Forget all those high hopes of Rachel Phoenix and other Excalibur reveals.
No, for the UK show, Hasbro is going to reveal a half dozen figures that are all Spider-Man UK buck reuse 😀

Anyone interested in splitting a Crystal/Lockjaw set? I bought an extra to get another Crystal and I'm looking to sell the Lockjaw. Set was $75 so $50 for Lockjaw.
So is this new retro card Quicksilver just completely off? I can't find any reference images of him in this color scheme. The white gloves and dark green trunks should all be a lighter yellow-green than the majority of the figure. Did he ever appear this way?
It's close to his "Cap's Kooky Quartet"-era costume, but that should have light green gloves and boots, not white. Possibly this is something he wore in more modern comics, well after the time I stopped.

There is apparently one reference photo online of him in this color scheme and then there is an alternate version of the Eaglemoss pewter figurine that just repainted the blue and white costume in green and white that has the gloves and boots white - though on that one the trunks are the same color green as the rest of the costume.

Yeah, literally the first thing that pops up on a "Quicksilver green costume" google search. That was the depth of their research.
@yojoebro82 I would think that Marvel/Disney provides reference art of their characters to everyone who has the license to use them.
I would think that ... and that's certainly the way it used to be ... but maybe not anymore now that this internet thingie has come along.
Kindly disregard.
While I like the new retro Quicksilver figure, it also irritates the heck out of me because green and white is not the correct color scheme of Pietro's early look.
I really can't comprehend why they didn't just make his boots and gloves light green like they are supposed to be. How hard would that have been? It couldn't be any more difficult, or costly than making them white. I guess we're all just supposed to pretend that this is what Quicksilver looked like when he first appeared in the original Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, and later as a member of Cap's Kooky Quartet Avengers team. Even though it's absolutely not.
QS gets no respect. If Hasbro made any other figure that inaccurate everyone would flip out. Imagine a purple Hulk or Daredevil with yellow boots and gloves, or Thor with a blue cape instead of red, etc. No one would buy those figures. So, why do we accept such an egregious inaccuracy for Pietro? That's why I took the head off the green figure and put it on blue figure from the 3-pack. At least that figure is accurate. Especially now with a proper head (and hair).
They just remaked their old figure. Nothing new.

I'd bet all of my Giant-Men that they not only provide reference art, but that they have to sign off on every single figure before Hasbro makes it.
I would love to get a green Quicksilver that's accurate to his early days, with light green gloves and trunks and little booties. I wish they hadn't just remade the Blob wave figure, but that's what they did. I'm not shocked, as Quicksilver hasn't really worn that outfit since the early 70s, but it's still what I would most want out of a green Quicksilver. Maybe there's a Brotherhood or Kooky Quartet box set in our future -I'd certainly take Scarlet Witch with that weird boxy mask, and Hawkeye wearing a proper skirt.
I'm guessing Werewolf By Night
Nah, some boring new Falcon movie figures, that will rot in Ollie's. I'm done with MCU, so another week for nothing, I guess...
Werewolf By Night would be cool though.

I'm skeptical that Jesse Falcon's group gives them reference art, but he definitely still signs off on figures and I'm sure frequently suggests reference art if he doesn't like whatever art the Hasbro team suggests. They've said all of this before in their streams and have often attributed many figure selections to Jesse. Most recent one I've heard them attribute to Jesse is this new Strange Tales wave.
Isn't Jesse responsible for pretty much every Marvel toy made since the 1990s? The first action figures based upon Marvel started in the 1990s, and I thought he was there the whole time in a controlling role. I've also heard he was the one who started the Legends line to push for better articulation.
I'm fuzzy on the specifics of his role over the years though so if anyone knows more please do share. I think he was far more involved in a daily basis during the Toy Biz days since that company was owned by long-time Marvel executives Ike Perlmutter and Avi Arad, but I've heard Ryan Ting say they still meet with Jesse several times per week.
Yes, Jesse is the guy who was involved with Toy Biz. And he did a lot of good things back in the day. A lot. Unfortunately now his "selections" can suck. Sometimes...really bad. Haslab Doom Head, Red Goblin wave, "no one cares about Kingpin figure" thoughts, new Strange Tales wave, etc.I'd bet all of my Giant-Men that they not only provide reference art, but that they have to sign off on every single figure before Hasbro makes it.
