Down from how many in recent years?
heh, well... of the ones I've kept, down one from 14. But I purged a ton this year so I'm not counting all purchases.
In contrast, I think I’d have trouble limiting myself to just a top twenty.
Yeah I only bought, um...128 or so Marvel Legends releases this year - that's counting multipacks as a single purchase, but also includes any older figures I picked up on the aftermarket. Sooo, I bought just a little bit more than you guys. I also don't collect MCU, but I will pick up a wave for a comic BAF - I ended up buying both Guardians and the Disney+ wave to get Cosmo and Khonshu. I'll sell off what I don't want to keep, so my actual "take-home" will end up lower but yeah - not a slow year for me at all.
If I was tasked to make a top 10 marvel legends of 2023, I would have well under 10 figures on it. I don’t think I even bought ten. In last years I was buying 50 to 80 per year when you count army builders as one each. This year I bought like five total.
My in-progress top 10 list is still under development, but so far it does consist mostly of MCU figures this year. But you did skip mentioning two comic figures contending for my top 10--the Target exclusive classic Ant-Man and Destroyer. You didn't like those?
I get it if people feel the price or execution isn't great but for me, as primarily a classic comic fan, this year had a lot of great offerings: Safari Jacket Wonder Man, classic Monica Rambeau, Mockingbird, that awesome Black Widow, a proper Ant-Man, Yondu, Star-Lord, Molecule Man, Baron Von Strucker, Egghead, Crossfire, Karnak, updated Tarantula, the Rose, Corsair, Destroyer, Puff Adder, Fang, the training suit X-sets, Doctor Spectrum, Clea, Luke Cage. Plus 90s Sersi, Moondragon and Drax, bearded Thor, Chamber and M, the soon-to-arrive Crystar, Justice, Vision, and Jack O'Lantern and cool modern characters like Hallow's Eve, Lady Bullseye, Noh-Varr, and Chasm.
Ch'od and Super-Adaptoid...eh, I understand the complaints there. Still, I thought there was a lot of great stuff this year. Looking forward to classic Wasp next year along with the rumored Angel, Nefaria, and Ka-Zar!

And Black Widow!
Extremis Iron Man, Black Widow, and Destroyer Armor are amongst the best in the entire line, in my opinion.
And of course, I loved a lot of other figures this year like:
First Appearance Iron Man
Heroes Return Iron Man
Detroit Steel
Wonder Man
Mockingbird
Hawkeye
Ant-Man
Secret Wars Doom
Photon
Elektra
Luke Cage
Molecule Man
Mindless One
Clea
Blade
Super-Adaptoid
Baron Strucker
Egghead
Wolverine (animated)
Magneto (animated)
Cyclops (Astonishing)
Etc, etc.
Such fun character selection this year!
And that’s just comic figures. I really liked a lot of MCU figures, too!
A lot of people had Spiral in their top 10 last year because that wave started showing up in Nov/Dec.
Monet, Black Widow, DD Elektra, Molecule Man, MCU Monica Rambeau, Mindless One, X-Men '97 Bishop, Extremis Iron Man, and Lady Bullseye were my faves this year.
I think my favorite Legends this year are the Animated Doc Ock, Pulsecon Deadpool, and Mania. I also imagine that the Dafoe Green Goblin will be there too when I actually receive him from Target.
I actually haven't picked up that many this year, but that's mainly because my central Marvel Legends focus is Spider-Man stuff and this has been a fairly lackluster year for that. Just one mediocre wave and some MCU figures.
