Fabian and the entire Acolyte thing was never the most exciting thing for me in the comics, but hopefully if this leads to a wave it will have something a bit more interesting.
Also their dedication to non-comic Spot is almost admirable.

I think @mmg310 is right, probably Marrow. Could possibly be in a wave with Fabian. Maybe Dwight's "most epic BAF" is X-related? He told Dan Who the BAF was "not A-tier but also not Q-tier". Possibly Phalanx Cameron Hodge? Design-wise that would be pretty epic but maybe that's too close to Q-tier.
The Marrow guess is so good it ruins further speculation. I would be surprised if it's not her, but just for the sake of being different, I'll throw Tusk out there.

Funny timing. I was just looking at Maggott earlier today thinking the only other figures I want from that era are Marrow and Cecilia Reyes in her gold and blues. Bring it on!

I just remember loving the old Stealth Suit figure and seeing Worthy Cap as a step up in mold simply because he's not so skinny (I'm not a MCU collector but I love the Cap figs). Judging by the faces on the two-pack, waiting and buying this rerelease will work out fine. not to mention, between the blues and browns looking more vibrant (could be photography, blues are always varying when viewed digitally) and the clean shield, I actually prefer this to worthy Cap. have a great weekend!
EDIT: I'm with y'all, Marrow would be rad! Another MvC2 character for the display. They need to make her very poseable, none of this upper barbell torso joint with no crunch nonsense Hasbro has been peddling for a while.
I'm more excited for the Fabian reveal than I really should be or expected to be. I've said before I think Exodus is way more deserving of a figure than Cortez. And of the Acolytes he's not even the most visually interesting, and he's not the one we got previously as a 5 inch figure (Senyaka!) but here he is.
I do think the "sneak preview" image could very well be a bone for Marrow which would make some sense. I wouldn't mind that overmuch either.
If they are doing an X-themed wave I do hope it means there's a green/yellow Banshee in the offing, and ideally a Feral to round out X-Force. Probably going to have to wait for Rachel Phoenix then - and get her as a deluxe because ... Hasbro.
The repaint of Spider-Verse Spot is meh... I really, really want a comic based Spot figure and so this repaint of the oddly shaped cartoon movie version feels a bit like a stick in the eye.

I might be misunderstanding what you mean by "waiting," but that 2-pack of Cap and Sam Wilson came out two years ago so I wouldn't wait. Both Amazon and BBTS have it in stock.

A hodge-podge X-Men wave could be really fun. Cortez, Marrow, maybe cheap wave-filler like Joseph or Cecilia Reyes, classic Mimic, a random Imperial Guard member, someone in a modern costume (like Storm or Cyclops) and a Wolverine just because.
@renfield75 I like it. Mimic would be a homerun for me and many others. We definitely need more Imperial Guard members. Perfect time for a Cockrum Cyclops or green Banshee. And of course Wolverine. Might be a good time for Albert? I don't know, I feel like we're running out of Wolvie looks.
I feel like a Cockrum Cyclops could be in the next wave of X-Men 97, as we wears that costume at the end of the season. Maybe they won't have Cyclops in back to back waves, though.
I hope that that pointy element is part of Stegron, who ends up being a BAF. But I can see it being Marrow instead. And part of a wave with Fabian with the BAF being Cameron Hodge, which is Dwight's epic BAF.
