@beamish Thanks for the update!

So now I'm super excited for SDCC since I hope we'll get some more "non rumored" X-Men figures revealed. I'm really hoping for a proper X-Men BAF wave. Or orange card one.

Was really hoping they were going to show Quicksilver after Xavier today. Still real curious to see what look he’s going to be in.

Couldn't Dan's favorite Wolverine be Hellverine, revealed today?

Couldn't Dan's favorite Wolverine be Hellverine, revealed today?

Ryan at first (jokingly) said it was, but then pretended to get a text from Dan that said it wasn't Hellverine. So, it is to be revealed at a later date, apparently.

I'd personally love that, but it seems unlikely this year to me. I'm guessing Dan's Wolverine will be in the Secret Wars wave. (I'd like to believe that he wouldn't be referring to a movie version.)

I loved the Ch'od wave, I'd be ecstatic to get another wave similar to that one. 6 out of the 8 characters had never been made in the 6" line before. There are so many X-Men characters that I want that have never been made. They take up 7 of my personal Top 10 right now (Rockslide, Pixie, Anole, Armor, Husk, Magma and Cypher). Monet, Quentin, Chamber and Corsair had all been high on my personal list when that wave was announced, so I was very happy.

I just think that between X-Men '97 and the Wolverine anniversary wave that they probably won't be doing anything else strictly X-Men again this year, especially after dumping Capcom Cable, Bloodstorm and Hellverine (among others) in other non X-Men waves. Hopefully we'll get another X-Men BAF wave next spring.

If the Deadpool wave is half comic, would that count as an X-Men wave if the BAF is comic?

The fact that they're waiting so long to reveal the Deadpool/Wolverine movie wave makes me think it's going to be the rare all MCU wave, kind of like the No Way Home wave was that came out way after the movie or the Eternals wave was. They'll probably use it to include old Fox universe characters that appear in this movie.

It's very clear they're doing everything they can to avoid spoilers, which would be completely unnecessary for comic based figures. If it was half and half they could have easily shown MCU Deadpool, Wolverine and Cassandra and none of those would be surprises or spoilers. I think that it also makes sense to go 100% MCU with that wave since they were unable to do much else MCU based this year, but of course again all of this was planned out so far in advance they really wouldn't have known that ahead of time. They would have expected at least the Captain America MCU wave to have hit by now this year also.

The movie Wolverine was what I assumed he was referring to when Dan first brought it up a few months back.

@stephenwdavis Well, I see your logic. I'd love an all movie wave, but do they usually reveal the comic figures from mixed waves before the movie figures? I honest can't remember.

And all movie waves seem rare these days, but we've had plenty of them beyond Eternals and No Way Home. Guardians 3, Thor 4, Endgame, Infinity War, Black Panther, and of course some of the Disney Plus waves.

@hbhfback yeah, I don't see why the movie one couldn't be the Wolverine he meant.

In the past they have typically revealed the comic based figures in a mixed wave earlier.   That has been a fairly consistent pattern (but maybe not always).

So... the last ALL movie wave they did was Guardians 3.     And, as I speculated at the time with Quantummania and The Marvels -  they hedged their bets with comic figures on those because they were afraid of another blood bath like they took with Eternals or even Blood and Thunder.    Even the wave for Black Panther 2 - while mostly movie based still had two comic based figures in it - and that whole wave hit clearance hard as well.

The fact that those two movies also then cratered at the box office, probably reinforced their faith in the decision they made.

I am still not convinced that we are going to see a full  BAF style wave get wide retail release for the Deadpool/Wolverine movie.   I don't think the big box retail stores want to be caught up in marketing a rated R movie to children.   There will be product,  but I suspect it will be boxed figures or deluxe two packs in collector aimed packaging and while something like a brightly colored Wolverine might be attractive to those big retailers - I'm still not convinced they'll be in for a full baf wave plus deluxe figures for a mature audiences movie.

I'd be happy to be wrong about this,  but it would surprise me as out of character for those retailers.   We should probably know soon at least.

And given all the rumored cameos for this film I hope for Ru'77 and E-Rock and everyone else hungry for MCU figures that this film hits huge and Hasbro goes all in and gives you a ton of the figures you want.

Ages ago in one of their streams, it was either Ryan or Dan who addressed a Deadpool wave when the 1st trailer came out and they said then that movie tie in product doesn't get shown off in streams. I was reminded of that statement last week, so that lends me to believe even more so a wave is coming and it has movie tie in product in it. Now, whether it's a BAF wave or not...we can debate. But it's getting a wave

I imagine their movie tie in partners don't consider a live stream big enough or well coordinated enough with their marketing strategies.
