The Tuxedo Twins look great. Brood Wolverine is a weird choice, as is that Psylocke. Angel looks great also. Nothing as exciting as something like Albert and Elsie-Dee would have been, but Black Tie White Noise works well enough.
In for just angel i guess. These 2 packs are really weird choices. I imagine the Sabretooth would have sold no matter what he was packed with and the fixit/patch one makes sense since anyone that wants one wants the other but the other two are really random. I would have bought Lilandra on her own but no way am I getting stuck with a one-off wolverine figure just to get her. The Psylocke one should have been an easy slam dunk but they went with a look no one wanted. The only way people would have been interested in that is if it came with Mandarin which would have actually made sense.
Brood Wolverine is a weird choice
It gives me hope we get more Brood figures later. If we don't see any over the next year or two then it's a particularly weird choice.
I've got no use for Brood possessed figures. I'd rather have Broo from Wolverine's school. I'm still really surprised by their Lady Mandarin choice. I don't know anything about when Psylocke was in that persona. I didn't read those issues. How many issues did that even last? It's just such an odd choice, and further delays something like her original or armored Outback look. And Dwight seemed so confident about the choice too! It's like "Yeah, we made an armored Psylocke! Your voices have been heard!" Nooo not THAT one...

I think it was only three? Real brief. But if I'm not mistaken, it was the first, or at least among the first, issues done by Jim Lee. A lot of people like him.

Correct. It was during the Acts of Vengeance crossover.

I was disappointed with the stream. I guess I'm just not their target market anymore.
I can't speak to the MCU or Cartoon figures because I don't collect them, so it's not fair to comment, and I realize they aren't only going to make comic-figures.Â
The Crimson Guard lady looks nice, not $25 nice, but she will probably go on clearance and I will pick her up then. Not anything I need, but I do enjoy my Crimson Guard team and she can add to it even though I never heard of her.
Wolverine / Sabertooth is okay. A big beefy Sabertooth was my most wanted figure for a long, long time. I wound up getting the Diamond Select one while waiting for Hasbro to do something. Now that I have the Diamond Select one, the non-pinless new one, which is part of a 2-pack with a Wolverine I definitely have no interest in, seems unexciting and I may skip it.
Hasbro doing Hasbro things, giving us the least desired versions of a character for years before giving the one we want. And then still not doing it as good as they could (pinless joints). And then pairing it with a cheap reuse unpopular version of another character requiring us to buy both.Â
Tuxedo Wolverine / Mr Fix It 2 pack I will probably buy. I like that cover. I am on the fence, and it will probably depend on whether or not they Hasbro the execution by making the colors not match the Wal Mart Exclusive Mr Fix It. Because I just bought that a few months ago and if I can't swap heads and hands between them, it's going to make me a lot less excited.
The psylocke is the least desired of all of the possible psylockes they could have made. I guess holding something back for later.
Lilandra is great, but I made a Lilandra from a Silver Sable with the Lilandra head from Mystique (I think) several years ago. Brood wolverine looks nice but I dont have any other brood characters to display him with. So this set is a maybe, contingent on if Hasbro releases brood army builders.
Angel looks great, no complaints there.Â
I'm not a huge Avengers guy so the comic Evil Captain America and Sam Captain America dont mean much to me. They look cool but I dont have much desire for them.
I would have loved a Roughhouse, an Albert with Elsie Dee, a ton of other wolverine side characters would have been amazing.
Love the Patch/Mr Fixit set. Perfect.
Sabretooth looks amazing.  I actually also really like the cowboy Wolverine. Â
Brood Wolverine is interesting. A kinda neat variation of the character. I'm not sure too many other X-Men warrant Brood variations, so he'll probably be a one-off. Regular Broods would be great though. Lilandra looks good. Glad I never bothered making a body for her head.
I have less than zero interest in the Psylocke set.
Angel looks amazing. I prefer this red costume to the blue version. For those saying a blue version in inevitable, we never got an X-Force variation of the deluxe Archangel they made years back (other than in a SDCC set which predated the deluxe release), so I wouldn't count on it. It's one of those "so obvious but for some reason they don't make it" releases.
The flame effect looks to have a rectangular plug on the top, so I doubt that works directly with any figure. How would it? So I think it has to plug into something other than a figure. A figure could then be on top of whatever plugs into the flame.

While I have no desire for this Psylocke or Wolverine, I've always liked the "crime boss" Mandarin look.

I got the sense that he was saying it was a passion project for him personally, much like the Reavers. For all the Marvel stuff he doesn't know off the top of his head (not having watched the animated X-Men, for example) he pulled the Siege Perilous reference out with no trouble - I think this is *his* era of X-Men. Which makes me all the more sanguine about the fact that we will be finishing the Outback team, since he seems personally invested in seeing them made. He just wanted Lady Mandarin, and this was probably the only chance to get her done. Maybe some of these pieces can be reused for armored Betsy?

If I'm remembering correctly the Brood eggs usually transform their body into a Brood pretty quickly, but that wasn't the case with Wolverine because the Brood embryo couldn't change the form of his adamantium skeleton, plus Logan's healing factor kept fighting against it. So yea, Logan being temporarily stuck as part human, part Brood is a one-off.
Is this it for the Wolverine anniversary? Four 2-packs? I don't think any of the guys said anything like "that's all...for now" unless I missed something.
With this Angel coming, my desire for a human Beast in the Neal Adams/Graduation red-and-blue costume just jumped even farther up my want list. Get that checked off and repainting him in his red-and-blue and brown-and-yellow X-Factor costumes is a snap.
Â
yep. Use this new body for Mimic with the same Angel wingsÂ
Â
I'm content with the First Appearance X-Men box set - not perfect but honestly the costumes are fairly dull and I don't think they could improve it enough for me to rebuy it at $125+. And I don't see them doing FA Angel as a solo release.
I'd much rather have an X-Factor box set, with a blue-yellow Cyke, human Beast, non-iced Bobby, Angel and one of the Jean color combos (the other Jean combo could be an easy repaint).Â
I still display my set but I think there could be major improvements that would get me to fork out. Mainly putting them on teen sized bodies. That preps them to do proper early appearance New Mutants on the this new teen training uniform bodies, FA Kitty Etc. Also; I really want a lumpy snowpack black booty FA Iceman.Â
