I'd assume their videogame push probably WONT be successful.
How dare you?
They saved the planet with their cardboard boxes!
I very much doubt that someone didn't notice the "error" with Jean. It's a deliberate choice that comes down to budget. It's just more annoying that they can't find the money to tool legs with shin swivels that could be reused again and again and make it relatively easy to do boots in a different color. From a design standpoint, I'm guessing the Legends team decided it was more important to include both portraits than get the boots right. It's the sort of compromise you get from a giant company like Hasbro, which as a collector, is frustrating for all. Especially compared to some of the smaller companies that go to great lengths to get something right knowing those tools are as specific as can be.
The "Hasbro made the conscious decision to exclude the yellow boots for X, Y and Z reasons" seems like utter twat bollocks.
What most likely happened is it's an oversight in communication with the factory during production. It still doesn't excuse it, but I highly doubt they're twirling their moustache's because they got out of making a characters boots yellow to save on costs or avoid painting yellow over green. Conspiracy theorist babble.
And the terrible color mismatch whenever said boot designs go above the calf. 🙄
Somewhere there's a chinese person with a vat of yellow paint looking for a distributor.
Did everyone see the announcement on Twitter/Instagram about the upcoming 70's live action Spider-Man figure that's going to be a Wal Mart exclusive?
I think they announced it was a Walmart exclusive when it was first revealed. Only new info is the time frame of was it March he said? But I def remember them saying he was a Walmart exclusive day 1
@schizm I mean with no way of knowing were the fault lies, it could be either party
@schizm There is a point where some of our gripes are probably more design and preference decisions than the fault of the bean counters. I can't think of a good budget reason, why we don't have sculpted boots and/or gloves with a triangular point when it would get plenty of reuse and we've seen figures with the poorly painted tips with other "unnecessary" new tooling.

This is such a good point. The lack of shin swivels on recent figures is just an odd choice. Especially when their existence could eliminate issues like Jean's boots. And add more functionality to the figure.

You're probably right. I remembered the figure being mentioned but didn't remember the store exclusivity piece - but it was probably already known and I just forgot.
Honestly I don't do MCU stuff, but I'm considering grabbing that guy to put on my Spdier-verse variant shelf since there isn't anything that screams "live action" about it really.

I am absolutely grabbing him, and they also got my money on a Ferrigno Hulk, a Reb Brown Captain America, Erik Kramer Thor, etc. Anyone they wanna make from those old 70s/80s shows and TV movies, I will buy
The lack of shin swivels on recent figures is just an odd choice.
There's a valid argument against them. Human shins don't work that way, and when you use that articulation point it breaks up the shin in a way that usually looks unrealistic. They're mostly a workaround for skipping articulation in other places on the leg. Medicom and Bandai put their swivel at the foot instead of the mid-calf, and human feet can swivel a bit at the ankle although certainly not all the way around like the import figure ankles do.
Having said that when we're talking about boots it's often a valid choice, and that's particularly true when the top of the boot falls beneath the ball-like calf muscle. Jada sometimes uses a shin swivel, but the only one I recall is Guile where it's located below the calf since the character doesn't have really tall boots. When designers put the shin break right in the middle of the calf like the Vulcan mold does it always looks a little goofy when you use that swivel.
