I'm very excited about pre-ordering this two pack because

A) Zemo and Zola are characters I've loved since they first appeared and

B) I FINALLY get to retire the ToyBiz Zemo figure.

Let's work on the classic 70's style Falcon next, Hasbro.  That's another ToyBiz figure that needs to go to the old action figures rest home.

Jean arrived today. Somehow the face sculpt is less cartoony than Scott's, and I like it. Only real issue I have is her ponytail does NOT want to stay plugged into the back of her head - I was going to keep that as her default look for better ROM but we'll see how well it stays.

See,  that's why this pack is so cynical though.   Because of course I need to retire that Toy Biz Zemo... of course I need this new Zemo figure.    But they're making me buy Zola again without changing much about him even to do it.

Couldn't they have packed the new Baron with someone we're lacking to make the package even more must have?  From that early Masters of Evil storyline in Avengers it would make sense to include the Melter or Executioner (Skurge) or even Immortus....  all of those would have been way more welcome than another Arnim... that's all.

But they know we need this update Baron so they can skimp on anything new and give us this recycled version.   

Or perhaps I'm being too harsh since it was 12 years ago that this Zola figure came out... maybe some people need him.   

While I also grumble about getting Zola again, I think your point about how long it's been since he's been out and some folks needing him at an affordable rate is likely, @panthercult. I had also thought it might be Hasbro trying to further recoup the costs of his unique molding again.

FA Wonderman? How expensive would that have been. Other than figuring out the ridges on the shirt sleeves most of it is just basic.

Although I'm not too fussed about buying Zola again (and think he's fair game for a rerelease in his classic look - plus I *love* the updated faceplate) there's no denying that a Zemo/FA Wonder Man (or Melter, Skurge, etc) would have been absolutely killer. 

It would have been better if they'd released Zola as a single packed deluxe figure along the lines of Thanos, MODOK, and Mojo. That way those who missed him the first time around could get him for a decent price, and those of us that already have him could pass.

Then they could have released Zemo with another character like FA Wonder Man, or The Executioner. As it is, even though I want Zemo, I'm skipping the two-pack because I'm just too strapped to lay out $50 to end up yet another figure that I already have.

It'll be $35 by summer.

I am so glad that this is now a thing in the world.

Your move, Hasbro! Jennifer Walters/Madisynn, updated She-Hulk/Madisynn, don't need another Wongerz/Madisynn. Releases like this are exactly why Funkos are winning the culture wars. 🙂

Just to be clear, I'm not wild about having to buy another Zola.  If Zemo had to come out in a two pack, I would have much preferred a never-before made character to come with him.  But this is the action figure hobby.  Over the years, I have gotten used to the idea that we have to buy something we already have to get something we don't.  Or buy something we don't want to get something we do. 

And in fairness, Hasbro is not the only company that plays that little game.  Mattel was notorious for it back when they had the DC license.  I guess I've just learned to live with it.

Of course, it was a lot easier to live with it back when Marvel Legends were only 7.99 a pop.

Got a bunch of emails that a bunch of figures from Pulse will be charging soon. Comes out to about $350 in total for all the preorders. Damn this hobby is expensive!

All four Wolverine 2pks, the entire next Spider-Man retro wave, DD/Hydroman, and Angel. All incoming.

Yeah I canceled three of those 2pks from GameStop. I kept the Sabretooth/Wolverine 2pk and Angel. I have a good feeling the other three aren't in any trouble to sell out everywhere they are being sold.

That's insane. They need to be made aware that "spreading out pre-orders" doesn't do any good if the orders all come in at the same time and bankrupt their fan base.

I never got Zola the first time, or any other time, so this two pack is great for me 

The Walmart exclusives were still available an hour after they went live today. I always like an unmasked version so I caved on Prowler even though I don't need a new one. Debating the Cap variant since I actually like the costume design a lot, but have not attachment to the storyline.
