So here's the thing.    Hot Toys doesn't have to pretend like it's marketed to seven year old boys and can then unabashedly market itself around an "R" rated movie

Hasbro and Disney are in a bit of pickle with the Toy Aisle on a figure line that they still like to market as sellable to children and a movie that is most assuredly NOT intended for children.     Marvel Legends is a line they still sell to the toy aisles of Target and Wal Mart and releasing a wave of figures supporting an R rated film probably makes them squirm.

If we see a wave of Legends to support this movie at all it's going to be either Fan Channel only because of the movies R rating or it's going to be based on comic book content to distance itself from the the film.

I'm not saying you have to like it,  I'm not saying it's necessary - but I do believe that it IS what's happening with two companies like Disney and Hasbro.

They did this before with versions of Deadpool, Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Domino, and Cable that were all based upon the films and sold at retail.  They also did it for Venom and now Carnage from the two R-rated Venom movies.  Why would they suddenly not do it for Deadpool 3 if they've done it for all of the other R-rated films?  As long as the figures themselves aren't R-rated I don't get the thinking.

Ah -  here's the trick   All of the product around Deadpool 2 -  was released at retail AFTER they did the reworked PG-13 release of the film.        There was absolutely a more kid friendly PG-13 cut of that film available which gave Hasbro the green light - and they used it.

Also, they didn't do a BAF wave of retail figures but specialty one off boxed releases that they built into a program that coincided with the release of figures from the original Fox X-Men movies as well.    It is not the same

@panthercult @ashtalon  See my post in the New forum advice thread. I figured out a few things about that. Shouldn't have to but I did.

Secret Wars 2 packs would be fun. Bronze Age A/B lister with C lister villain.

Yes the Deadpool figures came after the movies. But that was cause those were Fox films and Fox films were actively not a main priority for Legends. What changed before the X-Men anniversary line? Disney bought Fox. So figures now a higher priority. Cause Marvel/Disney now owned those movies. Hence why the non MCU Spider-Man spinoffs only get figures well after. Cause Marvel Studios doesn't have direct stake in the non-MCU ones. But the Netflix shows got a mass retail 4 figures in a wave to tie into Daredevil S2, and those were TVMA shows. Further, Deadpool & Wolverine is a MARVEL STUDIOS movie. So the incentive for tie in product is much greater than it was when they were Fox movies. There is gonna be movie figures. Bank on it. It wouldn't make sense to have no revealed the wave by now if there were no movie figures. The delay is going to likely be precisely cause they have to conceal stuff until Marvel gives the greenlight to do so

Not sure if this has been discussed, but Entertainment Earth has a few entires for upcoming preorders.  Some may apply to Legends.  I’m thinking this one may be Odin.

Strange Tales?  Although the school reference is odd.  I almost think Monster High, but that’s a Mattel brand.

Dr Strange?  Was his last classic figure hard to find?  It was a WM exclusive right?

A returning favorite! This hard-to-find action figure is coming soon, and you'll want to set a reminder for something magical

The school reference is likely to do with Strange Academy. Maybe the Strange Tales wave has been a Strange Academy wave this whole time and something got lost in translation with the leak?

I would be happy to get a Strange Academy wave because I love that book and those characters but it would be a little disappointing not to get some classic characters like Baron Mordo or Pip.

So, there are at least 3 EE drops from ashtalon's posts above:

Here are my guesses:

June 18th drop:

Strange Tales Wave

Peeking "behind the curtain" is typically a reference to the Wizard of Oz, so... Wizard, and he debuted in Strange Tales

"Drive you towards a license" - Robbie Reyes with the alternate head, but not the EOV

"Catch our meaning" - no clue, might not be a clue at all

'A returning favorite"/"hard-to-find action figure"/"something magical" - Magik

June 20th drop:

Generation X 2-Pack

"Too ghoul for school" - Synch (technically he was never a ghoul, but he did die and was resurrected. Plus he's a much needed member of Gen X.

"When we page you" - Paige (Husk) Guthrie

I was trying to make renfield75's Strange Academy work with Dead Girl in the "ghoul for school" spot, but I couldn't make the "page" clue work.

June 27th drop:

"Something big, and someone old"/"Father's Day" - Odin

I really hope we get Wizard. All those other choices are wanted as well. Either way excited for Monday's reveals!

Definitely hoping the “ghoul” reference is for something horror related. Preferably classic Dracula.

The June 18th release is GI Joe, not Marvel legends.  June 18th they are releasing Mad Marauders and a Cobra Jeep Vehicle.  So, the "license" in the clue is for driving the Cobra Vehicle, and the "Hero" in the clue is for A Real American Hero.

Robbie, Magik, Synch and Husk would THRILL me if they were all about to be released! And save me a lot of custom work.
