro tries to force feed us another version of the same character we've already gotten multiple times, while slightly altering it to get folks to bite.  The sculpted chainmail is just a personal preference for many Cap collectors, we know it's not in game as sprites don't allow for it.  Some folks barely have a discernible nose in game.  It's just a nice added detail many have enjoyed from a company who focuses a lot of time and effort on selling us Malibu Stacy and her newest hat.

They also could have given Cap his eagle "pet" that he has in his victory pose after some matches.  At least they gave him a thumbs up hand.
