Looks like the Colossus & Juggernaut 2-pack is being reissued, pre-orders are popping up now.

(Apologies if this was mentioned in the stream and I missed it)

I'm going to put on my nerd cap here, but that Cable (who I incorrectly think of as Ian Churchill) was, I believe, first drawn by David Brewer in 1994, some 6 years BEFORE the MvC game was released.

Capcom's design were all based on approved Marvel art anyway. But I guess it's just more recognizable as the MVC2 Cable, because Liefeld's Cable with the huge shoulders was his more recognizable comic look.

The best thing about Cable is it looks like they used the same strap system they used on VHS Cyclops.  That Cyclops was a top 20 figure of 2022, so here's hoping Cable ends up a top 20 figure for this year.

When the Void BAF wave was revealed, Ryan said that was the Avengers wave for 2024.

Now we have the Zabu BAF mixed wave of 4 X-related characters (Wolfsbane, Cable, Ka-Zar and Zabu) and 4 Avengers-related characters (Tony, Thor-ish variant, enemy Red Widow and occasional guest star ally/enemy Ikaris).

Are we still getting an X-Men only BAF wave? I hope so, since at the very least it would be nice to get another Starjammer to add to that team.

It’s also a case of it being a suit that he wore for a comparatively brief time in the actual comics, so most of its notoriety comes from the game. Even the Hasbro team alluded to it during the livestream.

It is, funny enough, similar to the modular armor Iron Man look. Tony didn’t wear it very long in the comics, but it’s one of his most recognizable looks because it’s what was used in the 90s cartoon and Marvel vs. Capcom.

I'm wondering if the comic figs from the Deadpool movie wave got moved up to fill the spots of the missing Cap 4 MCU figs or if Hasbro just pulled up some designs they had ready to go, so I'll be real curious to see who ends up in the DP wave. I want more Gen X members!!!

Maybe they really did have Wolfsbane ready... for years... it is interesting that they now have two very different furry female bodies... but the sculpted glove line on the Vulcan buck stays.

I mean... that just looks like trash.

None of these are characters I plan on displaying, but that Ikaris made me sit up and take notice. I'm also happy for those who are finally seeing the unspoken promise of an X-Factor Wolfsbane fulfilled.

I do want an Arnim Zola, but I think I prefer the original BAF's colors. So I guess if anybody wants to offset the cost of this 2-pack by selling the BAF, hit me up.

Since we're getting Ikaris with all of his crazy paint aps, can we get Jack of Hearts next? Please?

Nick Fury is definitely coming with a white Nick Fury head, right?

@thor-el Black Winter is just...sigh.  If they had used this body for a Copiel Thor redo, it would have been so much more interesting.  Black Winter just seems like such a lazy design, but I suppose it's an obvious cost-cutting reuse.

I resent that. As I said 1,000 times on the old forum, that Thor body is too small for Coipiel Thor. Talk about obvious cost-cutting reuse...

Jack with the paint apps and dedicated sculpt of this Ikaris would be incredible. Let’s hope when they finally get to him, Jack gets the love that he deserves.

@derrabbi Dr. Doom body with a new belt/skirt piece would probably work

@mmg310 yeah; I'd take it. I sort of prefer the scale or chain mail look with leather boots and gloves. But he's been drawn in all sorts of armor. He doesn't have one iconic look. More a pastiche. Orange, white, purple, steel and leather are his motifs. Maybe the Kirby pronged helmet is the most iconic part of him.

So we got Cosmo last year as a BaF and Zabu this year, I wonder if there's any chance that we could get LockJaw in next year's Avenger's wave with Crystal as one of the figures in the wave? (Though when we do get Crystal, I really hope she comes with a second head so I can put her on the spare retro Invisible woman I bought and have both looks)

The Zabu wave is Fan Channel and Amazon only - that's three BAF waves in a row skipping physical retail.

I know this latest wave is an accidental mishmash when movie schedules shifted. The last D+ was clearanced out at spectacular speed. NWH seems to have sold very well with the exception of MJ, who is the only reason that wave is even represented in toy aisles. X-Men sold well and was clearanced too quickly.

What does all this say about the health of the line?
