Got Pietro but he's got glue residue all over his forehead! I got three and all have this to varying degrees.

His white stripes are also extremely hit or miss, as is his collar line. Really, Hasbro - it's three colors!

I do like this neck design - no visible gap in the front of the throat but really big on the back - and he can look completely down and up. This is WAY better than the barbell.

If Marvel Legends aren't doing Haslabs anymore, and that's a big "if", do you think they'll do a pre-order Fin Fang Foom if the size and price is right? What size do you want Fin Fang Foom to be?

ML Haslabs might not be totally done with. If I remember right, they framed this year as taking a break rather than totally ending the model.

That said, the preorder model might work well enough that they might not feel the need to do the Haslabs. In some ways the lilmited preorder might do a better job of driving FOMO purchases - if the thing is getting made one way or another, your options are to get on board or totally miss out, unlike the Haslab which has a long period of uncertainty (that sometimes turns ugly like the EoV).

Didn't see a Hell-Cycle thread so I'll mention it here.

Had some stackable deals at Target and ordered GR last night (getting it under $40 was a no-brainer) and already received, opened and played around with it.  This is a great set and the timing is perfect as I've never really read Ketch's book outside of some crossover issues in the past (bias; Johnny or no one back then) and just got the new Omnibus, so I look forward to learning more about his character.

Still want a Blaze cycle.  Every time I see that 3 3/4" version I start to drool a bit.

If Classified can do the VAMP and Stinger for 100 range, Marvel can do the Hellcharger too.

They can, but they won't.  Not as long as their CEO pays himself a 9 million dollar bonus every year.

https://www1.salary.com/HASBRO-INC-Executive-Salaries.html

Nobody on their board made less than 5 million.

That company has a lot of overhead.  Sorry, guys.  If you want a Hellcharger from them, you're gonna pay through the nose for it.

Yeppers.  It's sad, in my opinion, what we accept as (former) fans.  Toy Biz had their faults, but I would love again for a more artsy company with freedom to have the license and crank out teams, new ideas, figures with paint and more detailed sculpts. When Marvel became big business USA it completely stopped being exciting to me.  I just grab the cool ones like Punisher and Odin as aberrations.

That Hellcharger should be ours, lights or not.  Todd puts out a Batmobile every 4 months.

All the Ghost Riders combined probably haven't moved 1% of the merchandise Batman has, and I'm sure Todd can get 20,000 retail orders for a Batmobile in a few phone calls. GR, especially Robbie, does not have that mass appeal.

That is true.  But ... Todd made a horse.  It's going to come with Jonah Hex.  Jonah's a cool, fun character but he isn't going to sell as much as Batman, I don't think.

One guy on the Marvel Legends design team pitched a box set of Marvel's western heroes with a horse, but it got nixed.  "Horses are expensive" the other guys said.

And they're probably right.  A horse would no doubt eat up a lot of their budget.  Hasbro is a big company with a lot of mouths to feed so they have to watch what they spend.  McFarlane Toys is much smaller and doesn't have near as much overhead.

And therein lies the problem.  McFarlane can do things with DC that Hasbro can't do with Marvel, probably because DC is charging a lot less for the license now that they've produced so many bombs in a row in theaters.  For Legends fans to get a horse and a Hellcharger, Marvel/Disney would have to start charging a lot less for their license, and the only way that's going to happen is if their movies start tanking at the box office as much as DC's.  And I'd hate to see that happen.  I love the MCU and I want to see it keep going.

So that's where we're at.

I don't doubt that Hasbro has nixed a Legends horse completely, but it's worth noting that the Classified series (and their D&D line, and even Legends with Zabu!) have all released really the best articulated animal figures at this price point out there right now. I'm sure there's something about a horse anatomy that makes it not financially viable compared to say, a warthog, panther, sabertooth tiger, dog, or bear, but they've got skill internally for that type of animal figure who are nailing it. I haven't seen one of Todd's horses up close (does Jonah's horse re-use any parts from Roach or his DKR horse?) but I wonder if he uses a heavier plastic for the legs Hasbro won't spring for to support the weight. Horse body plus rider probably won't work with Legends' tendency for more pliable plastic legs.

Meanwhile there is a perfect hell-horse over in Mythic Legions but he's too, too, toooo big for Marvel Legends and costs an arm and a leg to get.

I agree that Hasbro is fairly conservative with their offerings, and I also point to what other lines have made as examples that the Legends line could do as well.

And the license for Marvel has to be more expensive than DC, but that Marvel license also covers a lot of non-Legends stuff. I suspect that sales volumes are down for Legends so the license is eating up more of the budget, and Disney wants the budget to go more towards the MCU figures - so Hasbro has embraced the more collectible price point and market. Meanwhile Todd is trying to fill shelves at Target for mass market the way Legends did 5 to 10 years ago - Hasbro chooses to focus on mass market for Marvel under its cheaper lines.

I am not sure - is the Jonah Hex horse different than the horse that Todd made as a BAF for the Dark Knight Returns? Because if so, Batman paid for that more than Jonah Hex is going to.

I've got that horse--plus the Mythic Legions Balius horse--and neither is too big for Marvel Legends.  They're a bit on the big side, yes, but there are a dozen species of horse that are just that big that people ride, so it can easily work just fine.  I still have the flame horse in the box because I can't think of any Legends to use it with.  Although...while writing this it just occurred to me that the new Doctor Strange with the Dormammu head may work with the flaming horse, or I suppose Dormammu himself might, although the idea of him riding a horse seems a bit too mortal.

Mafex is around the same size as Legends, and here's the Mafex DKR Batman on the Mythic Legions Balius.

I keep thinking of getting one or more of the Mythic Legions horses for my Valkyrior, but do not know exactly how they’d look. And ideally, I’d want white horses, which I don’t think they’ve made yet.

Plus, $55 each, and I have 13 Valkyries, so…

Which body do your Valkyries have?

I’ve got actual Marvel Brunnhilde, and the rest of my Valkyries are made on combinations of Mythic Legions 1.0 and 2.0 bodies I’ve piecemealed together to make them all unique characters.

One thing that might also be worth pointing out is they essentially closed down the Ultimate Riders sub-line and haven’t done many vehicles other than the Sky-Cycle since then. I’m not sure what the sales were like, but if Ultimate Riders did poorly then that’d presumably make it more difficult to get the clearance for future vehicles.
