As a primarily MCU collector, this is looking like a very light year, unfortunately. Cap 4 and Thunderbolts were delayed to next year, so I assume the figures will be too. I’m really excited about MCU Wolverine, but it looks like there don’t be much else I’ll be picking up 🙁

Same, though if anything were to tempt me to dabble in comic stuff it'd be secret wars retro figures.

And IF Cap 4 keeps that date, we may see figures at the end of this year. I'll take the Deadpool figures though, no complaints. I'd love to finally get a movie Wolverine and I appreciate Colossus finally happening.

I guess the Red Widow they've teased is in one of the Avengers waves?

Is she Fan Channel/Pulse? I thought one of the Hasbro guys said that somewhere, but I don't remember.

Eliminating the stuff I’m not fussed by (anything MCU), things pinging my radar:

- Strange Tales assortment

it’s probably just some first appearance heroes, but God if it was a wave of classic Kirby monster weirdness I’d buy dozens of everything…

- Venom + Carnage set/retro Carnage

Still holding out for a combination of the textured Carnage body, classic head, scythe hand and alt Cletus head. Could this be the moment?

- Iron Fist and unknown figure

They’ll make us suck up another Luke, but fingers crossed for a perfect classic Danny.

- Odin (Unknown if MCU or Comic)

Ornate gold comic armour with huge curly horns. Yes please

- Ghost Rider (Unknown which one)

Still need a bike for Johnny, but will take a spare Ketch bike too

- Man-Thing (Unknown if comic or MCU)

Probably a repaint of the BAF, but would love a brand new sculpt. If not, seems like something MS would slay.

- 4-pack with Dr. Doom, Iron Patriot, Taskmaster and Loki

Don’t even need the first three, but would buy in a flash for a decent Simonson Loki

- Destiny and Mystique 2-pack

I’m not even that big of an X collector and even I’m in for Destiny. With her and Warren due, a green Banshee is pretty much all that’s left on my essentials list.

So, the "rumored" waves we don't have confirmation of any attached figures so far are:

Iron Man Retro, which could have Heroes Reborn Iron Man and Count Nefaria.

Avengers Retro, which could also have Heroes Reborn Iron Man, Count Nefaria plus 1st Appearance Wasp, Herald Thor repaint, Quicksilver, Red Widow (if she's not Fan Channel/Pulse) and 'Avengers ally' Ikaris.

Cap 4 wave, that someone said was going to be a film and comic split wave.

Deadpool 3 wave.

Finally some exciting news! The leaks from rektangular left me cold. Other than Destiny and Retro Warbird there was nothing else for me.

Retro Secret Wars packaging needs to happen. Two waves would give us quite a strong line-up of characters mixing Mattel's selection and some omissions in that line. Hopefully they'll look like this:

Wave 1

Iron Man

Falcon

Daredevil

Wolverine

Titania

Absorbing Man

Wave 2

Spider-Man

Captain America

Iceman

Rogue

Volcana

Beyonder

Gah. Hadn't even occurred to me that they'd stick Loki with unique sculpting in this multi-pack. Of course they will.

Destiny is great.  I don't feel a need for yet another Mystique, but I suppose she's the price to pay to get Destiny.

Odin could be the BAF re-released.  Hasbro seems to like re-releasing BAFs, so I can see the Odin BAF getting re-released, maybe in new colors.

The Secret Wars wave is intriguing.  Obviously lots of possibilities, but She-Hulk, Titania, Volcana, Falcon, and Rogue are the most intriguing for me.  Pinless brown costume Wolverine probably is likely.  I wouldn't mind Captain America, as it could be the light-blue Captain America but with a solid shield this time.

Warbird getting a re-release/update is nice for those who missed the last figure.  I'm not sure there's a current body which looks as nice as the original.  The only aspect they could improve is her mask.

Hulkbuster.  Hope we get a comic version, which Hasbro hasn't attempted before.  They could dust off the MCU BAF again for a 3rd release.  I feel like the anniversary Hulkbuster/Hulk set didn't see a ton of distribution, so maybe a released of HB is warranted.  Again, hope it's something comic-based though.

Three deluxe Captain America sets could be cool.  A new Constrictor is needed but not a fan of having to get yet another Crossbones to get him.

A classic Iron Fist would be great.  Could come with a Luke Cage in blue, but maybe that's too obvious.

Strange Tales could be very interesting as I'm not quite sure what it'll be.  Retro Kirby-esque monsters would be great, but is that something Hasbro would tackle?

Things that could be covered under Strange Tales:

Doctor Strange (and Baron Mordo), Nick Fury and assorted SHIELD characters, Brother Voodoo, Ulysses Bloodstone, Cloak and Dagger, Adam Warlock, Gamora, Pip and Magus.

So some interesting choices on offer, though I’ll always be pulling for the monsters…

I think that is it. We are likely overthinking the Strange Tales moniker and equating it to characters that actually appeared in Timely and then Marvel's comic of that name. As much as I'd want a Goom and Paste Pot Pete action figure this seems like a catch all Marvel term for the weirdo corners of the Marvel Universe.

Wizard, Trapster (as Paste Pot Pete) and Plantman all debuted in Strange Tales, fighting Johnny Storm who was a regular. Wong, Ancient One, Umar, Eternity and Living Tribunal all debuted in Strange Tales, too.

Watch them do that weird off painted Captain America debut from Strange Tales. The one where someone impersonates Cap before he is freed from the ice with a wrong colored shield and costume.

@hbhfback Ok, than would be cool. That said, with how Hasbro has been doing figures in recent years, it wouldn't shock me to see them base the figure on her look with he weird silver armor. We'll just have to wait and see, but I do hope I'm wrong.

Strange Tales featuring some SHIELD figures would be nice.  616 Nick Fury in suit?  Maybe classic Hydra goon?

Trapster/Paste Pot Pete would be cool.   As well as Wizard.

Comic Baron Mordo?   Classic Adam Warlock.   Brother Voodoo.

The BAF could be one of the 50s monsters.   I imagine this would be an online-only wave, like the Mindless One wave.
