Ages ago in one of their streams, it was either Ryan or Dan who addressed a Deadpool wave when the 1st trailer came out and they said then that movie tie in product doesn't get shown off in streams. I was reminded of that statement last week, so that lends me to believe even more so a wave is coming and it has movie tie in product in it. Now, whether it's a BAF wave or not...we can debate. But it's getting a wave

See, not to be overly pedantic,  but Ryan and those guys sometimes play games with their choice of wording - and I don't have video of the interaction you reference,  but it's possible that someone asked them if there was going to be a wave of Deadpool figures for the Deadpool 3 movie - and they answered 'movie tie in product doesn't get shown off in streams' -   without them actually saying the word wave.     So it's possible they alluded to Deadpool product without outright addressing whether there was a true wave of figures or not.

Again,  I'm not saying there absolutely won't be.    I'm not hoping there won't be.    But there's a realistic part of me that thinks there might not be.

Also, it should be noted,  that Target and WalMart seem to have passed on the BaF wave of figures that feature a character with a Pentagram on his chest,  a character in Lilith that represents an apocryphal biblical character who was the first wife of Adam who was banished for not following his commands - even if that's only part of her Marvel origin story that also includes legends of being a fallen angel, and of being active in Atlantis thousands of years ago;  a demon and a vampire.     So, in theory they could pass on a BaF wave based on an R rated film as well, but still have it exist.

That's kinda weird with the Neca horror figures Target has.

I dunno, that leaked list for this year seems to be pretty accurate so far and didn't it list a Deadpool wave?

Yeah -  obviously NECA supports stuff that is adult collectibles and includes stuff from a lot of R Rated properties like Child's Play,  Friday the 13th,  Halloween and other Horror movies.

But,  Target has an agreement with NECA where they have their own section - often removed from the "kids" action figure aisle -  that is tended by NECA reps and is likely subject to entirely different rules.

The list has been 'pretty accurate'  but not infallible.   It said there was a Mystique/Destiny 2-pack and that ended up being only half right.

Obviously I could be all wet -  but I will be legitimately surprised if Hasbro gets full big-box retail partner shelf space support for an R Rated Super Hero Movie in their kids action figure aisle.

Is retail big box shelf space necessary? Target doesn't have the Man Thing either.

Clearly not -   most the last comic BAF waves from Legends have been Amazon and Fan Channel and aren't on Target or Wal Mart shelves,   so I don't think it's essential for the line at this stage.

But,  if the Deadpool/Wolverine wave were NOT sent to big box retail it would be one of the few MOVIE BaF waves that didn't go.     Usually the movie supporting waves go to all the retailers.

True. I'm fine with that though. I love not buying toys at Walmart and target.

I would not be surprised at all if the Deadpool wave did not include a BAF just like No Way Home.

I could be totally wrong, but it seems like MCU/Media related waves (X-Men '97, Spider-Verse, NWH) are ditching the BAF...

Another thing I'm fine with. In fact, what I would think is a likely BAF was listed as a deluxe release anyway.

Deadpool and Wolverine are known major characters and it's a tie in to the ONLY Marvel Studios movie this year. One that is tracking to possibly make 1 billon at the box office. Damian Hellstrom is a minor character. So that's comparing apples to a lamp post.

Not weighing in on the likelihood of a Deadpool/Wolverine wave, and also acknowledging that PC already pointed this out, but the last several comic BAF waves (Mindless One, Void, Zabu, and now Blackheart) have been Fan Channel only. That seems to be the situation for comic waves for the time being, that they won't be carried by the big box stores.

I do hope there is a plethora of Deadpool/Wolverine merchandise though. Movie stuff of course, but I'd love some comic love as well. Gimme that Agent X figure I've been waiting 20 years for!

The retro carded comic waves are not fan channel, and still hitting Target/Walmart...for now at least.

Just out of curiosity, did Walmart or Target sell the devil guy with the pentagram on his chest from McFarlane?  I think he was in the Shazam or Black Adam film?

Don't know about Walmart. Target definitely did.

Good clarification, I did mean the BAF waves specifically. I'm glad there is still some retail support for comic figures, otherwise I'd be worried.

Did we ever actually find out if they announced new characters on the 18th or today? Or were those just release dates that were hinted?
