I just skimmed through last year's livestream. If this year's follows suit, this is what we'll see revealed:
Wolverine Anniversary product
X-Men BAF wave
Maybe a random Spidey-related figure
A few teases
I'm hoping we get just a bit more, like at least one Iron Man Retro wave figure and one Avengers Retro wave figure.
I’m out of the loop has there been a rumored X-Men BAF wave? First I’d heard of one for ‘24, I’d expect to see the Avengers stuff they’ve teased instead

Nope... that was speculation based on history. The fact is that with Deadpool being the only MCU movie coming out in 2024 the odds are that the front end of the year especially is going to be comic figure heavy and an X-Men BAF wave makes sense - especially to coincide with the rumored Wolverine 2-packs that will be coming out. But, they may choose to focus on a second (and even a third?) wave based on the X-Men '97 show instead. Who knows...
I did not have X-Cutioner and Uncanny 200 era Magneto on my 2024 Bingo card - but will be happy to add them to the collection.

Kinda sounds like all three guys survived the layoffs for now. Wonder if Hasbro will restructure the team and move Ryan or Dan somewhere else to cover for laid off people. Do any of the other Hasbro brands have two dedicated on camera marketing people?
Too bad about X-Cutioner being a cartoon-based figure. I'll pass, but I realize it means 5 to 10 years before they do a comic-based one at the earliest. Was similarly bummed about cartoon retro carded Hobgoblin two years go. The only good comic Hobgoblin is now a decade old and going for $100 on the secondary market.
That's my problem with these cartoon waves. They are trying to spit the difference and say "well this will work for comic or cartoon" but they really won't.
Also disappointing that the only comic thing I have to look forward to tomorrow is that Patch / Mr Fix It 2-Pack and I already bought the WalMart Mr Fix It a few months ago.
Really hoping for some comic-based X-men figures from 60s, 70, 80s, or 90s.
Also still hoping for comic-based space characters from 60s, 70, 80s, or 90s like Warlock and Pip.
I'm hopeful Hasbro got the message about lack of comic-based figures when their stock price cut in half and they have to layoff a quarter of their company. Or are they going to stick their guns, double down on cartoon and MCU figures, but blame the economy as a whole? Maybe I'm the dummy and if they made more comic figures they'd have sold even less toys the last two years?
Marvel Legends is a small sliver of their market so I don’t really know what lesson their stock prices falling would have to teach them there. This seems to be a thing every time there is some sort of media tie in wave, but I really don’t know why anyone would expect them to not make toys for the new X-Men show.
These look great and I'll probably get most of them. Am I terrible for wanting a re-release of all of these with more comic inspired head sculpts and paint? I get that they can stand in just fine, but the faces are definitely a little more cartoony than I'd like, and the colors are a bit off as well. Yes, I know, it's for the cartoon. That's fine. They did their job well.
I think there’s a good chance. Especially for someone who hasn’t already had a figure before.
Might try a Dark Phoenix head on Goblin Queen but it might be too big. Not a fan of the cartoon coloring. Will no doubt get Goblin Queen to fudge into the display regardless!
I went back to look at the EOV Goblin Queen…damn that one was so nice

This has me rolling. 5 - 10 years? You think there is ever going to be another Marvel Legends X-Cutioner figure made? The character is super niche even for X-Men fans. If you want X-Cutioner in your collection you're going to need to buy this one or build your own because Hasbro isn't revisiting this character for Legends.

Honestly this statement is even funnier than your first one. You think Hasbro's stalled stock price is tied to a lack of comic based action figures in the Marvel Legends line? That is the most ludicrous thing I've read on this site in a long time. Read one article about the financial woes for Hasbro, please, and it will become clear it has nothing AT ALL to do with the performance of Marvel Legends. None.
And, in fact, last year's Legends offerings were comic heavier than in years past with the Avengers anniversary releases, and even their movie tie in waves were half comic based figures. So even if Hasbro, for some reason, were to associate their poor stock performance to Marvel Legends sales the message they'd likely interpret is that too many comic figures underperformed and hurt the line. Again, I'm not arguing that's the case but if Hasbro were inclined to blame some of their financial issues on Marvel Legends their solution wouldn't be MORE classic comic characters.
I just find it really funny that the entire time I’ve been in the fandom, the mixing of comic and MCU waves has been something I’ve seen a bunch of people on both sides decry.
But now that Hasbro is increasingly doing MCU-only waves like this and Across the Spider-Verse, it’s shifted from “Why did Hasbro put comic figures in an MCU wave?!” to “Why are there no comic figures in this MCU wave?!”
I actually think the X-Men '97 figures look pretty great and are comic renditions with new heads put on. But I get it. I just wish Cable was there, but I guess he is counting infants.
As for Hasbro, I wouldn't condescend or laugh at someone for stating something. Poor sales from Star Wars and Marvel toys were cited somewhere I think as the "problem." Of course the MARR is really the issue along with Inflation, but if you don't think tanking movies (and pegwarming figures) or Legends series going to Clearance immediately is contributing to this then you're in Fanboyland. What caused their downfall - poor sneaker sales? A scandal? Board games not getting it done??
MAGIC and Transformers seem to do well, not looking for good for Marvel. Charging more for less damaged the line. X-Men and Fantastic Four might be able to rescue them soon.
Poor sales from Star Wars and Marvel toys were cited somewhere I think as the "problem."
Oh... you "think" that was "cited somewhere".... very definitive proof.
Not a single article I read pertaining to Hasbro's financial issues - and I read more than a dozen - mentioned any specific brands at all. Several did cite an 18% decline in revenue from consumer products - which includes 'products across more than 100 categories, including toys, games, apparel, music, publishing' but also indicated a 42% decline from "Entertainment" which Hasbro indicates is "eOne, its independent studio, where Hasbro delivers world-class entertainment across all genres to audiences around the world, on all platforms. The company specializes in content development, acquisition, production, financing, distribution and sales, sourcing from both Hasbro brands and original IP"
So, yeah and 18% dip across all games, toys , music, apparel isn't great - but a 42% decline in revenue in it's attempts to be an entertainment studio seem perhaps more significant overall...
And to lay any of that at the feet of specifically the Marvel Legends division decision to focus on movie based toys instead of comic based toys is frankly assinine.
Most of these articles also note the toy and game industry was coming off a two year high of increased sales during the pandemic, so frankly it was probably short sighted if they didn't anticipate a downward trend back to the mean.
