So, what follows may be pure unadulterated speculation, but I was looking through artist Ron Frenz's gallery on Facebook this morning, and stumbled across this from August of 2023...
Normally, I wouldn't think much of it but it has the "Avengers: Beyond Earth's Mightiest" branding in the corner. And it got my mental gears turning. Retailer box set? Upcoming 2024 HasLab set? Totally nothing and I'm reaching...? Maybe. Still, it has a lot of characters and looks we've all been asking for for some time.
*shrugs*
Don't you do it....don't you dare get my hopes up for the good Doctor. Too late, you've done it.
Â
@stuartgreen That is Dr. Druid. 😀
Damnit. I was about to say Doctor Mordrid but clearly a very different character...
Â
We haven't gotten a real comic-based She-Hulk since 2017, and even that was in the A-Force pack. Before that, it was 2008. It's getting silly.
I'd bet that exact version of She-Hulk on the Avengers artwork will appear in 2024 in one of two possible places:
-Avengers Retro Card wave
-Secret Wars Anniversary line, like in a 2-pack with classic Titania
Apologies, I didn’t manage to jot down everything but a regular ML scooper on Youtube dropped a new video (rektangular) so again rumors grain of salt etc…
Stuff that is new and not already been mentioned that I remember:
Â
Across the Spiderverse wave 2
Strange Tales Wave
Â
Annivesary Superior Spiderman
Retro Prowler
Retro Xavier (possible jumpsuit?)
Retro Quicksilver (green costume)
Retro Warbird
Retro Carnage
Multipacks:
F4 Spiderman and Wolverine (as everyone guessed)
Crossbones Constrictor 2 pack
Loki Doom Iron Patriot Taskmaster 4 pack
Destiny& Mystique 2 pack
Venom carnage deluxe 2 pack
Â
Possibly Deluxe:
Red Hulk MCU
Venompool
Iron fist
Hulkbuster
Ghost Rider
Odin
Man Thing
Skaar son of Hulk
Here's the video. Sounds like Venom is one of the three anniversaries.Â
Notable characters that debuted in the first three volumes of Strange Tales:
Fin Fang Foom
The Golem
Eternity
Living Tribunal
Wizard
Trapster/Paste Pot Pete
Wong
Baron Mordo
Ancient One
Nightmare
Umar
Brother Voodoo
Gamora
Pip the Troll
Plantman
Ulysses Bloodstone
Â
Notable characters that were featured in the first three volumes of Strange Tales:
Johnny Storm Human Torch
Dr. Strange
Nick Fury
Adam Warlock
Cloak & Dagger
Â
The Strange Tales min-series featured:
Werewolf By Night
Man-Thing
Â
So, in conclusion, I can see a BAF wave of "strange" characters, a mixture of cosmic, mystic and a wrap-up of the Frightful Four:
Classic Adam Warlock
Classic Gamora
Classic Brother Voodoo
Baron Mordo
Nightmare
Wizard
Trapster
BAF Man-Thing, who was mentioned in rektangular's video.
Very interesting news. I feel we really don't know much about 2024 outside of seeing X-Men '97 and the Wolverine set. The X-Men BAF wave and Iron Man retro are particularly interesting. But extra deluxe and anniversary figures are always welcome.
Â
I would expect Secret Wars. Venom is not 1984, the original symbiote might be though. I would love a Generation X set or Maximum Carnage. Â
Here's the leaked list that dropped in Robo's Discord server. Some differences between the two, but I'm sure as hell not watching rektangular to find out.
A disturbing lack of X-Men here. Destiny is very excited, but little beyond that, Professor X, and another Wolverine pack.

I didn’t watch the whole thing just kinda skimmed through as the images popped up on mute, I forgot to mention above that there is supposedly another single Carded-Wolverine coming (Astonishing ?🤞)
That list is identical to everything rekt mentioned
That Cabal 4-pack is the thing I'm most interested in. A redone Taskmaster and Iron Patriot are two of my biggest wants. A new Loki might be nice too. I don't have much need for another Doom, but one can't have too many either I suppose.
I'm simultaneously surprised but also not that they're celebrating Venom's anniversary this year. I mean, I know Venom always sells, but at the same time like, does this really count as the character's anniversary? I guess on technicality it counts for one half at least.
I wonder if that Venom and Carnage pack is going to be movie based. Feel like almost it has to be if they're going to release a different (presumably comic based) Carnage on a retro card.
One of those anniversary figures is almost certainly going to be a symbiote Spider-Man, since it's really his anniversary. Possibly on a Secret Wars retro card. The other might just be a mass release for a Venom on the Omega Red body as both previous versions were exclusives in some way.
Outside of that, I might also be in for Hulkbuster (if comic based), Man-Thing, Superior Spider-Man, and Ghost Rider. Will probably try to find that Crossbones loose since I don't have much interest in Constrictor.
Ok just watched that video. What is Skaar an anniversary of??? I will take more Hulks, but want World War Hulk characters who never got figures before. I want interesting choices rather than safe. A Venom/Carnage pack could be epic! I think Carnage is the new "King in Black" according to a cover by Bjorns Barends anyway. Give me that and a cyborg Venom it's bought. Repaints or movie? hard pass.
Â
I hope Xavier on the retro card is the SHIAR suit to complete that Uncanny 275 set and go with Lilandra. That's a lot of info and this year has a quite a bit of potential with the line, Maybe Dwight was right that it's epic 😀Â
Â
Glad I'm not the only one who isn't a Rekt fan. Nothing sucks enthusiasm away like he does lol
I always love these leaked lists! However this one was more underwhelming for me than usual. Too many re-do's/remakes and not enough previously unmade characters for my liking. I'll likely buy many of the re-do's but I'll NEVER be excited about purchasing ANY character a multiple time. I don't like being punished as a consumer because Hasbro didn't make the definitive version the first time around.Â
The most exciting mention was easily Destiny for me. Nothing else that really made me all that happy even though I know that it's likely end up buying most of the re-dos (and selling the old versions for pennies on the dollar compared to what I originally paid).
I'm hoping that we finally get a proper Jim Hammond figure in that Strange Tales wave. I'm hoping we get Spider-Man India in the Spider-verse wave even though I generally hate that animated style.
After what I thought was a tremendous 2023 the only 2024 figures that I'm really excited for so far are Hallow's Eve, Madelyne Pryor, Destiny and hopefully Nefaria. Otherwise the leaks have been mostly disappointing for me personally. I do hope they "scratch the itch" for others, though.
Â
I will wait til we see the figures first. End of Venomverse has great potential as figures. Hasbro just mostly does safe with little tooling. I think X-Men should be one of the comic BAF waves mentioned so it's not over with them. Maybe some other stuff gets in there too. With this license nearly everything should or at least could be badass. Unfortunately their batting average is quite low with me. Still, there's always a chance 😶Â
