I haven't sat down to think about my top 10 yet ("final swing" and Andrew Spideys will most likely be contenders, and I'd have to think about who/how many to rank in my X-Men 275 set) but I do know who my "Figure I shouldn't like but actually kind of do" award goes to:

Outback Rogue.  I shouldn't like her because it's a lazy effort.  A blank female buck with painted on accents.  Her middle green corset thingie should be a sculpted piece.  No accessories.  No BAF piece.  Almost all reuse. $25. I can't recommend you buy this figure.

And yet---

I do like the head, I think the face has personality.  The hair looks good.  While the body is just a blank female buck, they did use their best female buck, and it's pretty good.  If it's on the shelf and you're not dwelling on the fact that there should be sculpted elements to her costume, it's going to make your X-Men team look good.  She's Toybiz Gambit's girlfriend on my display and they look good together.

This figure frustrates me.  I shouldn't like it, but I kind of do.

Forgive yourself for liking that figure.

Never beat yourself up for liking a mediocre figure.  I love plenty of mediocre figures because I love the character they're based on.  That's why I keep two lists--one for what I like personally, and another for what the objectively best figures of the year are.  I always have figures on my personal list that are definitely not among the objective best figures of the year.

I track the best superhero films in another forum, and that's what I do there as well--I keep the best films separate from my favorites.  The Ben Affleck Daredevil movie is absolutely, positively not a great superhero film, but I love that freakin' movie.  The directing and editing pace is exciting with non-stop action, and the soundtrack is SUPERB, perhaps the best in any superhero film.  None of that forgives the mediocre screenplay, acting, and directing problems, but I can ignore all of that because I love Daredevil and the rhythm of the film is extremely enjoyable.

I didn't hate that movie, but if they'd made it just a few years later I bet it would have been better because superhero movie style was shifting at the time.

That said... I normally cannot stand cheese and blatant scene-chewing, but I never apologize for massively enjoying Colin Farrell in that movie. It's just too ridiculous to not enjoy I'd actually probably even get a figure of him.

The Director's Cut is better, and I like the original version.

That seems to be the general consensus but I don't remember feeling any differently about the Director's Cut. I didn't really pay much attention to what was changed though. Maybe I should give it another watch.

It's 30+ minutes longer.

I prefer the Director's cut, but it's not a huge improvement.  Most of the difference is a lengthy segment where Coolio plays one of Matt's clients, and Matt uses Daredevil's vigilantism to help gather evidence to prove him innocent.  That kind of thing happened a LOT in the comic, so it was a good addition.  I also get that it's pretty easy to cut that out since it didn't relate to any of the rest of the story or plot, but it definitely helped define one of Daredevil's major motivations from the comics and it's a better movie with that segment in it.

I don't even remember that heh. To be fair it's been, what, almost twenty years? Guess I better give it a other shot.

Marvel Legends Pulse livestream happening this Thursday, December 14th at 11am EST. I imagine we'll see a bit more about the Wolverine 50th anniversary sets, maybe some more Avengers stuff?

Yay! Always a favorite livestream because the guys are really funny and bounce off each other well, especially fighting over who gets who on their yearly top lists.

Avengers stuff - maybe the reveal of the rumored Retro wave?

Long shot wish of mine: Swordsman and Mantis 2-pack

Wolverine anniversary stuff for sure, hopefully a full reveal of a few sets, not just a tease

Maybe the reveal of the team that will be completed Ryan hinted at

Maybe some Cap-related stuff

Hoping for more Inhumans and original GOTG
