CTV, Why the dislike on my question on Video Game based Marvel Legends? What's wrong with asking for more of that?

”.. I'm afraid I would have a lot of difficulty endorsing an enterprise which is as fraught with genuine peril as I believe this one to be. Besides the liquor and the drugs which always seem to accompany such an event the thing that distresses me even more,.. is the spiritual corruption that can be involved. These.. can be destructive, and, uh, I'm afraid you're going to find most of the people in our community are gonna agree with me on this.” 🤣

All I'm asking is for Hasbro to make Marvel Legends figures based on their video game appearances, like Mercy from Incredible Hulk Ultimate Destruction.

I think the only time we will get video game characters is as tie-ins to new games. The Insomniac Spider-Man games have what, 2 or 3 figures? And that was a super popular, much hyped, and pushed game. Not one that's 20 or more years old and isn't relevant unless someone does a Let's Play or a live stream on Twitch or something

Think of it as a call back to those classic marvel games.

I've been to a couple ComicCons, but never been to a panel. Is this something where you have to get in line a few hours early to get in?

Depends on the panel. Some are sparsely populated and no problem getting in on, while others, usually the ones dealing with popular subjects and/or characters you’ll likely have to line up WAY early and wait in line.

At SDCC I usually go to the panel right before the Marvel Legends panel just to make sure I get in since they didn't clear the room. I've never had a problem. I haven't been to SDCC since 2019, so things may have changed.

It usually still works if you go to the panel previous. Unless that panel is also nuts. There is a day when they do all the Lucasfilm stuff in one room and that room can be tough to get in because there's a big fan base for most of it.

It still works that way.   Last year I think I sat through the entire panel in the room ahead of the Marvel Legends panel to make sure I got the seat I wanted.     But last year was also crazy because they had  the Marvel Legends, Masters of the Universe and the McFarlane Toys panel all at the same time, so if you collect multiple lines you had to choose.   That was dumb.

It's pretty interesting that with so many of us fairly regular SDCC attendees - we've all probably been in the same Legends panels together, maybe joined a booth conversation with the guys together and never knew it.

Did any of you go to the Pulse party thing they had a few years ago with the free food, drinks and raffles? I swear I talked to Dwight uninterrupted for at least 15-20 minutes - it was awesome. He recognized me from our past conversations and just basically said "make your pitch for some figures".

I've been pitching Man Ape to Dwight since it was him and Vonner and they were hyping the 4" Universe line while barely keeping Legends breathing -  he rolls his eyes at me when he sees me in the booth now  🙄

Is the in-person panel experience better than just watching it on YouTube the next day? Are they fun to be at or is it a struggle for a good view?
