Only interested in the 90s Sabretooth/Logan 2 Pack & Lilandra/Broodverine (Mainly for Lilandra).

Lady Mandarin is an odd choice, not a fan, especially as it didn't last very long & Outback Psylocke is the only version I would've wanted, but I see the connection for the 2 pack.
Didn't Joe & Patch only have the suits for the cover?
A bit underwhelming for me personally.

Also did they credit the wrong artists for the Brood-Wolverine original cover?

@tsi I didn't suggest Marvel Legends wave assortments caused layoffs.  Someone else alluded to it, I just said all bets are off since brands have been damaged by media in the last couple years.  Maybe their entertainment division absorbs the layoffs(?)  The Legends team was very pumped for 2024 so that's great.  I'm leaving it at that

Speaking of, Psylocke is badass - by far the most impressive figure for me today.  Great art from Jim Lee will always get my attention.  Likewise Sabretooth.  Hopefully he doesn't take a spot in X-Men '97 now.  Assuming it gets the hinted at 3rd wave.  I would've liked A.L.B.E.R.T. or Team X but oh well.  Not 100% sure I'm buying anything as their overall output is very weak for me, but I see promise.  Could be a big X year.  Phoeniz?

So the only  MCU merch shown today was 2 re-re-re-re-rereleases of the same 2 tired characters? I get that these are for "NeW cOlLeCtOrS" but what new collectors can't get their hands on IM and SM??? Heck, they were literally in the last I.S. wave that hasn't even shipped yet in some places! This is the exact opposite of what collectors have asked for with this kind of I.S. line.. I just don't get it. No Loki S2, no WBN.

Honestly, the sheer fact that both Ryan and Dwight picked animated figures (one from freaking Sony) as their favorite end of year "MCU" figure really puts it all into perspective for me. And that's really the bottom line.

How many of these streams will MCU collectors have to sit through only to be completely let down. These re-re-re-releases are a slap in the face imo.

Marvel has been screwing Hasbro over on the MCU since Black Widow.  Granted, it wasn't either company's fault that a global pandemic broke out and the movies had to be delayed.  But I only grant that for 2020, 2021, and I'll throw in 2022--but Feige has moved release dates around even in 2023 liberally in a way that says he doesn't care what happens to Hasbro.  They haven't been able to release MCU figures even ONCE within three months of a film's release since No Way Home, have they?  EVERY Marvel movie since then has moved once, and in most cases several times, and with the latest round of moves within the last month Feige is still saying he doesn't care how much he screws Hasbro over.

So I don't really blame Hasbro for de-emphasizing the MCU for now.  If Feige doesn't care, I don't see how Hasbro is supposed to keep bending over and taking it from him.  2022 and 2023 were the years where stability should have returned, but it absolutely hasn't, so I'd likely wait for Marvel to stop pushing EVERY release date after Hasbro has products in the pipeline before I returned to making lots of MCU figures if I were the Hasbro execs, too.

I mean the Sam Wilson Cap they showed is a cool looking toy. I allow some modern characters to break through into my Silver and Bronze age collection on occasion and he passes that test. Still ... need to point out its ANOTHER Sam Wilson that isn't the Bronze Age classic costume.

@enigmaticclarity  They are probably screwing up other merchandising synergies as well. Bed sheets, Slurpee cups, whatever else they plaster stuff on these days. Most of which probably more important than toys. I'd say 2020 and 21 the pandemic was the reason and 22 and 23 it was the streaming Wars arms build up that created those situations. i cant imagine his bosses don't lament the lack of full cohesive marketing of the Marvel properties. Maybe they now realize they are partially to blame.

Was in meetings all morning, so a lot to unpack from today's stream

The two packs are pretty much exactly what i thought they were going to be.   I thought there was a chance the Wolverine with Lilandra might be in the Fang costume.... but the brood infected Wolvie doesn't really surprise me and it looks pretty cool.

Despite what others were hoping I felt pretty confident we'd be getting the Lady Mandarin Psylocke here even if I would have preferred Outback Betsy.   That version makes a certain sense to pair with Madripoor Wolverine.

Sabretooth and Logan seems pretty much exactly right.   Big beefy Creed was what many were asking for and it was I suppose time for that version to get revisited.     And Mr. Fixit/Patch is pretty much perfectly spot on.   Happy to be getting that one.

Angel looks magnificent so I'll happily accept multiple repaints now please -  blue and white halo costume, gawdy yellow and red "graduation" costume, x-factor costume -  I'm here for all of it.

This Falcon release just makes me kind of grumpy about the last release of that costume in a multi-pack with out wings.

But all in all this was a pretty satisfying set of reveals.    I'm sure I'll end up buying them all.   Which ones will I have the fortitude to wait for clearance prices though?   That is the question.

Feige is trying to readjust and get Marvel Studios back on track. He lost a lot of his decision making powers under Bob Chapek but now that Bob Iger came back, so has his ability to make plans for the MCU. Hopefully, the quality and the success of the MCU will get back to what it was a few years ago. Before Bob Chapek decided that quantity trumped quality.

If they do release a blue costume Angel in time then its easy to know where to space them out on your shelves.  The blue and white goes on the Xmen shelf by the other Neil Adams like figures they have (classic Iceman, Marvel Girl, Havok and Polaris) and the red Angel goes up on the Defenders shelf. Of course they need a few additional figures for both. X-Men need a Neil Adams red and blue Beast. They should also redo a Byrne / Cockrum Cyclops pinless and throw in another head with the Neil Adams narrow visor. A lot of us would buy 2.  We all know they need Gargoyle, classic Valkyrie and a few others to round out the classic Defenders.

@enigmaticclarity I get what you're saying. I admit the delays probably haven't made it easy on Hasbro. I don't know if I'd go as far as to say Fiege doesn't care as he attempts to readjust. I'm not behind closed doors so I can't speak to that.

But delays aside I still don't see how Hasbro can't make some necessary changes to keep up with the ebb and flo of current Hollywood that doesn't include completely drawing back. There are plenty of back logged characters that should have nothing to do with current delays.

I mean there is backlogged characters and then you run up to the reason they weren't made in the first place. Is there THAT big a demand for things like Justin Hammer and Malekith then; much less 10 years later? MCU figures with their intensive dedicated sculpting costs many times what most comic figures cost.

The talk of the O5 X-Men has me thinking it'd be nice if they did a more properly scaled teen Cyclops to go with the Champions they've already released.

The flame base could be for dozens of characters so it seems like an overly-broad hint.  Since they just hit Dark Phoenix, Firestar, and Ghost Rider recently my guess would be more towards Johnny Storm or Sunfire.

Given that we've now gotten most of the other top-tier characters in premium forms over the past few years my guess is that it's Human Torch from some sort of premium Fantastic Four wave or set.

My guess is Rachel Summers finally in her hound costume to wrap up Excalibur

I get figures take time to make, but my issue is that the Marvel Studios line here has been just essentially reissues. We haven't gotten anything new out of it, and that to me isn't a delay issue. That's just not making anything new for it. I get delays happen and all and toy cannot make characters you didn't intend to on a fast track. But just redoing old figures, and at that the worst versions of those figures in the Iron Spider and new Iron Man case. They could have at least single carded the improved 2 pack versions even if they didn't have as many extras as the 2 pack had. Its just lackluster all around. I aint saying make 50 new MCU characters for this line. But 1 or 2 would be nice
