Just did a tour of the extensive ML collection. Came across some older Hasbro figures I'd really like to see revisited.
I would love re-dos of a classic Bucky and WWII Cap. Also the original 5 X-Men using updated bodies and improved Angel wings. It's time.
With the focus on Astonishing, I think Hasbro could do a really great update for Danger, as well.
Also, the Young Avengers and Monsters multi packs done with current Hasbro quality would be nice. Swappable heads for Patriot. A nice generic zombie.
These are my Monday thoughts.
Not a single thing you mentioned I wouldn't buy. I got rid of my Brood wave Bucky and Cap a loong time ago - ready for that Invaders box set any time. OG X-Men and Young Avengers are also very high on my wants list - with all the MCU love coming for both those groups you'd think they'd be a lock, but we've seen how the film presence doesn't necessarily translate to a glut of new comic figures...

I know these aren't popular picks for the "I just want figures of characters that have never been done before" crowd, but my wish list keeps getting dwindled every year. I'm just looking at figures on the shelf that deserve a good refresh. Not a bad time to be a Legends fan 🙂

I basically am this crowd, I just mentally lump crummy or outdated figures into the "never been done" category. It varies by degree depending on the figure - Bucky and Doc Samson technically have been made in ML, they're just so bad they might as well not exist. The Young Avengers and Monsters sets actually hold up pretty well all things considered, but newer versions could make some big strides and they're definitely overdue to be revisited.
And I just really, REALLY want some accurate FA X-Men. Slightly baggy uniforms and all.
@h-bird I'd love to see FA X-Men on smaller bodies (like Amazing Fantasy Spidey for Scott and Warren), with yellow overlays for that part of their uniforms. I think these particular versions of Bobby and Hank would need 90% new sculpts. Jean could probably see some reuse from existing bodies, but again, they all need that yellow torso overlay.
You're absolutely right about Bucky and Samson. In fact, I actually do forget they exist, because they're not particularly high on my want list. They definitely deserve spots on a redo list, along with Valkyrie and Absorbing Man.
None of us are getting any younger, Hasbro. Especially those of us (like me) who are receiving Social Security.
Can ya get it done BEFORE I go to that big comic book convention up in the sky? Pretty please? With sugar on it and stuff?
I try to go into these Hasbro livestreams without any expectations. I'll be disappointed if we don't see the Maximum Hulk, though.
Of the rumored/leaked stuff, I'd guess the Capcom wave or the Retro Iron Man wave will be revealed.
Personally, I'd like some of the rumored/leaked 2-packs to be revealed, like the Inhumans and/or Deathbird-Gladiator set.
Have we heard or gotten any hints as to what their "anniversary program" is this year?
