@schizmĀ Those Marvel Studios reissues are moving pretty well at mine too.
Forgot about those - thanks!
And I never said the line was dying - I questioned if the line was healthy. And this is a pretty big change in how the line has been run and sold for decades, so it's not a ridiculous question.
Ā
Yeah there could be a bright side to these BAF waves going Fan Channel/Amazon. I mean these recent non-retail waves have indeed had less A-list presence and a more eclectic group of comic characters, and perhaps that is a *good* thing. Iād much rather they specialize the classic comic stuff rather than eliminating it.
Ā
... but the sculpted glove line on the Vulcan buck stays.
I mean... that just looks like trash.
That's not even the Vulcan buck.Ā That's the retooled pinless spider uk buck.Ā I think they used the forearm separation for the Ikarus figure.Ā Ā
Ā
HASBRO:Ā PLEASE STOP THE CUTS IN THE BODY!
Just make a whole new forearm or use an overlay. Or, if you have to , have one regular clean fore arm, and one that is thinner at the cut they have there that can take a glued on overlay easier.
And if you HAVE to have these seperate pieces, make them articulated.Ā Non articulated cuts are so annoyingly glaring.
Ā
The line has been dying for five years now. 🙄
It's been slowly dying since it was born. The line has been dying for five years now. 🙄

They retooled it but I guarantee they didn't fix the sculpted fabric behind the knees that hindered the knee articulation. I wish they'd just retire that body.
Ā
It's new Baron Von Strucker body (retooled pinless Spider UK, yes). If you have him, you already know how "agile" he is. New Prowler will look fine on your shelf. He is much better than the old figure. And the unmasked head is a nice bonus. But that's it.Ā
When was the last comic Prowler figure released? About four years ago? Not much has changed since then. In that time they could have improved this line, updated articulation, brought in designers who understand how it works. Good Ball Jointed torso should be the standart. Instead, we have the same articulation style we had 10 years ago, with few exceptions.
I'm also tired of big head sculpts (Animated Morbius), small shoulders (Hawkeye) and long ass arms (Magneto 97). Is it really that hard to fix these problems?
Ā
Perhaps these waves being fan channel only has to do with how quickly Target etc clearances or puts sales on them. Making them fan channel means more units are selling at full price. If you look at the void wave, they have rarely been discounted on amazon since release. I think this line is doing just fine.
Yeah, I was thinking the same, this could be Hasbro's choice to course correct from the over-ordering due to the pandemic. There's tons of items that go straight to fan channel, it's obviously a viable choice.
This is all speculation on my part, I have no insight whatsoever. But neither does anybody else commenting on this. We've seen it for years, clearance and peg-warming doesn't mean the line is dying.
A rare completist spell came over me last year and I planned to pick-up every Wolverine variant that came out starting with the Juggernaut wave Wolvie. I'm glad to see so much love for him this year, but the idea of buying multiple two-packs to get variants of him that I don't know or care about have killed that plan. Fortunately, I've only purchased two variants that I don't care about or really like (black costume and lava claws or whatever), so I'm not too invested. Hopefully, we'll get an Albert, Astonishing, and a Space Wolverine before it's all through.
I proudly put Hot Claws Wolverine into my New Avengers display. I like it. He's very bright, but I like the thicker claws.
@ashtalon I know of at least 1 Brood Wolverine that will be on eBay pretty quick for a reasonable amount.
One? I feel like most Brooverines are going to end up on Ebay. Same with black lace Wolverine except this time without black lace.
That one really bugs me - they already did that one off outfit, and a one-off outfit does not need two figures. I want that Psylocke - I love the evil face and all the sculpted detail in her unique costume - but that Wolverine is just BS. I know he's part of that cover/plotline - but he's already done.
I'm going to put on my nerd cap here, but that Cable (who I incorrectly think of as Ian Churchill) was, I believe, first drawn by David Brewer in 1994, some 6 years BEFORE the MvC game was released.
Ā
Yeah I see it as Ian Churchill too.Ā Right around the time AoA was about to start and then after it just about into the 2000s.Ā Greg Capullo and Romita Jr. had their versions of Cable that were like X-Force and then the next iteration was basically an X-costume but more Cable-specific which is what we have here!!Ā They did a great job and I might have some fun doing a little paint work to make other iterations as well.
Ā
Wear your nerd hat!Ā I do.Ā I read a lot of the comics that inspire the figures and plenty of others didn't.Ā On the flip side I love when cool figures introduce me to some comics I missed.
