I totally agree that I want them to finish that version of X-Force for sure... but I also feel like it would be mildly disrespectful to get that version of Vanisher before the classic costume villain version... I mean, I definitely want both in my collection and if they made the X-Force version in the next wave or next 2-pack or whatever I'd definitely buy it... but I'd be bummed if that's the only Vanisher figure we ever got.
I'm the weird guy who (indefensibly) wants the AoA version of Vanisher more than either of those versions.

You know that I'm like 99% aligned with you on prioritizing classic versions of characters over anything else, but I don't think I could bring myself to feel this strongly if this were to happen. He had, what, fewer than 10 appearances in the classic quilt costume before he ditched it for the all-black bodysuit? Not that it's all about volume, but that's approaching insignificance. I would 100% buy a classic Vanisher if made, but if they opt to do the X-Force version first it would hardly feel like an affront - to me at least.
That's fair... affront would be strong to describe my feelings. I'm just an X-Men guy from way back so all of the villains from that book feel important to me even if they have almost no appearances - I'd take figures of Moses Magnum and Warhawk for goodness sake. I want an Erik the Red more than is reasonable. Don't get me started on Mesmero, I want him so bad. And a classic trenchoat Mastermind - I might stab a nun for one of those...

Fair enough! Now that you started listing them I want all of those Vanisher-level minor X-baddies too, so I get it. I think I've got a soft spot for the modern Vanisher design since it showed up in the criminally underrated "Wolverine and the X-Men" show...
I appreciate the love for Kyle/Yost's X-Force. It was a very solid and entertaining book with a great cast. But then Remender's Uncanny X-Force followed it and blew my mind. I liked the similar cast and concept, but the new direction was refreshing. It gave me a new appreciation for characters like Fantomex (who to me was a throwaway from the Morrison run) and Deadpool (a character I never read prior to this book). And at a time where Wolverine was EVERYWHERE (X-Men, Avengers, his own book, among others), he took more of a back seat despite being the leader of this team and its previous incarnation. And it should be pointed out that these are two distinct teams (with only Wolverine and Archangel in common). I love being closer to finishing X-Force, but Archangel's design changed in Uncanny X-Force, and I kinda wish that was the version we are getting.
I haven't seen anyone here mention the fact that the new Archangel is wearing the Kyle/Yost costume as opposed to Remender's.
Always +1 for Remender's UXF love. One of my favorite superhero books, period.
Confirmation from Dan Yun on Twitter that X-Force Jean Grey pre-order goes live at Target on Thursday in the US.
Annoying... and am I anal enough that I need to order two so I can have one with the full cowl and one with the pop top and free flowing hair? I might be... If I do that will I give them both a yellow boot repaint or just one... decisions, decisions
I eagerly anticipate it being sold out before I even have a chance to bother. 😡
This is another case where it sure does seem like it'd make a lot of sense to announce the remaining members of this group while the first few are hitting. I know it isn't exactly hard to sell a figure of Cyclops, but if they confirmed that an X-Factor Beast, Iceman, and Angel to match were on the way I feel way more people would be inclined to pick up Scott and Jean.
X-Force Archangel probably sets an X-Factor Angel back, but I don't see anything stopping them from doing Beast and Iceman. Especially Iceman, who can't seem to get a good figure to save his life. What did Iceman ever do to you Hasbro to deserve such poor figures? The Frank Welker Iceman was embarrassingly awful.
Just saw Dan announce that Jean goes live on Target.com at 9 am ET on Thursday... and I don't know why Target hates us on the west coast quite so much... but I guess I'll set the alarm to make sure I'm awake and in front of my computer or phone so I can pre-order my figure before she sells out. Sigh. 6 am is too early to put things on sale, man.
I wonder how well this figure will sell with no yellow boots.

I mean, there's no yellow boots version coming any time soon, so I'm guessing most people who would have bought it if it were right will buy it even though it's wrong.
Unless, after releasing X-Factor Beast late this year and announcing an X-Factor Angel they can convince some poor retailer down the line to sell an X-Factor 5 pack that includes an Iceman (with belt) and Jean with yellow boots. And then that retailer gets stuck with a bunch of returns that have an old Iceman and green boots Jean shoved back in the box.
Around the same time as the film releases we got a classic versions of Black Panther, Ant-Man, Monica Rambeau, Yondu and Gorr.
I was so hoping an update to the ToyBiz classic red & white costume Falcon would follow suit, but the film has come and gone, and Hasbro had plenty of time to make an updated Falcon with all the film delays.
C'mon Hasbro. Classic Falcon deserves an update.
It's a constant disappointment that the presence of these characters on screen doesn't reliably translate to figure representation. After film trilogies (or quartets) of films for these characters, and we still don't have full rosters of the supporting cast and villains for Thor, Ant-Man, Dr. Strange, etc etc. I wish an upcoming Thunderbolts movie would guarantee a bunch of comic T-Bolts would be made, but alas...

I'm not it's impossible, but when was the last time they did a set like that? The Alpha Flight set in 2019?
Unless team box sets sell poorly, I don't understand it. I thought a Jim Lee X-Men pack was just a matter of time. It's so convenient to get everyone at once.
